: Miscellaneous Fanworks Recs - I wish this section were bigger, but... my attention span for TV-based fic has really waned in recent times, plus, there are a lot of other rec sites out there for just about any given series like Buffy/Angel or Alias or Firefly or what have you. Still, occasionally I have a rec that doesn't fit anywhere else (whoo, four of them ~_~) and I still kind of want to do a Highlander (okay, check, got that one done) and Sentinel recs page someday.... Anyway, yes, hodgepodge page here.

: The 10th Kingdom Fanworks Recs - I loved this mini-series so very much, it was really quite charming and just quirky enough to totally sell the premise and achieve the tone they were going for. It was always a great shame that the ratings weren't good enough for a second series or that no one ever wrote an official sequel to it, since the ending was clearly left open for the possibility. Instead, I turned to the occasional fanfic to satisfy my desire for more, since there's some really adorable and fun fic out there. Mostly I read Wolf/Virginia (since they were the point of the mini-series and all) but occasionally I'll branch out into gen. I wish I had time for more, but these are the stories that I've managed to find so far. ♥

: 30 Rock Fanworks Recs - I blame this section on Yuletide 2008. I haven't even watched all the episodes, I just watch whatever episode I happen to stumble over and it's not like I really needed fic for it or anything. It's just that it was there. And it was really kinda good. And I was on the fence about Jack/Liz, because sometimes I think yes and sometimes I think oh god no. And fandom's actually put out a few really amazing pieces! ....it's all fandom's fault. ....yeah.

: The Addams Family Fanworks Recs - This section is also to blame on Yuletide, because every year it seems like there are a small handful of absolutely amazing fics to the fandom and I'll give them a try. (Though, I still haven't finished 2008's fics. orz) It's... not a series I look up often, I pretty much only do it once a year, but it's got enough recs now, that I wanted to clean up the miscellaneous page and put them on their own. Even if it's not a series you'd think you'd really need fic for, the ones here are kind of brilliant and I really recommend them anyway.

: Alias Fanworks Recs - Alias is never going to be a huge series with me, it's one that I ultimately prefer to watch and revel in the silliness and slick spy stuff than I feel the need to greedily hunt for every last fic to read. However, that said. There are some awesome writers in the fandom and I do have a real thing for Jack/Irina, which doesn't get covered enough in the series. So, I'll be all over the map with this section, but the emphasis will probably largely be on SpyDaddy and SpyMommy or little pieces that sparkle brightly or action heavy stories if I can find them.

: Battlestar Galactica 2003 Fanworks Recs - It took me months to finally be convinced to actually just sit down and watch the series after Amanda had urged me to do so for the longest times. I watched the miniseries, the first season, and the second season premiere all over the course of about two days and then I immediately went to devour fic. I lean towards gen fic or the complicated, messy relationship between the Adama men or the occasional Helo/Boomer fic, all of which will make up the bulk of this section. Which means it'll probably rather anemic for quite some time, woe.

: Chuck Fanworks Recs - I've been watching Chuck since it first came on the air and, to be honest, I didn't think I would really need to do fandom for it. It was this adorable little spy parody that was fun just for what it was! But between the UST with Chuck/Sarah and this thing I had for the idea of Bryce/Chuck that wouldn't leave me alone, before I knew it... well, here I was. I ship Chuck/Sarah in canon pretty hard, but I seriously cannot shake the dynamic that Bryce and Chuck have, with all its complications and never-could-have-happened and how much Bryce obviously cares. So, this section will probably be a mix of the two, maybe more of the latter, depends on what fandom puts out. Oh, that and every Devon/Ellie fic I can find, because they are fantastic.

: Criminal Minds Fanworks Recs - Criminal Minds is a show that I ran hot and cold with since the very beginning--I like it a lot, but it never really sucked me in, so I didn't watch it consistently. And then, somehow, that changed. I don't know why, maybe I was just in the right mood for it all of a sudden, but got me to watch about three seasons worth (since I'd skipped around from when the first season was airing) in a couple of weeks and then... yeah, I had to go looking for fanfic. There's really not a ton of it here, but there's a few links that'll get you started, at least.

: CSI Fanworks Recs - CSI! I know, I know, it's CSI... but I couldn't help it! It's such a snack food sort of show, I can watch ten episodes in a row before I've even noticed it and still be hungry for more. And then the series went and showed me likable characters, made me fall for Grissom's character, and presented an array of pairings that I could all get onboard with. My favorites tend to be Grissom/Greg (there are times when I swear to god there's no other way to interpret some of the things they say!) and Grissom/Catherine, but I also have a very strong love of Grissom/Nick and Warrick/Nick and I sort of pine for that one well-written Nick/Sara fic. ....I'm all over the board as you can see.

