Fleeting Fancies - Fanworks Recommendations

: Arashi - Gen Fanfiction Recs - [ page one - page two ] - While it was the desire to ship certain pairings in Arashi that finally got me interested in jpop and jpop fandom, I found that I actually liked the guys for themselves and wanted more of them in just about any way and even, in some cases, beyond pairings. Of course, jpop fandom isn't exactly known for the gen, but once in awhile it still actually happens and it's fantastic. ♥ Not that often because Arashi is a pretty tiny fandom compared to most to begin with and gen isn't exactly the attraction, but I am totally looking for it. I fell for this band because of their obvious care for each other and dorky antics. In my opinion, that will never happen enough in fandom, too. ♥

: Arashi - Aiba/Jun Fanfiction Recs - [ page one - page two ] - These two are the real reason I'm completely insane about jpop, because somehow I'm weak to the evil bitchy fashionista who is not-so-secretly smooshie on the inside type and then there was Aiba who is quite possibly the hottest thing in Japan even if I still miss the blond/orange look and they were constantly hanging around each other and... okay. I have a thing for the bitchy one and his retard boyfriend of pairings, which is a bit too simple to truly describe them, but it's a lot of what I love and made me fall so for them in the first place. Really, really hard. To the point that I'm kind of, um, excitable about them.

: Arashi - Ohmiya Fanfiction Recs - I don't want to meet the person who isn't at least a little charmed by Ohno and Nino's antics, seriously. I mean, how can you look at that picture of Ohno pinching Nino's cheeks (and, god, the look on Nino's face! XD) and not have some sort of attack of the cuteness? Plus, they're constantly touching and are totally adorable together and I just. I flail a lot at the cute, even if my obsession lies elsewhere for now. (And even if I didn't love them, they get the majority of fandom's attention, so it's hard not to be caught up in the love. <3)

: Arashi - Ohno/Jun Fanfiction Recs - I have this really deep and true affection for Ohno/Jun, especially because you can just see how much Jun completely adores Ohno and how fond of Jun Ohno is in return. Aside from Ohmiya (and eventually Aiba/Jun, I suppose?) these two get some of the most amazing moments of total "....that was really straight, you guys. .__.b" that I've ever seen in the fandom. It doesn't get written as often as I'd like (each of them have someone with stronger pull for both of them, fandom-wise) but it's still a pairing I adore deeply. I love how. Totally comfortable they are with each other.

: Arashi - Nino/Jun Fanfiction Recs - I've always been all right with the idea of Nino and Jun. But somewhere along the way. Nino and Jun are just so fabulously bitchy at each other, yet are the two biggest squishies in the band (they are both such marshmallows for their bandmates, underneath the prickly exteriors) and they can really understand each other in so many ways. They don't have to hold back on being total dicks to each other, yet they know how much the other deeply cares. And a;lsdfkjaslkj they are such bitches and I love them so much.

: Arashi - Other Fanfiction Recs - [ page one - page two ] Honestly, I didn't think I would branch away from the gen or my two favored pairings. But at some point I realized that I kind of had a thing for Matsujun and I would really like to shove him at pretty much all of the band. Or his co-workers on the dramas he's in. Or just one total bitchy angrysex with Jin. And I just want one good Aiba/Nino/Jun fic from an author I trust. And after that I started thinking, you know, it might be awesome to read world-destroying Aiba/Nino fic. And this is where I ended up. Eventually Ohno/Jun and Nino/Jun got their own sections, but! Ohno/Sho and Sho/Nino and some really hot threesomes have been popping up in fandom now. ♥

: Arashi - Fanvid Recs - It almost seems a bit strange (and yet, in another way, completely sensical) that there are fanvids for a band that already has music videos that they themselves make. Which is probably why I generally don't go for the videos set to Arashi's own music (unless they're one of the more upbeat songs like Nice na Kokoroiki or Hadashi no Mirai), instead going for the more humorous ones. If a fanvid can make me giggle or grin because it's just so delightfully whacky, then I'll probably like it.

: Arashi - Fanart Recs - There... there is Arashi fanart. I figured there'd be at least some doodles here and there to be found. But actual sites? Ones with art where I can recognize the guys? I... didn't quite expect that! I go wherever the fandom will take me, which oddly enough usually means Sho/Ohno fanart mostly. Some Ohmiya as well. Some gen sites, too. Hopefully, this will (eventually) be a mix of Japanese sites and English sites. I'll try to cover a wider range, but it's not like this is another Prince of Tennis fandom. ....yet. *rubs hands together*

: JE - Jin/Yamapi Fanfiction Recs - This is all fandom's fault, because Pin gets so many fantastic writers and I fell for Arashi first and then went, well, there's some really nice Pin fic here, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to just read a little of it, since I have a basic idea of who these guys are... cut to a few too many brilliantly written fics later and now I can't get enough of them. ): I still resent being even somewhat dragged into KAT-TUN/NEWS, but at least the fic is really fun and I do greatly enjoy Retard #1 with Retard #2 and their moronic antics. ♥

: JE - Jin/Yamapi/Kame Fanfiction Recs - ....I want to shoot myself for this one. I'm not particularly a fan of Kame or the way fandom portrays him a lot, but after watching a little more of Nobuta wo Produce, I kind of developed an interest in Yamapi/Kame interaction and while the Pikame fic itself kind of scares me, a handful of Pin writers have written Akamepi that resonates with my own take on them and... well. Here's where I found myself winding up again. I still refuse to like every JE band out there, though.

: JE - Other Fanfiction Recs - Occasionally, there's a random pairing on the side or in the background. Or maybe I'll find more than three Pikame fics that I like. I'll probably mirror any Jun/Jin fic in this catagory as well. Whatever it is that I'll lob into this catagory, every time I have a big enough section, I need a good miscellaneous page to toss all the extra stuff I don't know how to sort otherwise onto. This is that one here.
