- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This is one of the first sites I stumbled over with art I really could go *___* over; there are a lot of FMA sites that are okay (and that I'm sure I'll come back to when I've run out of other sites to rec), but this is one of the first few that made me fall in love. The artist's work seems to fairly glow and I love that effect when used properly! The lines are gorgeous, I think I actually enjoyed some of her sketches better than I did her full colored art, though, those are lovely as well. That very first one of Edward? Beautiful. A nice way to start out the fandom. (Mostly gen, a little bit Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I waffled on this site for a bit, there were some really cute illustrations, but nothing that made me sit up and go *piku*... until an illustration of a supremely pissed off Edward practically crawling over Roy's desk and into his lap caught my attention. There were also a couple of illustrations of Roy in the middle of huge, blazing fires that made me go *______* quite madly. (There's one of Roy with his head bowed and arms out as his hands glow that's just COOL. There was also one of that night with Al and Ed that made me just whimper. ;___; ) The art has this sketchy quality to it, it's not necessarily laden with a ton of details, but I really liked it, the artist really has some very strong linework and a nice use of more muted colors. (I wouldn't really give this any single pairing theme, it's more gen than anything.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Sorairo no Kuni [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This site has some really cute art of the Elric brothers while they were younger and while some of the art does seem a little off, what caught my attention is how... shiningly blonde they both are as kids, which is something I really liked to see here. Edward's (and Al's, when he was younger) blonde hair and gold eyes are so very much a part of him that those have become the colors I associate with him (well, that and red--red/gold is what I think of when I think of Ed). Which came through really well here, along with some absolutely adorable images of the brothers when they were younger. So, this was a fun little site for me to explore. And that one illustration of Roy didn't hurt, either. ^_~ (No warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Soraen [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - There are two 'styles' this artist uses--one is a very watercolors-like style and one is a much smoother look, but I honestly like both about the same. The artist draws a lovely Edward, but her Alphonse is fantastic (there's one that I would swear looks straight out of the series itself *___*) and they're all just... fun illustrations. The one of Hughes and his wife and daughter particularily stick out in my mind as do several of the junk sketches, which have a lot of really great poses along with very, very solid lineart. This is one of those sites that's very solid work and will give you your need for an art fix, but might not necessarily swoon insanely over. But, then, usually only pairing sites do that for me. ^_~ (No warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Emeth [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Oh, wow, this artist does beautiful, beautiful work. There aren't too many illustrations here, but I had to rec it because of two specific ones--the first being the Roy/Ed one where he's wrapping his arms around Edward and resting his shoulder against the smaller boy's shoulder. It was just... powerful and gorgeous. The second is the incredible, detail-rich, beautifully colored, professional quality illustration of Ed, Al, and Winry when they were children and just getting into alchemy. The colors are bright and vivid in the way that I love so much, that can so easily turn gaudy, but isn't here. It almost seems to shine, that's how gorgeous it is. Wahhh, I'll stop gushing now, just... so pretty!! Oh, but be sure to check out the anime reactions gallery, episode three has the BEST illustration of Ed after the failed alchemy summing and Roy's little "^___^ *heart*" expression while watching over him. <3 (No single pairing theme/warnings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I was shown this site to me and spammed with a bunch of random illustrations from it and I just fell in love. The artist's style is very sketchy and the colors are very watercolor-y, so it may not appeal to everyone's tastes, but I wound up liking it so much because of the feeling to the images. The colors were used very effectively, giving the illustrations a sense of being paintings rather than digital artwork. I'm also absolutely, wildly in love with the artist's Roy, who I would gladly bear his flaming, sparkly, sarcastic, fruity, gay babies. Seriously. *____* Edward is also beautifully done, you can feel the angst of the character coming through, but you can also feel his determination and that strength of personality he has. Plus? Any site that has Roy kissing Edward in the library done so beautifully and subtly, wins my love. But there's also this one of Roy that's just painted in red, covered in flames that's just... holy fuck it's gorgeous and intense. *___* (No single pairing theme, but elements of Roy/Ed, Hughes/Roy, maybe a little Ed/Al, but it's also very gen-friendly.