: Dexter Fanworks Recs - I was a little wary of the show when I first started watching, I'd heard a few too many good things about how disturbing and creepy Dexter was and I didn't feel it right away. But eventually I became fascinated by the character and the world of this series, I loved the plot that was unfolding and the bits of his past that Dexter was uncovering. Somewhere along the line, I became just as hooked as everyone else and I loved the show. Most of the fic I read for this fandom will be set post-season 1, possibly AU and containing a whole hell of a lot of spoilers for the end of the season. I would suggest watching at least the whole first season before stepping foot into this section at all.

: Doctor Who Fanworks Recs - I had seen practically everyone everywhere getting into Doctor Who and I had watched the first few episodes of the first season and I wasn't really all that hyped. It wasn't bad, but I honestly didn't get the insane attraction. But I always cave to peer pressure eventually and finally went back to watch the rest of seasons one through three in a marathon, because I'd discovered an utterly charming show here that just took awhile to come out for me. Doctor Who is an incredibly silly show, the special effects are borderline hilarious at times, but that's not what the show is, it's about humanity and real emotion even when it's set against the dorkiest plot ever. Also, Martha Jones is rocking and I want fic for her. Lots and lots of fic for her. Preferably of the Ten/Martha type because I actually loved the end of season three, that had to happen, but there's so much potential in the future for them.

: Firefly Fanworks Recs - I'm not sure why I have this site, given how many other Firefly recs pages there are out there, but... I guess it's part of the way I read fic these days. If I really enjoyed it, I have to attempt to shove it at other people and write a rec for it. Anyway, this section will largely be Jayne-focused because no one writes Wash/Zoe fic, so I have to stick with my other favorite character. ^_~ I like Jayne/Simon the best, but I'll happily read Mal/Jayne or Jayne genfic. Occasionally, other stuff might sneak in, but I'm really a Jayne fangirl at heart, so. ♥

: Friday Night Lights Fanworks Recs - It took a bit of convincing to get me to watch FNL, but I'm really glad I eventually caved, because it's such a terrific show, it's so very well-done, intelligent, and surprisingly subtle. As for the fic, I tend to read mostly Matt/Julie because they are so adorable and I wanted more of them desperately and there's some super awesome fic available. But I'm happy to enjoy character introspection pieces or meaningful moments of interaction between the players or the occasional Tim/Tyra fic because I never quite got past those two. Or Tim and Jason and their complicated friendship, I really loved that, too. Whatever I happen to find, really, I suppose.

: Glee Fanworks Recs - When I first watched this show, I didn't really think I'd need much of a fandom for it. Not to mention that I really only had an interest in Finn/Quinn and I knew fandom wouldn't give me much of them, so I didn't get very deeply into it. About six or so episodes into the series, though, I had just enough exposure to the idea of Puck/Rachel that my curiosity was roused and I started to ship that as well. Then 1x08 happened. And fandom kind of exploded. And I discovered that, suddenly, I had an OTP that I wanted to read reams and reams of fic about. And, well. I kind of did. Occasionally I'll branch out, I love gen and I love reading Kurt fic especially and Quinn is my darling and I think Mercedes and Artie are fascinating, but, yeah. The majority will be Puck/Rachel fic. I love them.

: Heroes Fanworks Recs - I never intended to hit up the Heroes fandom, I wasn't even sure I would like the series that much. It took watching it with a group of people to understand how it could be really a lot of fun and I think that's probably one of the reasons I don't ship much or do much fandom-wise. But one pairing I did quietly fall for was Sylar/Mohinder, because they have the kind of chemistry I'm used to seeing in series and then there were a handful of good fics... so. This section is never going to be big. I doubt I'm going to branch out much from here, maybe the occasional cool little gen piece or crossover. But this is really just a section for myself and mostly the Sylar/Mohinder fics I liked. I'm happy with that level of commitment.

: Highlander Fanworks Recs - Aw, man, this is one of those series that I really wish I'd been doing recs for at the time because I read so much HL fic and there was some absolutely fantastic stuff for it out there. Sadly, I was many years out of the HL fandom by the time I started doing recs, but... I dunno, lately I've had a craving for it again. So I've been rereading some of my old season one-style favorites (I'm quite the Richie fangirl, so if he doesn't have a strong role in the fic, I probably don't care enough to read it >_>) and wanted to give this section it's own catagory.

