- D.Gray-man - The Pledge by Arugentine - *__*! D.Gray-man fic that really gets the feel of the series down! Allen is just... he's so wonderfully in character here, all of the weight that's settled on his shoulders in those quiet, serious moments, as well as capturing the style of the manga somehow. It was something about the way Allen's arm was described, without being ridiculous or focusing on it too much, that just hit the right note for me. I totally had to regularily rec this, despite that it's less than 300 words. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - Innocent by Mina Lightstar - Eeeee! DGM fic! Good DGM fic! With Kanda being grumpy as usual and Allen being so straightforward and determined and they don't get along, but there's chemistry there and a grudgingly growing sense of something, a certain sort of acknowledgement. The point really isn't so much about the slash, which I both enjoy in the fandom and am glad that it's not taking over (like it did with Death Note), but that it's about the characters instead. Mina gets the characters and writes a story that fits with the whole feel the series has and I'm just so glad that she wrote this one. ♥ (Not really Kanda/Allen, but sort of. Except not. No, really.)

- D.Gray-man - Mermaid by baka_neko - So, I remember reading and liking baka_neko's FMA fic and the label of of Crowley and Eliade on this fic intrigued me, so I clicked. I'm so glad I did because the author really captures this sense of... confusion and hurt and being lost on Crowley's part, how his life is spinning out of control from him when Eliade shows up, this sense of softness and beauty to her, the way the story made me feel. I loved those characters so much, I adored their arc, and this was a lovely addition to that. *__* (Hints of Crowley/Eliade, but it could be gen, too.)

- D.Gray-man - Segmented Time by Vikki - I admit, I'm not much of an Allen/Rinali reader, but because it's Vikki, I'll give a lot of things a shot--and I mention this because I want to make it clear that I thought this story was worth reading without taking the pairing into consideration like I (and most fangirls, I would assume) do. But, wow, this was beautiful and had this lovely, somehow elegant, somehow almost gothic style that so very much reminded me of the manga itself and Vikki's writing is just so lovely that I could almost feel the music as Allen and Rinali waltzed the time away. I just... flap my hands and squee and secretly am very envious of her talent with words when she writes such a beautiful, beautiful piece like this. (Some Allen/Rinali.)

- D.Gray-man - 100 Bottles on the wall, paraphased by baka_neko - It was the first line of this fic that totally and utterly won me over: "Ninety-nine exorcists on the waaaaall~ er..er, Rhode-sama, I can't remember the next line?" The akuma cringed. Akuma. Singing a bastardized version of 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. Awesome. ♥ But add in this atmosphere of genuine creepiness that's got that bizarre whiff of whimsy mixed into it just like the manga and I really, really liked the result. (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - three drabbles by cuppa_calamity - There's just over 300 words here and I probably should have saved them for a snippets post, but... D.Gray-man fic! Good D.Gray-man fic. Three drabbles, each of which is exactly what I was looking for from the fandom. These three did more for me than... well, far more than I was expecting certainly. The first one was a gorgeously creepy Rhode drabble. The second was a Komui and Rinali scene that reduced me to wibbling. And the third was a Kanda/Allen/Rinali fic that... was bittersweet and sweet at the same time. Perfect, I cannot express enough love. (No warnings/pairings, no warnings/pairings, Kanda/Allen/Rinali implied.)

- D.Gray-man - D.Gray-man drabble dump by cuppa_calamity - More D.Gray-man drabble that I probably shouldn't rec here, but what the hell. DGM fic is so rare and, even more rarely good, that I must. The first one is... heartbreaking and lovely and the second is a lovely Ticky drabble. I really like that each of them feels complete, like there doesn't need to be anything more to them that what's here, but I also love that... yes, Ticky fic! I wanted this badly. (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - muttering faces, masked with fear by eree - Pretty much since the first time we saw Komui at Rinali's bedside, I've been waiting for a fic like this. Most of the pairings in the series are frightfully dull and so few would focus on the Li siblings, but then this fic comes along and it's gorgeous and painful and aching and gentle at the end in the way that only makes it that much more beautiful and painful. Much as I love them having wacked out antics, it's the serious fic like this that breaks my heart for the characters in the way it absolutely should. I flail with incoherent love, yes. (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - believe in my fairytale by baka_neko - Crowley/Eliade is one of the few interesting DGM pairings, so you have no idea how delighted I was to see a fic that's just... gorgeous and perfect and brilliant and everything it should be for this pairing. There's something slightly creepy about it, the way there's something slightly creepy about their relationship, but it's also sad and happy and beautiful and perfect. The use of fairy tales with this couple, who are so many elements of one themselves, is absolutely gorgeous, the emotion of the piece just makes my fangirl heart ache and I cannot express enough love for it. (Crowley/Eliade.)