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - no. 69 [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Another one a friend shoved at me... you're sensing a pattern to this, yes? ^_~ The FMA art can be a little difficult to find (hint: look for anything with "hagaren" in the URL, of course ^_^), but it's really worth the effort because the artist does some beautiful work. The colors are subtle and the shading beautiful, but it's the feeling of the images that really captures me yet again. Al and Ed standing over their mother's grave, Roy surrounded by flames, Lust seductively looking at the 'camera', Ed with both serious or happy expressions... it's all gorgeous, gorgeous art. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Escape Water [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I admit, this artist took awhile to grow on me, because the art is very... overly rounded cute, you know? Very simple CG-ish in places as well. But the more I went through the gallery, the more I really became genuinely fond of the art, the colors are done well and there were some really nice portrait shots of just about all of the characters (including a gorgeous one of Roy *__* and then there was this beautiful one of Havoc.... *_____*). There were also some really cute illustrations of, say, Ed and Al or Al in a wooden box with a kitten or a really cool illustration of Lust, and so on. The site was nice for one of those cute gen sites that's not really about a pairing at all, but instead something for just about anyone. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist - sea anemone [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Okay, I didn't want to be won over by this site, but I was looking for FMA fanart and decided to drop by the TeniPuri section as long as I was here and... crap. Crap, crap, crap. It's all so cute, disarmingly so. The art isn't quite chibi, but it's chibi-esque enough that it's just darling; the artist combining that with a nice sense for colors and a deft hand with the neko ears and tail. It's not so much that it becomes obnoxious, just enough that it tears at my defenses and makes me kinda-sorta like the art. >_> It doesn't hurt that Ryoma's expression is usually so cranky. XD As for the FMA art, there's not a lot here, but I had to rec the site because of the oekaki--I, obviously, rec a lot of Roy fanart, so for me to see some Edward art that somehow tugs at me... is very cool. <3 He's just so cute, though, and the artist really does a terrific job, especially with his eyes. *___* (Some Eiji/Ryoma and Sengoku/Eiji.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - 00H+1 [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I'll admit that the pairing isn't my favorite, but I can understand where people would get it from and, hell, I love Roy, too, so.... ^_~ This site has really, really great lineart, fantastic shading, a lot of discipline and does a fantastic Roy. There's also an illustration of Lust, Envy, and the little one I can never remember the name of that's just awesome. I would have liked to have seen what the artist could do with color in her art (I didn't see any colored illustrations on the site), but she does a great job with b&w all on her own, too. (Some RoyxHawkeye.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - BM. [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This site is so cute! The illustrations do tend to be on the "cutesy" side (making Edward look very young), but I kind of like it, because it's very... light and sweet and cute. The lines of the art are lovely and the artist has a strong sense of shading--her comics are gorgeous for this, especially when Roy is lightly kissing Edward's forehead in the second one, very... atmospheric. Or when he's braiding Edward's hair, which should have been sappy and cliche, but it wasn't.... *wibbles* What gets me is the feeling of this artist's illustrations--like, the one in the library where Roy is getting a book for Edward because he can't reach it immediately spawned an entire little scenario around it in my head. I love it when an artist captures the feeling of the series so well like that. (No real warnings/pairing themes.)