: House Fanworks Recs - I'm sure I'm signing myself up for a giant headache by diving into House fanfiction (I should just be admiring my shiny show from a distance, not touching the fandom, thus saving my sanity, is what I should be doing.), but... there were a couple of decent fics posted early on and I was all, "Ooh, fiiiiiiic...." and kinda fell in love. So. Probably won't be huge, will probably be almost pure gen (I try to avoid my instincts to 'ship House/Cuddy, but I think it'll mostly be the huge, giant lack of the pairing in the fandom that'll keep me in the gen section more than anything.), probably not all that interesting, but it's my site and I can do what I want! And the longer the series goes on, the more I slowly branch out into things like Foreman/Cameron and Chase/Cameron as well, so this section is semi decently sized.

: Lord of the Rings Fanworks Recs - I debated about whether to put this page in the live action section or the books section (eventually deciding on both >_>), because, well, yes, the series started with the books, but most of the stuff I rec is usually based on the movies. And, yeah, yeah, be quiet, I like Aragorn/Legolas, so that's what the occasional fic rec will be about, but with fanart, I'm generally all over the place. As long as it's pretty, I'll shove it up here. ^_^v (Note: Most fanart will probably be from Japanese sites, since that's where I search for my art. However, they're usually at least somewhat self-explanatory if you want to navigate them.)

: Lost Fanworks Recs - I'm not sure why I started reading Lost fic, as I really don't have much interest in pairings (Even if I can see how other people would get them, I think I just don't like any one individual character enough to like them in a pairing? Something like that.) and there's only a handful of gen stories around. However, some of those gen stories are really kinda awesome character pieces and I hope to spend at least a couple of mornings sorting through fic before I burn out. I have no real favorite characters, so it's all going to be across the board, I suspect. I have such mad love for the whole mysterious island thing, too, so if anyone does that right I'll love 'em forever.

: Medium Fanworks Recs - Part of me is so utterly content with Medium as a show that the idea of fanfic seems completely superfluous, I'm genuinely satisfied with the show and didn't need anything filled in. Except fandom put out a few fics that were actually really, really good and I'm a sucker for any fic to read. I don't expect this section to be very large and it'll focus pretty much on what the show is about--Allison and her every day life with her talents and her marriage to Joe and the kids. That's all I want. ♥

: Merlin Fanworks Recs - The 2008 BBC series kind of came out of nowhere and I tried it early on, it didn't quite work for me, so I couldn't get through the first episode, I later went back to try again and just. Fell in love. It's not a particularly serious series by any means, but the actors have fabulous chemistry with each other, they're clearly just having fun with it, and holy mother of god the Arthur/Merlin pairing is so great. Usually in big live action/television fandoms with a slash OTP, I wind up shipping obscure het, so imagine my surprise when I headed straight for the OTP fandom loved. And then proceeded to devour as much fic as I could. This section will be fairly bit, probably almost exclusively Arthur/Merlin with occasional gen tossed in (or pre-slash more likely >__>) and contain a lot of flailing.

: NCIS Fanworks Recs - You know, it figures. The one time I want slash (or, well, preslash at least), it's the one fandom that doesn't seem to really want to give me the good fic. I could have been all over the slash in SGA or Supernatural or whatever, but nooooo. I had to like the slash in NCIS, which means I had a hell of a time trying to wade through the fandom. But I've gotten to the point where I'm mostly satisfied and I just watch the show, but I'll still occasionally read a gen piece or a light Gibbs/DiNozzo piece or maybe a quick pwp if an episode was particularly slashy. ....well, really, I'll read Gibbs with almost anyone.

: Pirates of the Caribbean Fanworks Recs - When I watched the movies, I was sort of torn about how to feel. On the one hand, I found Will rather boring, but Jack/Will had lots of fun potential (as well as some great scenes); I liked Will best when he was playing off Jack. But there was that spark of Jack/Elizabeth that I thought perhaps I was just reading too much into Johnny Depp's ability to have chemistry with just about anything. And then the second movie came along and I thought, well. That certainly has potential. So, I imagine this section will be a mixture of three things--Jack/Will, Jack/Elizabeth, and Jack gen. Perhaps a smidgen of gen for the other characters now and again, but not all that likely. I am a Captain Jack Sparrow fangirl through and through, yes.

: Prison Break Fanworks Recs - Prison Break is one of those series that I mainlined the entire first series in about three days, attacked fandom for about a week, and then sort of drifted off. I would still read fic for them if I recognized an author/pairing I really liked, but it's mostly one of those that I dumped a bunch of recs down at once and I'll only tweak it every so often. At least until season two is done and I can mainline that and go nuts with the fandom again. I. Um. May have gone for Lincoln/Michael the most, but I also have fondness for Michael/Sara, Lincoln/Veronica, and Lincoln/Sara. So it's a bit of a crapshoot.

