- Houshin Engi/Naruto - Bird Sheep [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I've rec'd this site before for their Hikaru no Go art, but that was back before I was looking more for Houshin Engi or Naruto fanart, I think. I love this artist's style, it's so warm and she really makes the golden colors work for her. I wasn't too terribly impressed with the first few Naruto illustrations I saw until I got to the Kakashi/Naruto one, which is just gorgeous. I just... love everything about the way she drew Kakashi, from his outfit to his hair, to what we can see of his face to his gloves to everything. Actually, both of the Naruto/Kakashi illustrations are just gorgeous, and I adore the one of Naruto out of his usual orange jumper. Yum. :9

The Houshin Engi illustrations are on the same level as the Hikaru no Go ones, just full of these gorgeous colors and details and clean lines and just... I love this artist, one of my absolute favorites. And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to drool over their latest Kaga/Hikaru illustrations. *_* (Some mild shounen ai hints, but nothing more than some suggestive hugging.)

- Naruto/Prince of Tennis - eks [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Wow, pretty! This is one of those artists who, with a little work, could almost be up there with official art--the lines are very solid, just detailed enough, and the colors very nice. There's a wonderful one of Haku and a couple of really nice Kakashi ones and while it's not my pairing, there's a gorgeous Kakashi/Sasuke illustration. The art starts out as very good, but by the time you get to the first real SasuNaru illustration, it's really good and I love the way the eyes are so bright and seem to almost sparkle.

As for the PoT stuff... oh, I can't help it, I just like this artist. They draw a very nice Tezuka and, I swear, Fuji had his shirt off more often than it was on. XD The colors are solid again, very solid, and the art itself sometimes okay, sometimes very, very good--a couple of them made me go all squeaky-fangirl, too. ^_^; Okay, I don't know the names of all the other teams or their members, but... they're still very pretty. ^_^; (Several shounen ai pairings, including TezukaFuji.)

- Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Whoo, is there a lot of fanart on this site, and I had a lot of fun going through it all. ^_^v Not all of it is to my particular taste, but then I come across an illustration where one of the characters is in the middle of summoning an attack and I'm just so impressed by the details of their attack. And, of course, the most important thing is that the artist draws Kakashi-sensei quite well. =^_^= Anyway, there's a good selection of characters here, the artist has some solid talent, and occasionally there's an illustration that I find myself just absolutely loving. (Lots of shounen ai, pretty much EveryonexNaruto, occasional nudity of female characters.)

- Naruto - Moonshine Garden [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I like that this site (mostly) divided up the coupling KakaNaru illustrations and put them in a seperate gallery--since I have trouble with that pairing, it was nice knowing what I was going into. And while it's not my favorite pairing, I found that I really enjoyed the illustrations... they're just beautiful. Such soft, beautiful colors, the not-quite sketch-like quality really working for the style, and some really kick-ass poses. There are also some gorgeous illustrations in the regular gallery--there's this one of a little Naruto holding up a Kakashi-sensei snowman that just melts my cold little heart. And Anbu!Kakashi.... *starry eyes* And there's a stunning illustration of Naruto and the 4th Hokage that made me fall in love with the characters all over again. *_* (Some Kakashi/Naruto.)

- Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This artist is really, really good. The drawings and lines are fantastic, the colors wonderful, and the poses kick-ass. I really like the style they use, it's not one I see often used with the Naruto characters (and I'd be hard-pressed to explain it, but if you've seen enough J-fanart, you'll know what I mean), but I like it with this artist's style. There's also this one of Kakashi in the main gallery, of him standing in water with these white flowers around him that is just gorgeous. I swoon. There's also some Asuma/Kakashi hentai (as well as the odd random yaoi pairing) if you keep looking around the site long enough, if that's your thing. ^_^ (Some Asuma/Kakashi, yaoi.)

- Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This artist's work is just beautiful, using a lot of warmer colors that I associate with the series and the illustrations themselves almost seeming to glow in that way I love so much. Naruto is heart-meltingly cute, Kakashi is gorgeous, and the lines and details of the illustrations beautiful. Normally, I'm not much for the Kakashi/Naruto pairing, but when it's art like this, I find myself not caring, not even twitching, and just going, "Ooohhh... so pretty.... *_*) (Some Kakashi/Naruto.)

- Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I knew right from the top illustration of the adorable little chibis sharing a scarf, that I was going to like this site. And wow were some of these illustrations just gorgeous. *_* The colors are amazing and the style is this really, really cool sort of almost water-colors-like style. There's this one of a bloodied and battered Iruka in blood-spattered Anbu!Kakashi's grip, a fiercly protective look on his face that just floored me with how beautiful it was, along with an Anbu!Kakashi in a sakura tree looking down at Iruka standing on the ground that's just got some gorgeous coloring. Geh. I'm losing the ability to be coherent again, that's how much I adore this site. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. *_* (Mostly Kakashi/Iruka, a tiny bit of Iruka/Sakura.)