- Gundam SEED/Inuyasha/Full Metal Alchemist - SEED [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Oddly enough, I stumbled over the Gundam SEED fanart on this site first and was just... impressed as all hell, because the art is fantastic. The artist's lines are incredibly professional looking, her shading fantastic and detail amazing; if the colors were a bit more CG-ish, I think I could almost have mistaken her lineart for official work, that's how good it is. I may not come across/seek out much G-SEED art, but this is one of the best ones I've seen, I think. There isn't much FMA art here just yet, but what there is is nice--I especially giggled over the Roy vs Ed!Snowman and cooed over Edward looking so very pretty in some of the other illustrations. The Inuyasha art is also gorgeous, there's an absolutely stunning one of Sesshoumaru that just looks damn near professional. I love. (Some shounen ai, some het.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - The art on this site is amazing, some of them I could literally have mistaken for official art if I hadn't known better, that's how well the artist nails the style. The colors are perfect, the lines and proportions are perfect, everything is just absolutely uncanny with how well the artist gets down the style of the anime. Of course, then you go off into the sketches and b&w art and that's where I really started to twirl because the color images are more gen than anything, but the comics have a nice Roy/Ed slant to them (and if you can hunt down the under gallery, there's some Roy/Ed there, so I know the artist likes them) while still having that same incredible style that's so perfect. I just... I *heart* so frickin much. Gorgeous art. (Some light Roy/Ed, but the site is half-gen, too.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Wunsch [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Right from the top illustration (which is a fabulous group illustration that I love to bits), I knew I would like this site. The artist is very talented, the details and lines are really strong, and the art is just... it's very reminiscent of the series itself, the artist really captures the feel of FMA's promotional art with her style. Her eyes are especially detailed, which is something I always, always love to see, her colors and shading are very strong and just... yeah. She really gets the feel of the promotional art down. Plus, there's this wonderful one of Hughes and his wife and daughter that just completely made me melt. *loves* And even I admit that the one of Ed and Winry was pretty. ^_~ (No real pairings/warnings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - CUA [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - There's not a lot of FMA art here (only eight illustrations) and it's not even my usual pairings, but I had to rec this site because the level of details on the Ed illustrations is amazing and because the images of Roy and Hawkeye are beautiful. The colors are fantastic, the details are fantastic, and while the art is very CG-ish (you can tell especially around the hair and eyes), I find myself still entranced by the art, because it's just so... well, pretty. Plus, the illustrations of just Ed are great, so... well, detailed and pretty and well-done. I have nothing more to say. :x (Some Roy/Hawkeye.)

- Full Metal Alchemist/Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Oddly, I think it was the oekaki/sketches of Lust that won me over with this site, because I have a real weakness for a beautifully drawn Lust illustration. This is one of those sites where a lot of the art doesn't really hit me, but about every seventh image or so... I'm just struck by a particular oekaki or fanart that's just... well, cool or cute or whatever. The artist occasionally draws the characters a little more rounded them I'm used to, but she also draws a kick ass Scar fanart and there was this one absolutely beautiful Roy/Hawkeye illustration. And if I'm saying that.... ^_~ There's also an incredible one of all three sins. *__* The Naruto art is largely gen, but there are a few you could take as het hints, I suppose. I fell in love with the artist largely for her Lee illustrations, but there was a very fucking CREEPY cool Orochimaru one and a kick ass Ino/Sakura one that I loved. And HAKU. ;____; Anyway, very solid site the further you get into it with a lot of cute illustrations that I recommend. (Some light Roy/Hawkeye.)