: Psych Fanworks Recs - Psych has always been a cute little show with a terribly catchy themesong and I figured I would leave it at that. I didn't really ship anything--except maybe a passing fancy for the idea of Lassiter/O'Hara--and so fandom wasn't something I intended to seek out. But a fic or two caught my eye, so I read and was charmed by them. And then Yuletide had a handful of really awesome ones up. And somehow I think I wound up actually reading enough in the fandom to give it its own catagory. Huh. Anyway, mostly I go for gen only stuff, but occasional Lassiter/O'Hara will sneak in, since, if I were to ship anything actively, it'd be them.

: The Simpsons Fanworks Recs - Another one that is totally Yuletide's fault. There were tons and tons of recs for a Simpsons fic in 2008 and I got curious enough to read, despite that it's not a fandom I ever thought I'd want fic for. And then Yuletide 2007 had another good one. And there were a couple of recs for FFNET fics. And... w-well. I'm just going to put my shame all on one page and leave it in the corner. >_> It's just. Who knew that there was fic for The Simpsons that was kind of totally rockin'?

: Smallville Fanworks Recs - I watched Smallville back in the first two seasons and the show really did nothing for me. I didn't hate it, but it didn't catch me, either. I had a vague interest in Lex/Lana because they actually had some great chemistry, but I didn't expect anything of it. Along came season six a few years later and I have to watch because of Green Arrow/Ollie Queen and, hey, wait, what? Lex and Lana are kinda sorta dating? Well. I had to stick around for that. Which means, clearly, I had to start poking around for fic. Of course I go for the obscure het. Sigh.

: Star Trek: The Original Series Fanworks Recs - I totally did not plan for this. Like, ever. But with the AU/reboot movie (whatever you want to call it) came out, I suddenly had this explosion of love for the original series again. I doubt that I'll really recommend much from it, I watched it in my pre-fandom days, so I had vague memories of liking Kirk/Uhura and Spock/Chapel, but I really a) don't trust fandom to write either well enough or b) don't trust myself to be able to find it if it's well written enough amongst all the other crap. But occasionally I'll find something I like, either one of those pairings (or Sulu/Checkov/Uhura, because the novels gave me a fondness for that) or (hopefully!) gen. It's my childhood, okay.

: Star Trek XI Fanworks Recs - I didn't expect much from the movie, aside from some pretty explosions. And I don't think it'll ever really be my Star Trek, but, well. It was very pretty. And it got some great fic right as soon as it was out. And it's the only universe that I can slash these characters actively in, so it's kind of a marvel to be able to read Kirk/Spock fic! I'm probably going to be fairly boring in this fandom, I don't plan to be all that exhaustive, I'll go with whatever catches my eye, het, gen, slash, or whatever. I think Kirk is my favorite, but I'll read Spock fic pretty easily, too. (And by "not all that exhaustive", I mean it'll probably still be huge. orz)

: Star Wars Fanworks Recs - I completely did not ever expect to have a catagory for Star Wars fics. I had little interest in reading after burning myself out on a million TPM fics during the initial rush after it came out and what vague curiosity I had left was more for the world at large, the potential ways things might have been different if certain characters had lived or done things differently. And then I stumbled over Leia fic. Leia's issues with her parents and with struggling to be a princess and a diplomat and a fighter all at the same time and I was gone on her again, I loved her character so much. It didn't help that there was Leia - Vader fic available and I have a thing for difficult parent/child relationships. And then there was a neat AU with Anakin living his life over again. And I... slowly developed a fondness for the Skywalker family at large. Not that this section will ever be that big, but at least it's a start.

: Stargate: Atlantis Fanworks Recs - I dragged my feet on this one forever. Despite that I'd been kinda promising it to a friend for two years, I never really crumbled until half my flist was watching it and I couldn't stand to be left out any longer. Where it hadn't worked for me previously, suddenly the show just grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. I have great, dorky love for the series and its characters which has turned into a smidgen of a fic monster. I'm not sure how long that'll last, but I'll get a decent selection going here. Will probably be mostly het/gen and frequently focused towards Ronon/Teyla because I have decided they are OTP hotness.

: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip Fanworks Recs - Honestly, I started watching this one mostly for Matthew Perry, because I have such fondness for him. And I've liked Aaron Sorkin's work previously. And it's not Sorkin's best work, it really seems to be phoned in... and, yet, somehow I developed the OTP of Jack/Jordan and that got me to get attached to fandom. I was happy reading the occasional gen piece with Matt or Danny, but then... oh, nothing motivates a fangirl like an obscure het pairing that she needs to find every last readable fic for. (But I still like gen, too.)