- D.Gray-man - regret is beholding heaven and feeling hell by silchi - After reading the author's Black Cat fic, I saw she'd written DGM fic and I've been pining for fic from that series, so I clicked onto this one. It's a lovely Rabi piece and it's Rabi/Rinali and it's this lovely, heartbreaking, melancholy tone and *dreamy sigh* these two are quickly becoming a real OTP for me, I fear. But mostly it's a lovely look at Rabi's character himself. (Rabi/Rinali.)

- D.Gray-man - The Last by sexy pancake - I think what I really wound up liking about this piece was the way it sort of hovered between a pairing and not, the way it was sort of Kanda/Allen, but sort of just about Kanda watching/looking at Allen, too. There are a couple of really good lines in the fic as well, the way Kanda thinks that Allen might just be their heart after all struck me as well-done. Short, but solid. (Kanda/Allen implications.)

- D.Gray-man - To the Glorious Dead by Arahyacinth - I have such trouble finding good DGM fic to read, but this piece was a lovely short one about the Noah family and a loss of one of their own. The quiet way it doesn't push Rhode's quiet sense of loss that's unfamiliar to her, the way everything around her is still so creepy somehow, it's very nicely done. (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - Once More, with Feeling by Triste - Oh, see, now this is what I was waiting for in DGM fandom! It's not really even that much of a pairing, you could read it as gen if you wanted to, and it's delightful. It's a relatively simple idea, Kanda and Allen and breakfast, but it's beautifully written and I was giggling out loud by the end of it and Triste's sense of comedic timing is still as great as ever. I especially love this fic because it does so well with both characters, Allen isn't really a pushover and Kanda is kind of a dork, yet they still retain that something that made me love both of them, never going too far overboard either direction. And asd;lfkjasdlfjasdf the IMAGERY in this one is so completely awesome that I cannot keyboard mash enough. (Maybe a little Kanda/Allen, but it's more gen than anything.)

- D.Gray-man - I am diminished, with or without you by demoerin - I've been saying this ever since the manga first started coming out, that I desperately wanted more Lee Siblings and whyyyyy wasn't fandom giving it to me!? This fic did a lot to help with that urge, the way it showed how much both these characters go through because of Rinali's Innocence, how much Komui was willing to give up to be near his sister again, how thin a line he had to walk, too, how damaged Rinali is, all of this without beating the reader over the head with it. It's a backstory that I can definitely believe for both characters, but... more than that, it feels right for them for the way... well, whatever it is I feel for them in the manga, I felt it reflected here. There was something very satisfying about this piece, something that I am utterly failing to put into words here, which is a shame because this is one of the better DGM fics I've read lately. *_* (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - Unintended by Triste - [ part 01 - part 02 ] - You have no idea how delighted I am to have a fic like this dedicated to me on my birthday, one of the precious few really good DGM fics out there and such a nice, long read. Which is one of the great things about this story, because Triste takes time with Kanda and Allen, showing them slowly working towards finding a way to get along without making it too easy for them, but not wallowing in emo angst, either. She keeps the fun dorkery from the series, but puts them in a situation where it's a plausible fun dorkery, like the lighter moments from the manga. And her characterization is lovely, Kanda's angry and uptight but not stupid and has real feelings, Allen is polite and gentle-natured but still has his backbone and, god, Allen teaching Kanda how to play cards (how to cheat at cards) just for something to do is one of those beautiful moments that I'll always treasure in the DGM fandom. Just. Allen and Kanda forced to get along by being shipped off to a deserted island (I love Komui and his, uh, solutions to problems) and so many little details that make the fic feel just that much more fleshed out. This was really a very, very nice satisfying read, over 10,000 words and I swear it just sailed right by in the absolute best way. ....okay, this rec is crappy, but the fic is totally awesome, go read omg. ♥ (Kanda/Allen, PG-13 for a light lime scene.)

- D.Gray-man - In Thanks for Heka by trixie - This was a very cute, fluffy, warm-hearted story about Komui and Rinali before the Order, how they're going shopping for new shoes for her of all things, and it's just... it's adorable and Lee siblingfic, which I crave in this fandom. I like the way Rinali found her shoes, almost a bit like destiny, the way Komui tried to be stern with her but was so adorably weak to her. Very nice and makes me a little less mournful of the DGM fandom. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)

- D.Gray-man - Food Fetish by Haverstock - After a long time away from the DGM fandom (because it has some mystical ability to put a damper on my good mood much of the time), I finally started reading the manga again. And remembered how much I liked the potential of the Ravi/Rinali ship idea, so, naturally, I had to wander over to FFNET. And I was just charmed by this cute little fic where Rinali and Ravi team up to try to get Kanda and Allen together. What really won me over where these little moments where the characters were just quietly adorable. I'm weak to a cute turn of phrase with adorable het couples! Like: The smile on Lenalee's face is so radiant that he finds himself blinded by the beauty of it and realizes, suddenly, that hes in love with Komui's sister.

He wonders how long he has left to live. (Ravi/Rinali, some Kanda/Allen.)