- Full Metal Alchemist/Samurai Troopers - HIOUTEI [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Wow, the art on this site is just... gorgeous, some of the illustrations of Ed are just amazing in the detail, the colors (which are incredible), and the lines/proportions. Some of them really verge on breath-taking, especially the detail in Ed's hair or the cool effect of falling leaves in one of the illustrations or Roy looking gorgeous or the one that's sunlight falling over Ed's shoulders while he looks down with a serious expression. Just... wow. And then I explored the site some more to find some incredible YST illustrations (the one of Seiji was just drop-dead gorgeous) and illustrations for just about every other series. This is one of those sites that I loved so much not only because the art was amazing, but because it had so many of the series I liked. Though, there weren't enough of most of them to rec besides FMA and YST, but there were Prince of Tennis, Saiyuki, One Piece, and Harukanaru Toki no Nakade illustrations there. (No real pairing themes.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - *fawns madly* Wow, the underlying lineart of this artist is gorgeous and just beautifully in proportion. Then she does beautiful colors on top of that and wonderful inking and a really nice amount of detail and really nice poses. This is one of those artists who has pretty much everything I look for in fanart, I really can't sing her praises highly enough. There's one of Roy that just utterly breaks my heart, there's a stunning one of Winry, there's one of the Hughes family that makes me wibble with love, there's this one of Ed with a sort of fragile smile that just tears at me and they're all so gorgeously drawn. Her Ed is just... wonderful, I want to hug him so much. And her Roy... god, I would have his flaminggaybabies in a heartbeat. Amazing, amazing art. (No pairings/warnings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Full Metal Dust [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Originally, I wasn't going to rec this site because it only had a handful of illustrations on it, but... I really like this artist and think she's one I want to keep an eye on. Her art is lovely, she does fantastic colors, and illustrations that I just coo over. But there were two illustrations that stood out for me especially--one was an illustration of Roy/Ed (though, the site isn't really very Roy/Ed-centric, just light hints... unless you can figure out the password for the undgeround section, which I cannot ~_~) that was just beautiful, the other was quite possibly the angiest Roy illustration I've ever seen. *punts the chibi over to cheer him up* T_____T I had to rec this site for those alone. (Mostly gen, a tiny bit of Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - BIG EAR [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - ......I am completely and utterly in love with this site. Seriously. The art isn't traditionally pretty, but it has the most incredible level of detail to the illustrations, the kind that just... well, as I was going through this site, I was talking to Vikki and comparing the art style to One Piece, because the parallels between the two series' art popped into my head and just struck me. The art isn't traditionally pretty, but there's so much detail in the background that the entire image comes alive, you get a feel for the whole world in which the image is set. Looking at these images, you could stare at them for an hour and probably not see everything in it--plus, the artist really has the feel of the HagaRen world down. That is what made this artist do incredibly stunning artwork and made me just goggle over every last illustration. Fantastic work here. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Last Exile/Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I might not have rec'd this site on its own just for the FMA fanart, but when I got to the Last Exile stuff... oooh, I knew I had to, because it's such a rare treat to find LE fanart, much less such prettypretty stuff. The artist uses this softened effect on her art that really works well with her style--it makes the one of Alex and Sopha just beautiful. As for the FMA fanart, it's cute stuff, very nice. I was especially fond of the one of Roy playing the violin and there's one of Ed standing in filtered sunlight that has just gorgeous colors. So, it was a nice site to run through this afternoon. ^_^v (Some potential het, but it's more gen than anything.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - DAT [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - It was the illustration with Roy's hand around Ed's throat and Ed's extended arm poised at Roy's throat that got my attention on this site and made me go *___* at the fabulously detailed art. Then I started working my way back through the rest of the gallery and this artist is really talented, she especially does fantastic details on the art and really nice painted colors. There's one of Scar that's just incredibly done and a gorgeous one of Lust. There's also an amazingly detailed one of Ed where his arm is just... wow. So, I was quite impressed by this site even if there's not really a whole lot of art here. XD;; (No warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist/Harry Potter - Cotton Cross [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This is another one of those sites that I wasn't sure about at first, but the more I went through the gallery, the more I was steadily won over by the artist's skilled usage of color. She uses these golden, glowing tones to her art that are just warm and that make everything look so lovely that I wibble with love. There's one of Ed, Al, and the chimera that's just... it's stunning how beautiful it is. Her shading is just fantastic, giving everything such a rich feeling to the art, not to mention her lines are just fantastic. As you can see, I'm quite, quite in love with this site. *fangirls* And the Harry Potter art is much the same; all these warm colors, richly detailed illustrations, and so much feeling put into the art. Sooooo much love. *hanyan~* (No real warnings/pairings themes.