- Final Fantasy 8 - Deep Forest [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Admittedly, the pairing isn't my favorite, but I don't run away screaming from it either, especially when there's a lot of art on the site and the artist is tremendously talented at the CG-style she often uses. There are some Squall illustrations on the site that are just downright beautiful, like the one of him on the motorcycle or holding the gunblade while he sits against the wall or fighting in mid-battle. The details are amazing, her use of color is tremendous and I find myself going through the entire gallery all over again because her art is just that good. Very worth crawling all over this site. ♥ (Lots of Squall-only, but some Seifer/Squall as well.)

- Final Fantasy 8 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I sat on the fence about this one for awhile, but slowly... I found myself warming up to the fanart of Zell, because I have a weakness for the cute sketchy stuff. The artist makes good use of her style and it's not going to be for everyone, but I really like the adorable ness of the chibi-like art and the almost messy lines that make everything feel light and airy. But. Okay. Really. I have to admit that I was won over by Seifer dressed like a pirate. Complete with eyepatch and everything. ♥ There's just no way that's not great. Not that kitty!Zell wasn't helping right along, because I do have such a tremendous fondness for the way this artist focuses on the character. I mean... the whole site was just fun and put a big smile on my face. I don't ask for more than that. :DDDD ....well, okay. Cute Zell in Seifer's jacket. (I think?) That totally made my day, too. ♥ (Mostly gen, you have to hunt a little for the Seifer/Zell.)

- Final Fantasy 7/Final Fantasy 8 - WILD BERRY [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, man, how much did I love this site? Part of it is that I spend a lot of time looking for fanart of the FFVII/FFVIII guys, so to come across a site that draws such beautiful girls reminds me, hey, yeah, I love them, too. Right from the start, there's this beautiful, warm-colored illustration of Tifa, Aerith, and Yuffie that is one of the prettiest things ever. But there's also one of the FFVIII girls, of Rinoa, Quistis, and Selphie that uses the same shades of warm reds and golds that I love so much. ....and, okay. The little chibis of Sephiroth/Cloud and Squall/Rinoa didn't hurt my feelings at all. But I think the real attraction is that the art is gorgeous and you can feel such love coming from it, every time I see an image of Tifa or Aerith or Rinoa or any of the Final Fantasy girls on this site, it makes me think it's impossible to not absolutely love any of them. Not that it's just about them, it's actually fairly even-handed, there are a couple of really nice illustrations of Squall or Cloud, just... yeah. That's what hit me the hardest about this lovely site. ♥ (Hints of possible pairings, but none enough to count. I'd mark it gen.)

- Final Fantasy 8 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Perhaps I was inclined to be kind to this site because it has a lot of Seifer/Zell fanart and I've been looking all over for that. But then I go back through the gallery while I'm writing this rec and remember, no, it totally deserves a rec for younger!Zell with these impossibly pretty blue eyes. The artist actually does so some really great things with these soft colors or adorable poses... so stuff like Seifer throwing sparks at Zell's sparkler with an annoyed expression while Zell grins like a maniac is just the most adorable, fun thing ever. Still not going to be for everyone, but I enjoyed it and there were enough illustrations on the site that were cute or pretty that it totally made the site worth my time. I had a lot of fun. ♥ (Some Seifer/Zell, some gen.)

- Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII/Final Fantasy X - Last Resort [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I keep thinking that eventually, I'm going to run out of Final Fantasy art to coo over because it's just so damned pretty, but it hasn't happened yet. I randomly started poking around again tonight and, zomg, I love this site so much, the art is just beautiful. I admit, I was a little happy with the whole Cloud with the one wing thing because I get dorky for references to the whole thing (given my OTP and all), then it was the absolutely gorgeous one of KH!Cloud and Leon, then it was the beautiful illustrations of Cloud and Tifa (AC!Cloud with game!Tifa was just so pretty), then it was the beautiful FFX illustrations and, yeah, I was totally head over heels for this site. The art is just so lovely, that soft, light, airy feeling that I like so much, so many pretty blues and and soft grays or greens, such beautiful lineart and so many pairings that I really have a great fondness for without being a shippy as hell site. It's one of those that has a nice, even spread across many pairings. And I mentioned pretty, right? Okay. (Mostly gen. I'm sticking it in the Cloud/Tifa section because the art is worth going for fans of that pairing, but the site doesn't really imply the pairing very heavily, it's very, very gen.)

- Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII/Final Fantasy X/Juuni Kokki - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Another site I sort of waffled on for awhile, but was eventually won over because I thought a handful of the illustrations were just so impressive. The FFX and 12K art are probably the two most impressive series, because the artist just draws all this amazing detail into the images, uses all these pretty, soft colors and some of them really look like they could have been doujinshi or done on paper and scanned in, rather than just drawn on the computer. The site also has one of my favorite Laguna illustrations and, okay, there are only about four Juuni Kokki images, but they're just so pretty and so finely drawn that I had to include them. The one of Youko leaning against her sword is just beautiful and the En-ou and Enki illustration looks amazing. There's also some solid AC-based fanart that's worth skimming through that gallery for and, just, the site was all-around fun with the occasional amazing illustration. (Some FFX pairings, but no real themes.)

- Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII/Final Fantasy X - ICE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me awhile to warm up to this site, the realistic style of CG is rarely something that appeals a whole lot to me unless it's amazingly, amazingly done. I sat on the fence with this site for a long time and it probably wasn't until three-fourths of the way through the FFVIII gallery that I started to like it. (Well, okay, maybe I had a soft spot for the Laguna illustration about halfway through the gallery.) It's not going to be for everyone and it's probably not my favorite, but I totally have a weakness for the softness that the artist applies to the characters, especially Rinoa or Quistis. And even though there only about four FFVII illustrations, I had to include it because I really sort of love her Sephiroth (the coloring is just so pretty and good with the character) and her Tifa is great. (Some het with FFVIII, but I don't know what theme I'd call.)

- Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII/Final Fantasy X - okawariFREE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was officially won over to this site by the fanart of Raine with kid!Squall. So very rarely do I ever seen fanart of that aspect of the series, much less when it's done up really pretty. A lot of the art on the site didn't move me one way or the other, but there were a handful of illustrations (there was a really gorgeous Irvine one, a couple of good Irvine/Selphie ones) that were just totally worth it. Most of the FFVII fanart didn't impress me, but the FFX fanart was really solid, some of the Tidus/Yuna ones were even gorgeous, and the artist improved tons over time so that it became one of those sites where... I had a decently good time while I was here. It gave me a fix for FF fanart. It gave me a couple of kickass images. Sometimes that's all I need. (Some Tidus/Yuna, some Waka/Lulu, a lot of gen.)

- Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII/Final Fantasy X - GREEN GLASS [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - As I was going through the galleries on this site, first clicking through the original illustrations, I wondered if I had stumbled onto an only-original site and wished that the artist had done some fanart, too. (I'd have loved to see this artist do some Odin Sphere art, for example.) And then I hit the FFX art and I really liked it--it's the kind where it's super detailed and very doujinshi-like (I believe a lot of the images are scans of the artist's doujinshi?) and almost sort of reminds me of a common Korean style, but not quite. Or maybe some old-school doujinshi-style, the kind that was popular in the late '90s, early '00s? Either way, it makes for some really interesting art to look at. The artist also has some fantastic Howl's Moving Castle art and I would have loved to have seen more from her or even just a proper gallery. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Final Fantasy VIII - 32nd [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I actually came to this site for Dissidia art (which I'm going to keep separate from just the pure VIII or VII art, I think) and was surprised to find a VIII art site that I'd never seen before! A decent sized site (for the VIII fandom) with some really pretty art on it! It's a very... simple CG style and yet it's not, because the artist does really well with it. There's something really almost... peaceful about the art, the soft colors and simple, clean lines of it. You can tell the artist especially likes Squall and, well, hey, any site that likes pretty Squall art gets a thumbs up from me for that much at least. :D It's not a huge site, but it was fun to go through! (Maybe a little Squall/Seifer, but it's mostly a gen site, I'd say.)

- Final Fantasy VIII - Crimson Sky [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is one of those sites that makes me fervently glad I'm a Squall/Rinoa fan because the art is so plentiful and so wonderful that I'm a little bit over the moon right now. I didn't even have to make it halfway through the Squall section (nevermind the Rinoa or Squall/Rinoa sections) before I was completely in love with the site and how amazingly wonderful everything here is. The art starts out a little sketchy, true, but by the time you get to the more current stuff? It's an awesome site, the kind I wanted to spend hours on and maybe never leave again. The more the artist's work progressed, the more amazing detail and strong lines she put into everything, the more she captured the feel of the game. You can really feel how much the artist loves this game and these characters, it comes through in the gorgeous artwork, to the point I can't even pick a favorite, not even close. Not when there are so many wings and SeeD uniforms and long, flowy dresses and gunblades and epic hugs and makeouts! New favorite Squall/Rinoa art site? YES. ♥ (Squall/Rinoa. Some gen if you stick to the single character sections.)
