- Full Metal Alchemist - Stay Away [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Dammit, I was sunk on this site when I started going through the diary art, because there were some really adorable/pretty comics in there, but... then I hit the Roy/Ed wedding one, promptly literally started giggling out loud and was just SOLD on the site. It was Roy picking up Ed in a wedding dress, carting him off, while everyone else stood around for the ceremony... including ghost!angel!Trisha and ghost!angel!Hughes. It was beautiful. ♥♥♥ Plus, there are some lovely other Roy/Ed comics, there's one of Envy turning into Alicia to kill Hughes... with a BRILLIANT reaction from Hughes and one of Trisha watching over Roy and Ed... it's just one of those sites that's full of these pretty (I love her shading and the smoothness of her lines) and hysterical illustrations. Sometimes that's exactly what I want--to go to a site and just start giggling at the cleverness of the artist. ♥ (Some Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist/Spiral/Gundam SEED - Omega+Gimmick [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, I was hesitant to rec this site at first, because I have a lot of negative associations with the pairing after the atrocious behavior of (several of--not all, mind) the fans on the English-speaking side of the ocean, but... well, to be honest, I was won over by the Roy/Ed art on the site, which was lovely. There was this one that just took my breath away because of the lines and the colors, not necessarily traditionally pretty, but if you're an art junkie like me, the feeling of it was grand. There were also some gorgeous Roy illustrations, some adorable Winry illustrations, some pretty Hawkeye illustrations, and a squee-worthy Winry/Al illustration that had me dancing a little jig. I like the watercolor-type style and, hell, I figured if the Japanese fen can be tolerant and like all things, I can, too. The Spiral art is just... cute, even if the pairing isn't my favorite. Ayu/Hiyono doesn't hit me quite the right way, but I HAD to rec this site because the art is just so PRETTY; it's more of the same watercolor-like style that give the illustrations these soft, gentle feel to them without being all sacchirine or shoujo-y. As for the Gundam SEED art, it continues in the same vein--very soft, pretty colors, watercolors-type style, a good selection of just about all the characters. I have a real fondness for sites that cover a wide range of stuff. ^_^ Plus, even more than her other art, the artist's lines look fine and detailed here, making it all just really PRETTY. Or, you know, I could just be squee'ing because the artist drew a Kira/Frey illustration and I still have massive Frey love. It was just the one, I think, but that was still enough to win me over. ♥ However, the Kagari 22 section is chock-full of BEAUTIFUL illustrations. *__* (Roy/Ed, Roy/Hawkeye, a little Ed/Winry, Ayu/Hiyono, all over the place with G-SEED, a slight nudity warning.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, I just had to rec this site because... well, the color art in the first part of the gallery is really cute (almost chibi-ish in style), especially because the artist's lines are so solid (if still chibi XD;; ) and her coloring/shading is so well-done. Plus, the first Roy/Ed one is of Roy bending over to give Ed a hug, who's definitely returning it, and I just wibble at the idea of that because Ed needs lots and lots of hugs. ;___; But what really won me over with this site were the comics, because they were just so cute and so pretty! XD The first one to catch my attention was of Roy bending over to kiss the sleeping Ed... for a really long time, which cracked me up. The biggest highlight of the site, though, is the second tea comic, which is multiple pages and just... *happy sigh* Roy looks so pretty, Ed looks so pretty, and, yeeeeeeee, Ed straddling Roy's hips when he knocks him onto the ground for saying something stupid. And then Roy's wandering hands.... XDXDXD Ooh! Ooh! And there was this totally gorgeous one of Winry! ♥ This is a badly written rec, but the site is really cute and fun, so ignore me and go look at the artist's pretty pictures instead. XD (Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - honoren [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Generally, I try not to rec things that are too small/short, but occasionally I make exceptions based on whim and this is going to be one of them. ^_~ I just... I dunno quite how to describe it, but a lot of it started with the very first illustration I clicked onto with this page where Roy in the background (with Ed in the foreground) looked just incredible--that sort of not-quite-shoujo style that has delicate lines but doesn't look girly that puts stars in my eyes. The bishounen look, I suppose. I just... I go for that. But the rest of the site was a lot of fun--there were a couple of ADORABLE Ed chibis, there was a fantastic one of Ed and Roy in German military outfits (I think?), an absolutely stunning one of Roy, Ed, and Winry that had some incredible detail to it, and still more. So, yeah, one of those sites that scratched that itch for me this morning. ^_^v (Some Roy/Ed.)

- Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit that I have a little bit of an ulterior motive in rec'ing this site, because it's a Tezuka x Ryoma site and I'm generally not wild about the pairing, which is largely because I hate the way fans of the pairing have behaved in the English fandom. However, god knows I tend to be stubborn and dig my heels and refuse to give up something if people are pissing me off, so when I saw this site was ZukaRyo, I nearly turned right around and didn't give a second look, but... dammit, these are my characters, too. So. Well. Yes. Anyway, the artist is a little wobbly in her art early on, but some of the later illustrations tighten up to look a lot better, get less shakey. She does the kind of ZukaRyo that I think I could actually almost sorta kinda like, especially when they're in the rain and Tezuka's holding Ryoma or in the "Double Zone" poster-style one that's just pretty (the colors are fantastic) or when the artist draws a really cute FujiRyo or when the artist draws these absolutely ADORABLE chibis. It's not my ultimate favorite site, but it was cute enough for me to want to put on the list just to be ornery. >:P As for the FMA fanart... oh, my dear god, there is the CUTEST THING EVER in that section!! There's a kitty!Roy picking up a kitty!Ed and tossing him over his shoulder and that illustration alone was worth this rec. *___* But it's also the "crack" comic because pages 5 and 6 have this incredible amount of EMOTION in them that just... *__* blows me away, really. I LOVE that kind of stuff. (TezukaRyoma, FujiRyoma, RoyEd.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Top Secret [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Given how much I've crawled all over the J-fandom with FMA sites, it's rare that I find a site like this these days--one with just beautiful art on it. *__* A few are a little shakey, but EVERYTHING is still really pretty; the colors, the lines, the poses, just... I was a swoony fangirl by the time I was done. The artist draws a fantastic Ed, the kind that makes you love him even more (especially on That Night when he's crawling over to Al's armor or when he's standing back to back with Roy and smirking) and a Roy that plays havoc with my hormones (those said back to back illustrations with Ed or when he's posing and smirking on his own) and a wonderful human!Al that's just gorgeous. The colors are these beautiful shades that are light and airy... but not really pastel or girly, they're just perfect for this kind of art. The lines are delicate, but without being overly so. Just... yeah. Beautiful, beautiful art, to the point where I spazz over it and get incoherent. >_> (A little Al/Ed and Roy/Ed, if the unions are any indication, but there's a lot of gen, too.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Hope Factory [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There were a couple of Roy/Ed illustrations on this site that just... completely and utterly won me over. The first one I noticed was Ed pulling a surprised Roy down to his level by the lapels that just... the artist drew them really well and used these prettypretty colors and used the softener effect really well that I just... I went all fangirly over it and swooned. She also draws them both very nicely in military uniforms and there's one of Roy leaning over to kiss him and we see it through the window and there's a gorgeous one of just Ed himself and then there are pretty comics... yeah, okay, I'm not coherent right now (am I ever? ^_~), but this site was very cute and nice and I had a lot of fun with it. She has a very clean and simplistic CG style that works well with the softened effect and was a nice stop. ^_^v (Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - Cat A Lounge [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was a little slow to come around with this site... the art in the regular gallery (versus the comics or whatnot) was cute, but not sure I was in love yet... but THEN I got to the COMICS and EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My fangirling cannot be contained! Because the artist's strengths really come through--her lines are terrific, very clean and smooth, yet still pretty and detailed. Her Roy looks gorgeous and her Ed is gorgeous and the poses she puts them in (especially when Roy is daydreaming about Ed and actual!Ed picks up on the hentaisa's thoughts and goes ballistic XD) are alternately hysterical and wonderful. But there are also comics like the one of Ed having a bad dream about his mother falling apart (like in the manga) that are heart-wrenching and then there are comics of Roy pulling Ed into his lap and kissing him (not that it ends well for Roy, mind--though, he does get a good amount of kissing time in XD) and then there's the one of Roy giving Ed a hug that's both gorgeous and when the single tear slides down his cheek and the level of detail and subtlty that's conveyed just through their expressions... and just... each and every one of these comics is a gem. I could continue to go on (especially about how amazingly well the artist draws the lines of their hair and eyes, making them look both fantastic and keeping the original style, yet still being so