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Kotokotoland [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - What made me fall in love with this site were the sketches, because, damn, this artist can draw the characters fabulously. They're fantastic, they really look like the characters so amazingly well, and each one is like a little piece of a story (possibly from doujinshi sketches...?). There's also the regular illustrations and the artist does wonderful things with subtle watercolors, some of them just fantastic. There's one of Roy especially that has me drooling and panting over it. This site was one of those all-around solid sites that was a nice treat this morning. ^_^v (No warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - akuta-ya [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - The more and more I explored this site, the more and more I just fell in love with it. The artist uses these softer, muted colors (that are almost golden and slate blue combinations that work so well for FMA) and these gorgeous lines and tones to her art that just has me a wibbling mess in the corner. And the content! She does some of the most WONDERFUL Elric-family art (the Elric Kyoudai or Ed and Al with their mother *LOVES*), there are a couple of illustrations of Ed leaning into Al's hand with this look on his face that just makes you want to give him a hug. And then there's the Roy/Ed. *fangirls* The artist never draws anything too risque, but manages to capture the intimancy and chemistry of the pairing so well--there are a couple of illustrations of Roy leaning over to kiss Ed that just make me *____*. There's also a beautiful comic tucked away in the FMA section of Roy lying down next to a sleeping Ed (they're both almost fully clothed, the only thing missing is Roy's jacket and they never even touch) that just took my breath away with how stunning it was. This site was a real treasure. *loves* (Some gen, some Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - RARE [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I think I knew that when I got to naked!Ed who was smirking while leaning into Roy that I knew I loved this site. XD The artist actually does her best work with b&w images, I think, because it shows off the incredible shading she does and lets you focus on her really solid, pretty lineart. Though, there is this one of Ed and Al in color (Ed leaning on Al's armor, Al with a bird in his head) that's just lovely and there are a couple of Ed illustrations early on in the gallery that are just wonderful for him. But it's the Roy/Ed that really, really captures my head--Roy sweetly carrying Ed to bed, leaning into him while he does so or Ed looking up with a sweet expression at him or the smirking, nekkid!Ed illustration or so on. They're just... beautiful and fun and really capture the feeling of the characters. This site was very, very nice to go through today. ♥ (Roy/Ed, some gen.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Red Castle [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I could swear I'd visited this site before, but I'm not finding it on any of my list of links, so if I rec it twice... well, I assume it's worth going back to visit again. XD The thing I love about this artist is a bit difficult to put into words, but she has this ability to make the characters' eyes (especially Ed's) almost these jewel-tone colors, very vivid but without being gaudy. I find myself always straying back to their eyes, because they're so pretty... but the softened effect she uses very lightly also makes the colors very pretty. There are occasional illustrations on this site that are just flat-out gorgeous--the one of the Elric family is bittersweetly gorgeous, the group one of all the character was gorgeous, and the one of all the military characters? LOVE. *___* There's also one of Roy with this pretty blue background that's beautiful and one of Ed with a determined look on his face in the middle of a transmutation which is stunning. *lovelovelove* (No real pairnings/warnings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - GRIMM [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - As soon as I started clicking through the gallery on this site, I was pretty sure this site would be going on up my recs page because it started off with this lovely illustration of Ed and Al against a beautifully drawn blue sky that just... impressed the hell out of me. I'm not sure I can even describe it, it was just something about it. Then there was a prettypretty Roy Mustang next, then an absolutely adorable one of Al and Ed as kids, and there is a stunning one of Hawkeye, a beautiful one of Ed holding Al's head, and then the beautiful one of Ed leaning into Roy where the use of lines and color and pose just took my breath away. Even going through the site a second time, I couldn't tell you what made me squee over this site so much, I just know that I really, really liked it. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I admit, it took me a little while to be won over by this site, it was very much on the cutesy side and that always takes me a bit, but... then I saw the (one) illustration of Winry with a chibi!Al in her arms and I melted into a squee'ing pile of fangirl goo and knew I had to rec the site. The artist's strength is in the adorableness of each and every illustration--she especially does adorable Ed and Al as kids, just really capturing the "OMG SO CUTE!!!" aspect of both of them. This site is going to be especially liked by those who squeebabble over the Elric Kyoudai and how cute they can be--but I enjoyed it for the illustrations of all the other characters, too. Just an all-around abso-friggin'-lutely adorable site. Yes, it deserved that term and the italics. XD (No warnings/pairings.)