: Supernatural Fanworks Recs - You know how I keep adding pages that I probably shouldn't? Especially when I tend to fall away from the majority of the fandom's interests (not that I blame the Dean/Sam fans, I definitely see where it's coming from, just that I'm too fond of the gen brother relationship to be interested in anything beyond it) and thus the page is always probably going to be a bit small? Yeah. But I do read the occasional Supernatural fic (almost pure gen and probably not likely to change) and I would like to someday read genfic with actual plot. ♥

: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Fanworks Recs - TSCC is not a show that I expected to like. And then it was not a show I expected to really read much fic for or expected that there would be a kind of amazing little fandom. It might not be tremendously huge, but there is some incredible fic out there and it's one of those fannish experiences that I'm so glad to have had, it really did some fantastic things. I'm probably going to read almost purely gen with occasional dips into whatever might have been implied by canon (like Kyle/Sarah) or the occasional Derek/Sarah because it caught my attention a time or two. But mostly pure gen, mostly character introspective pieces, maybe occasionally plot-based. This section will at least get you started in the fandom, I hope.

: That '70s Show Fanworks Recs - Oddly enough, this is one of my bigger sections in the live action catagories because I went through a period where I tried to find as much Hyde/Jackie fic as I could, because this series is one of the few fictional (as in not The Daily Show or The Best Week Ever or any other popculture show) series I still watch every week. I am very much a fan of the Eric/Donna relationship, but it doesn't seem to make for great fanfic... whereas Hyde/Jackie is much more fun to play with for fic writers. So, yeah, this section will be pretty much completely about them... though, I won't run away from good fic if it's gen or for other couples I like. ♥

: Torchwood Fanworks Recs - I do not plan to read much Torchwood fic. The show is all right and I'll read the occasional piece of Jack/John or maybe something gen with Tosh or maybe a particularly fun Rhys/Gwen piece, but... well, there are a million and one Torchwood rec sites out there already and I just don't care that much. It's a perfectly fine show! I totally see the appeal. But fandom has it way more covered than I could ever do. But there's still a piece or two that I wanted to rec, usually some of the more well-known ones in fandom, but who knows. Maybe I'll find a gem or two from one of my favorite authors from another fandom along the way.

: Touching Evil (USA) Fanworks Recs - This one is completely and utterly Amanda's fault, she exchanged a series with me and this is the one she chose for me to watch and I found, yeah, okay, I kinda liked it. Good, old-fashioned cop drama with lovely UST to. And then Amanda started writing fic and I was just sunk. I have the worst time being able to catch the episodes on USA, so I'm just diving into the fic instead... which, by the way, will probably be all Creegan/Branca with maybe some gen on the side, if someone writes it.

: Ugly Betty Fanworks Recs - When I first watched Ugly Betty, it didn't quite grab me. Somewhere along the line, though, I realized what a soap opera all of the characters were meant to be and the show appealed to me much more since that point on. I might not have needed any sort of fandom for the show, except that I genuinely like the idea of Daniel/Betty. I don't want it to happen in canon for a long time to come, I am enjoying where the show is going with the characters for now, but I still like the idea of the pairing. So, fanfic. This won't be a huge section, but it'll be enough to get you started, should you want to dive into the fandom. Mostly Daniel/Betty and some gen. Maybe some Henry/Betty if I find it.

: Veronica Mars Fanworks Recs - I watched all of the first season of Veronica Mars and about five more episodes of the second season in the span of two days because it was utterly addicting and I had to know what happened next. Just one more episode, just one more episode I kept saying. The thing about the show (and the fandom) is that... somehow, Logan/Veronica didn't do it for me in nearly the way Duncan/Veronica did and when they got back into a relationship... despite knowing that it was utterly doomed, I had fallen completely and any other pairing just couldn't get my interest anymore. Since about 90% of the fandom is geared towards Logan/Veronica (not to mention that there are a ton of other VM rec sites/journals out there), this section is always going to be small. But at least I have my small corner now.

: Wonderfalls Fanworks Recs - I watched Wonderfalls after the DVDs came out, so I knew going in that there would be no more, but it was still rather painful to only have those 13 episodes, since it was such a delightful little show. I certainly never expected to read much fic for it, but there were a couple of recs that got me curious and a couple of authors that I was intrigued by and then Yuletide had several really fantastic pieces and... well, finally, I caved and gave the show its own section. (I could have sworn I'd had more recs than this, though.) This section won't be huge, but it's just enough to keep me satisfied, I think. I want to expand on it, but it'll be slow.