effing PRETTY and how she does the BEST chibi!Roy in shock EVER or the BEST pissed-off!Ed or the most GORGEOUS kisses), but... well, I've fangirled enough. Just... yeah, I'm in love with this site. *wibbles madly* (Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another one of those sites that I waffled on a bit, but eventually fell prey to a handful of illustrations that I thought were just so cool. There's this one of Ed smirking while those little black things are decomposing his body that's just one of the coolest things EVER. I know it sounds like it shouldn't be, but it was. Oh! But even cooler than that! Ed with this intense look and half smirk on his face as his shirt is ripped to shreds was just... *__*-inducing, because of the fantastic lines of the art. And that's the artist's real strength, I think--her lines (the characters LOOK like themselves) and her poses are effing COOL. Oh! Oh! And be sure to hit the one of Ed crawling along the ground (I think?) with this LOOK on his face and only the one eye exposed... it's kind of creepy, but it looks fantastic. And. Of course. The chibi-esque illustration of Roy and Envy BOTH sidling up to Ed with his adorable put-upon expression. ♥ And the Valentine's Day comic! XD ....which, really, is what made me like this site, more than that I was blown away by the artist's style or anything--there are a lot of individual illustrations here that I'd definitely recommend. (A little Roy/Ed, some gen, too.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Sometimes, all it takes for me to like a site is that a couple of the comics made me laugh (like the one with Roy staaaaaaaaaaaanding over Ed from the first episode of the anime or so and Pinako holds a knife on him for staring at Ed or the one where Izumi and Roy meet or the one where Roy writes Ed a letter, who throws it away and Roy's reaction... things like that) or I just need a couple of illustrations that made me wibble terribly (there're these rough sketches of Roy, Ed, Al, and Winry that just... they're so soft, sweet, gentle, and almost... cozy or homey, in a way that I don't know how to describe, that I nearly wibbled right through the floor--plus, the one of Ed and Roy leaning their foreheads against each other and smiling *fangirls!*) or just needs to have something that caught my attention and amused me (Edoko here amused me greatly--chick!Ed in a sundress and looking really pretty and walking along with Roy? Fantastic. Chick!Edoko in an outfit much like Izumi's? Beautiful. ♥). This site had all of that, so I consider it a find. ^_^v (Some Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - *mad fangirl flailing* OMG! The cuteness! It wounds me! Just... this site isn't necessarily going to be for everyone, it's pure chibi art, yet very suggestive (everyone is nosebleeding over chibi!Ed in suggestive poses), but I took one look at the site and FELL IN LOVE. OMG! *flails* The lines and colors are gorgeous and the artist just has this... way with the characters that turns me into an incoherent fangirl squee'ing for all she's worth. She does an absolutely stunning Roy (the one or two times she draws him full-size), there's this one of him with a flame wrapped around his hand that is SO PRETTY. But her Ed is also just beautiful and she draws these gorgeous, gorgeous chibis. Kitty!chibi!Ed in the cardboard box wounds me with the cuteness and the illustration where about twenty chibi Eds are bouncing around while Hughes, Roy, and Armstrong try to corral them is the CUTEST THING EVER. Seriously. Even more than the fantastic use of CG or how amazing the artists lines/colors are, the art is squee-worthy and the kind of site that makes me incoherent with the love. *flails some more* ♥♥♥♥♥ (Some Roy/Ed, some Al/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site was just... cute. The artist does a good job of capturing the CG style and character designs that the anime itself had--strong, clean lines with strong, clean coloring that wasn't blocky or clunky. Plus, it's hard not to like a site that has pissy!Ed sitting in Roy's lap or Ed being absolutely adorable in a fur-trimmed version of his regular red coat or silly kitty comics. Ooh, or Ed smirking, half undressed, and with one of Roy's gloves in his mouth. That one was nice, too. ♥ (Ed/Roy.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Not every last illustration on this site knocks me onto my ass, but the ones that do? Gorgeous. Just, knock-me-on-my-ass gorgeous, I felt. There were about nine illustrations that just... guh. Guh. Guh. GUH. SO PRETTY. The lines aren't too harsh, but they're not too soft, either, they're that sort of in-between that I go nuts over. The colors vary from illustration to illustration, but they're all appropriate for the wonderful poses the characters are in--there's this really soft, gently colored one of Roy and Ed in bed that takes my fangirl breath away. There's one of Roy leaning over Ed, after pulling him back towards himself with rosepetals swirling through the air that's just... it should be overly romantic and sappy, but somehow the tone is just right for them and I fell in love. Then there's the one of Roy lighting a cigarette at home, coffee in hand, lying back in bed, phone tucked against one ear that is just... one of the hottest things EVER. And then there's the Roy/Ed wedding that's both hysterical (Ed looks gorgeous and I'm in lust with Roy *__*) and beautiful. ....and I really could go on forever about this site, but I'll be quiet now. Go see the pretty art. *__* (Roy/Ed.