- Naruto - ituka [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - .....guh. I love this site. Just completely, absolutely love it. *_* Kakashi and Iruka are just gorgeous, just absolutely gorgeous--the colors are amazing, the lines amazing, the characters beautiful, the poses heart-warming and wonderful and cool, and I'm losing the ability to be coherent over how much I just absolutely love this site. Kakashi and Iruka kissing just made me a swooning fangirl, but then I started getting into the slightly more ecchi fanart and I just... lost my brain, I loved this site so much. Kakashi and Iruka in kimono with Iruka's legs wrapped around Kakashi... I could not stop staring at the illustration, because I loved it so. And holy Christ, this site does the best RavishMe!Iruka I've ever seen. +_+, yeah, you could say I liked this site a little bit. +_____+ (Kakashi/Iruka, Asuma/Iruka.)

- Tenshi ni Narumon!/Naruto - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - *_* Other than maybe a handful of pictures here and there, I don't think I've ever seen Tennimon fanart--much less quite a lot of it and so very pretty. *_* The colors are just soft and pale enough to be gorgeous with the shoujo tones of the series, plus, the characters are lovely, the poses/concepts of the illustrations are fantastic, and there's a big focus on Raphael and Mikael. I knew right from first seeing the illustration of Raphael standing over Mikael sleeping at the window that I was going to love this site and I was so not disappointed. Gorgeous, gorgeous art and of a series I don't see enough of. I love. +_+

I also really liked the Naruto illustrations on the site, there are some nice Haku and Zabuza illustrations here and I always have a soft spot for those two. Haku is lovely in his solo illustrations, but I think it's the second Zabuza/Haku illustration, the one of them standing back to back that's my favorite, it's just beautiful. *_* (Some Raphael/Mikael and some Zabuza/Haku.)

- Naruto - grappe [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Hemlocke pointed this site out to me and I'm really, really glad because it's outside of my normal KakaIru wanderings (I have my priorities, ne? ^_~) and it's just an amazing site--one of those ones that does such solid, pretty work for the characters and makes me fall in love with Naruto fanart all over again. And, damn, Itachi is hot. *_* What impresses me is that the art so often has this mood to it, that indescribable quality I love so much when it comes to Naruto fanart, it's something with the shading and the not-quite-sketch-like quality of the art, something that just makes me go *piku* and have fun clicking through the entire gallery--the top illustrations are especially gorgeous. *_* (Uchiha-centric, some SasuSaku.)

- Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist/Naruto - [ English Fan Art Site ] - This is another artist that Yin pointed me to and I was happily going through the art, but KNEW I had to rec the artist when I came across her absolutely gorgeous Sakura/Ino illustration. The artist does gorgeous things with light, airy colors, often pastels, but the kind that work perfectly. Everything seems to almost... but not quite... glow, making all the art look beautiful. The lineart is absolutely wonderful as well, I swoon, really. I originally came here for the TeniPuri art, but I think I actually like the Naruto art a lot more, it's fantastic. Oh, and I have got to mention her FMA art--the one of Roy and Ed is incredible and I dearly, dearly hope to see more from the artist. (Some yaoi/shounen ai, but no single theme.)

- Prince of Tennis/Bleach/Full Metal Alchemist/Death Note/Naruto - [ English Fanart Site ] - Oh, I knew I'd be rec'ing this artist when I saw the KakaIru chibis with the cake, because HOLY SHIT THAT IS SO FUCKING CUTE EEEEEEEEE OMG LOVE LOVE LOVE SQUEEEEEEEEE is pretty much the response I had. But there is also this utterly fantastic five-page FMA comic with Ed and a little chibi Roy that just... *sporfles* oh, it's pretty and utterly hysterical. There's also this utterly gorgeous Roy illustration, a heart-breaking Hughes one, a couple of beautifully colored Death Note illustrations, a couple of beautiful Bleach illustrations, and even a couple of adorable Tenipuri ones. I just... I really like the artist's coloring, it's that kind of richly textured look that makes everything look so pretty, in addition to REALLY nice lines. Just... very fun artist here, especially the FMA and Naruto stuff. (Some KakaIru, some other shounen ai pairings, but no real themes.)

- Naruto - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was won over by this site by how it was just... a really solid, good site. I was probably mostly won over by the handful of KakaIru illustrations on the site, but I think I'm ultimately rec'ing this site because it has a variety of things, because I like the illustration of Hinata or I liked the illustration of Anko and Kakashi or I liked the illustration of Iruka and Naruto or I liked the oekaki illustrations--which are really kinda cool. XD And, interestingly enough, I found I kinda liked the Kakashi/Anko illustrations here. They were well-done. As were... well, everything I suppose. One of those mish-mash sites that I just... liked. XD (A little tiny bit of KakaIru, some KakaAnko, lots and lots of gen.)

- Naruto/Death Note - Nekomataya [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I will state upfront that this site is not going to be for everyone, especially those who don't care for hentai. There are a lot of caveats I'd put on this site--the hentai is often very graphic, the characters often look younger than they are (Sakura looks almost ten and under sometimes), and it's all about the naked chicks. The reason I rec the site anyway? Because I don't mind hentai and because the artist is really, really good at what he does. I was won over by the daily illustration art, mostly, because the lines and shading of each illustration is really, really good, even when they're casually drawn, you can just see how much skill the artist has. I rec this site for stuff like the Tsunade/Anko illustration that's really, really beautifully colored and they look like adults. I rec this site because there's a lot of art on the site, because the skill with which the artist draws the hentai is actually pretty damn good, and because I occasionally have fun with this kind of site. But pay attention to the warnings. (Graphic content, some possible lollicon.)

- Naruto - [ English Fanart Site ] - You know, I know the Nine-Tails is male (or at least the voice would indicate it is), but this artist's running theme of making the Nine-Tails female... actually really kind of works with the way it's done here. The "BitchKyuubi Collaboration" one? Where female!Nine-Tails is throwing a wicked smile over her shoulder as her arm is around Naruto, her red dress and nine orange tails swishing behind her? SO COOL. Because the art is... ehhh, it's not exactly rough, but it's got these sharp, jagged, pointed edges to the feel of it (something like that) and it ends up just being really cool and I might not have gotten onboard with such a concept, but I find it REALLY intriguing here. Then you add in that the artist does some really cool Jiraiya art and OMG I LOVE HER JIRAIYA/TSUNADE, which are also in that same sort of sharp, jagged, harsh-edged style that just WORKS for this artist. I'm repeating myself a lot, so I'll just end with AHAHAHAHA, OMG, YAY FOR JIRAIYA/TSUNADE~! <3<3<3 Totally worth checking this artist out. (Some Jiraiya/Tsunade, maybe a little bit of other pairings, but no themes.)

- Naruto/Slayers/Inuyasha - [ German/English Fanart Site ] - [ artist's deviantART account ] - This is one of those sites that I just sorta had fun with; the art was cute and adorable (especially the Slayers stuff) or it had this really nice, light, airy sketchy feel to it that really worked (like with the Inuyasha stuff--I'm especially enamored with her Sesshoumaru/Inuyasha illustrations. Little!Inuyasha hanging onto Sesshoumaru's sleeve as they approached a post-battle site? Totally sent me into fits of Teh Kyuute. But the one one of Inuyasha leaning back against Sesshoumaru also just... dammit, why do I like them so much? Whatever it is, this artist tapped into that affection a little with her art.) With the Slayers stuff, I especially liked her group stuff--there's one of the main cast flying in the sky that's just GREAT and there's a REALLY COOL one of Zelas-Metallium and Xellos and the artist seems a little fond of Xellos/Zelgadiss, so I'll forgive the Xellos/Filia bias. *hisses and spits* (*RUNS* Kidding, kidding, nobody hit me! >___>) And her newest Naruto stuff is really good--the one with baby!Sasuke pulling on Itachi's hair? Genius. The chibi Kimimaro is also lovely and I adore the Lina/Zel illustration on the dA account (make sure to browse both, since I think some art is on one site and a lot is on another) and the "Fireflies" Naruto one is beautifully colored. Just... fun, all in all. <3 (Uchiha-friendly, slightly Sasuke/Sakura, some Xellos/Filia, some Xellos/Zelgadiss, I don't know how to classify the Inuyasha stuff.)

- Naruto - [ English Fanart Site ] - Oh, Lee fanart, how precious and rare you are, especially LeeSaku fanart that's just absolutely adorable! And I think one of my favorite things about this artist is that her style really captures the feel of Lee's character--that sort of enthusiastic, bright, earnest, adorable sense that Lee has that won my heart with him. I probably would have rec'd this artist just because she draws really adorable SakuLee illustrations, but then she won me over with the multitude of Naruto chibi illustrations--I think she drew every major character as a cute little animal and I think I wanted to squee over nearly every one of them. She also does Gaara/Lee illustrations that I actually find really kind of adorable because her art is very solid and, hell, I even thought the Naruto/Teen Titans illustration was damned cute. XD And I mentioned the adorable, adorable chibis, right? Because I loved those. (Lee/Sakura, Gaara/Lee, a lot of Other/Lee, some other random pairings mixed in, and some gen as well.)