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - For some reason, the brighter colors this site uses, along with the finely detailed art, just WORKS for me. With another artist, they might have been too much or too bright or something, but with THIS artist, somehow they make the art just SO PRETTY. *fangirls* Beyond that, there's this one Roy/Ed kiss illustration with Ed in Roy's arms that has the most beautifully detailed lines that look straight out of one of the most beautiful doujinshi books ever. I fell in LOVE. *___* There's also a two-page Roy/Ed comic about Ed's hair that makes me fangirl madly (especially with Roy leaning in to smell it XD), oh, and I think there might have been some cute Al and Ed illustrations, too. XD;; It's hard to explain why I liked this site, even if, say, Ed's coat was closer to pink than red, but even THAT just sorta worked for me with this artist. It was... just one of those sites that made me fangirl, I can't explain it any better than that. XD;; (Some Roy/Ed, some Al/Ed hinted at.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - m i m e [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's something about this site that... every third illustration or so just seems so incredibly well-done, the lines are perfect, the colors are perfect, the level of detail is perfect, and the proportions are absolutely amazing, and I just sort of sit there and stare at the image because it's so pretty. The artist does a fantastic Ed, the kind where he's not just pretty, but his eyes really draw you in and there's no way you could NOT look at him. I also absolutely love her coloring, which isn't quite like an oil painting, but still captures that rich and lush feeling to the colors. Plus, she also does some fabulous comics (there's one with an older Ed that's just beautiful-looking), she does a fantastic Ed in military uniform, a gorgeous Roy with glasses in one of the comics, and just... that indescribable quality that makes me do the mad squee'ing thing. XD (Some Roy/Ed, a lot of gen.)

- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I sat here for quite some time and tried to figure out if I wanted to rec this site or not, because, to be honest, I'm hesitant that people will snag Haruka Sena's fanart again. Her Gravitation fanart is used willy-nilly in the Gravitation fandom and it drives me a little insane. I don't want the same thing to happen to her Full Metal Alchemist fanart. On the other hand... OH MY GOD HOLY SHIT SO GORGEOUS. *____* My reaction to the site? As soon as Di-chan logged on, I immediately said to her: "Haruka Sena doing RoyEd fanart. I have no need for the rest of the day, as it has served its purpose~ *floats~*" And that's really how I feel. Everything that I loved about her artwork with Gravitation is fully present here as well--gorgeous, gorgeous lines, incredible coloring, and she just... she knocks EVERY SINGLE ILLUSTRATION out of the park. There are no fanarts here that are half-assed, they're all incredible, beautiful, and stunning. And when she draws Roy and Ed in the middle of an alchemy fight on a starry background? I sit and STARE at it, because it's both beautiful and incredibly detailed. When she draws a group illustration with all of them? I sit and STARE because her characters are just so damned beautiful. When she draws the guys in the onsen? I continue to stare and drool. And I love that she draws the female characters, too, because they're stunningly beautiful under her hand. But honestly? Her Roy is just the ultimate. He's... well, gorgeous. When he draws him in glasses? OH MY GOD SO HOT. *__* I cannot sing the praises of this site high enough, it's beautiful. Totally one of my favorites, just for the amount of swooning I did alone. Just remember... no takey. And normally I don't go on at length about that, but.... (Some Roy/Ed, some gen.)

- Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist - OVER x REACTION [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I will admit that the art does start out a little simplistic, but I kept clicking because the artist showed potential with her FMA art... and then I got about four or five illustrations in and the artist REALLY tightened up and did what is quite possibly the most beautiful Hawkeye fanart EVER. And then she did a gorgeous RoyEd illustration with these amazing warm colors and a beautiful sense of intimacy without really showing anything... and, yeah, I was pretty much gone by then. Plus, I really like her Prince of Tennis fanart, because she draws Ryoma really cute and rather pretty at the same time and the one TezuRyo illustration on the site is one of the few I like for that pairing. Plus, she did a REALLY NICE FujiRyo illustration and a SUPER ADORABLE Ryoma and Karupin. <3 The whole site wound up being one of those that I just... enjoyed, really. ♥ (Some RoyEd, some RoyAi, some Tenipuri shounen ai without any real themes beyond Ryoma.)