- Naruto - [ English Fanart Site ] - What is it about Itachi-friendly artists that attracts some of the most amazing talent? Well, the artist isn't just drawing Itachi, but, damn, this is good art. She does these amazing things with lines, colors, and details that's just... there's this one Kimimaro fanart that is stunning. And, oh, I think her Ayame fanart might be the most beautiful Ayame fanart I've ever seen. It's hard to explain why I'm so impressed, because it's more than just that her lines are really fine and detailed, they're... beautiful, without going into shoujo territory, I think. The colors look almost like they were brushed on somehow, even when she's doing chibi art! Everything looks so... drawn down to the last detail and their hair sends me into orbit and she does these cute little comics that make me smile and, oh, god, there's this utterly gorgeous one of Neji, too, and just... this artist is really good, I thought. I doubt I could sing her praises much more highly. ^_~ ....and, man, the temptation to shove pretty much half the gallery into links in this rec was immense. _o_ (Some Itachi/Sasuke, a lot of gen, too.)

- Naruto - 2co [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site really does a fantastic Sasuke and there's a ton of art here. Some of the earlier stuff might not be as well-done, but the more recent stuff is terrific, right down to the surprising amount of detail on the clothes in what look like they could almost be oekaki art. (#170 in the image section is probably my favorite, the pattern on the cloth looks fantastic.) It really is the strength of the clothes and all the positions that the artist puts Sasuke in that are the highlight of this site, one of those sites that's great because you can spend an hour there looking at all the art she's drawn, especially if you like Sasuke at all. (Maybe a little Sasuke/Naruto and Sasuke/Sakura? Though, I don't know that I'd call it romance, it looks more gen-ish to me.)

- Naruto - [ English Fanart Site ] - Holy shit, I cannot believe how effing CUTE THIS ART IS. The artist is obviously a huge Gaara fan and it shows in just how... god, how huggable this art is, how shiny and cute the art is and when he and Lee are fighting back to back? OH MY GOD SO FREAKING CUTE LET ME HUG THE BABIES I'LL GIVE THEM BACK WHEN I'M DONE I PROMISE! *ahem* Art like this doesn't always win me over, the kind that draws them super-cute-ified, but the artist is actually quite talented at it, the kind that makes the little chibi-esque style work, especially when backed up by the very solid underlying lineart and the terrific coloring. It's the kind of art that I wind up squeeing over pretty much every illustration, even if I had no intentions of such at the beginning. XD (Lots of cute Gaara/Lee, maybe references to a few other Gaara shounen-ai pairings.)

- Bleach/Naruto - candy*store [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I don't often go out of my way for Team 10 art, largely because there's not enough of it for me to seek out, but I saw a cute banner on a site elsewhere, decided to check it out, and was pleasantly surprised. Though, the first illustration I saw on this site was actually a Kiba one that was fantastic and while not everything was as impressive, there was a ton of art on the site that's just... I mean, if you're a Shikamaru fan, I think this is one of the must-see sites. The artist makes really good use of her style, with those gold-green tones she uses, the lines are good, and occasionally the characters look just awesome. I mean, there's this one of Shikamaru standing next to a Temari in a black dress where she looks utterly gorgeous. Or there's a Gaara one in front of candles that has such a great look to his eyes or Shikamaru's father with baby!Shikamaru which is utterly adorable or Shikamaru and Temari holding hands just outside of the frame of the illustration at sunset or the ADORABLE kid!Neji being held by his dad or that other incredibly gorgeous Kiba or--well, yes, you get the idea. Ooh, ooh, and one must TOTALLY go for the Sandsibs illustration that's all kinds of cool! XD But I also mustn't forget about the Bleach, which... okay, to be honest, there are only about five illustrations that I really liked, but how could you NOT go for that fantastic one of Renji holding up a cat? Or the really, genuinely lovely Hitsugaya illustrations? I had to include it! XD (Maybe a little Shikamaru/Temari, but there's a lot of gen and no Bleach pairings.)

- Naruto - Happy Collection [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, for all that the current illustration (when I wrote this rec) was of Naruto and Sakura fighting back to back, there was actually very little of the main characters on this site. Not that I found myself particularily minding when there was some absolutely adorable Team 10 art, especially a nice focus on Shikamaru and Ino. Mostly seperately, but I do get a sense of a liiiiiittle bit of ShikaIno off the site, which I certainly hope I'm not mistaken about. What was interesting is that I went through the artist's b&w sketches first so I got to see that she really does have some great linework going on under the cute coloring jobs she does. And, OMG, the Team 10 group illustrations are the best part of this site, totally worth going for, especially the one of them as kids where Ino's got her arms around both of them. It's just so... much fun! (Maybe a little ShikaIno, but probably not.)
