- Okami - HAKUNETU40w [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site had an illustration of a Devil Gate. A Devil Gate. I sort of had to love it just for that! (I loved the Devil Gates, they were an awesome source of Praise. *_*) The rest of the site is interesting, it's a style I don't see that often, it's a bit trippy, but I wound up liking the artist's take on things. The bright, sharp colors help and they look a bit like digital paintings, so I was happy to go through the entire gallery. A little bit of my love for was out of novelty, but I'd definitely like to see more from the artist, so. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)

- Okami - Kunatiri [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I think the time I about fell in love with this site was when I stumbled across kidlet!Waka looking so darned adorable. And then there was kidlet!Waka playing with Amaterasu and it was just so cute that I could hardly stand it. <3 The artist's style is very cute and brightly colored, there's a real sense of fun and love here, as well as the artist totally winning points with me for a lot of really nice fanart of Sakuya, Kushi, and the other Okami female characters. And omg the one of Princess Fuse and her husband is one of the best I've seen for those characters, the Oki/Kai art is so cute and is really sort of converting me further into the pairing, and just... there's a lot of art on this site and it's all really fun stuff. ♥ (Maybe some Oki/Kai, but it's a largely gen site, I think.)

- Okami - SpLash [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another one of those sites where I'm not sure precisely where I caved on it, but it was definitely somewhere around paging through some of the really cool Oina tribe fanart. The artist's Oki stuff is especially really good, I am absolutely in love with the way the artist draws his hair, the Oki/Kai stuff really cute, the colors are really sharp, and then there is a kidlet!Oki illustration that just floors me with how cute it is. This rec is a lot shorter than I wish it were, because the site totally has some really nice oekaki-style images, but I'm sort of failing at being coherent. Just. Good site. Go visit now. ♥ (Maybe some Oki/Kai, but there's a lot of gen, too.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Omg, the colors on this site! *_* They're just so gorgeous and just enough like the original game that it totally captures the spirit of it, but it's also... some of these images totally look like watercolor paintings, except done a million times better than I could ever get them to turn out. Other times they look more like colored pencils, except, again, way more awesome than that. There's also this one of human!Amaterasu that's just completely great, the little swirls of her hair that look just like the brush, the rosary necklace she's wearing, the pretty colors... just... asd;flkjasdlfj I adored this site even just a handful of images into it, something about it just hit me exactly right. Add in the ones of Waka and Sakuya being totally awesome, too, and hell there's even a really great image of Amaterasu riding Orca and I've never seen that on any other site. Fabulous site. *__* (Maybe a little Oki/Amaterasu, a little Waka/Amaterasu, but it could be almost gen, too.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It didn't take long at all for me to fall in love with this artist's take on the brush gods, because they look awesome in these human forms. I love the artist's style in and of itself, but put together with one of my favorite things from the game (....well, I have a lot of "favorite things" from the game, mind), it's just that much more awesome. The artist's take on Moegami (I think? I have trouble keeping the brush gods apart.) is especially... well, frankly, kind of hot. But they're all just... omg, so awesome looking, totally the kind of thing I love. And, holy crap, her Oki is also totally awesome. *__* And the small handful of Waka/Amaterasu images just completely tug at my heart. Just. Great site here, I had a ton of fun. (....no real warnings/pairings.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - At this rate, fandom is definitely going to make me like the idea of Oki/Kai, when the art is so pretty and cute like this. You can see how good the artist is with the b&w sketches, the lineart is really solid and professional level and Oki especially looks great. But then they'll also do some fantastic cel-style coloring so they look like they could have been cels or almost like real CG art. I can't even bring myself to be grumpy that the site focuses so much on the Oina tribe (that I really like!) and the brush gods and not on other characters I'd like, because it's just that good and so completely fun. The artist's comic pages are utterly gorgeous as well, the one of Oki and Kai sharing a kiss for water is just stunningly pretty. <3 (Some Oki/Kai, some gen/other.)

- Okami - 5ze [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Ever since about the first seven hours of the game, I have been quitely pining for more Waka-related stuff and the game kept teasing me with further bits and pieces of him; by the time I was getting towards the end, I was kind of in full-blown fascination mode. So, naturally, when I started poking at fanart sites, I was hoping for something more with him and this site delivered wonderfully. The artist has this almost simple style, almost oekaki-esque that somehow manages to convey so much emotion in the characters she draws. And I love, love, love her take on the human versions of characters, she's really good at putting these neat little details onto them. And! Um. I may have liked the Waka/Ammy stuff a lot, too. I mean, I'm more used to female!Amaterasu, but I'm not exactly going to complain when art like this is so pretty. (Maybe a little Waka/Amaterasu slash, but mostly a gen site I think.)

- Okami - TYPHOONOBSERVATORY [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay, I was pretty sure I was going to love this site, but I was officially sold at the fanart of a sleeping Amaterasu and Waka playing his flute on one of those flowers. It was somehow just so perfect for the game and what I was looking for from the fandom. There's a lot of cute art all over the site, though, a lot of really neat fanart of the various doggies and even an image of wolf!Waka, which is quite possibly one of the greatest things Okami fandom could do. ♥ And if you don't melt into goo at the sight of a sprite and a wolf god hugging, there is something clearly wrong with you. Add in some really beautiful Waka/Amaterasu fanart and you have one of my new favorite sites. *_* The art here is fabulous for just about all the characters and the human!Amaterasu fanart is adorable and the sketches are soooo cute and--! (Some Waka/Amaterasu, but it could be a largely gen site, too.)

- Okami - Loverial Phantom [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Holy crap, it took one page of this artist's work to have me violently heartmarking her style. It's just so darn cute and bright and happy and colorful without being gaudy and I love how everyone looks here. The use of almost pastel colors really works here, plus there's just so much of the pretty comics and they're just... I'm keyboard mashing here because I don't know how to explain why Waka scratching Amaterasu's stomach or telling Oki to back off now, bitch, or even Issun and Ammy travelling around is so cute, but the artist's sharp, clean lines just make everything so lovely. Everything shines here, looking so good and professional level. *__* Her human!Amaterasu is totally adorable as well and holy crap that's a lot of detail on the cute little dress for her! And, seriously, there's something wrong with you if you don't melt at least a little over the desperate Waka/Amaterasu hug. *__* (A lot of Waka/Amaterasu, some Oki/Kai, maybe a little Issun/Amaterasu, a little other, a little gen maybe.)

- Okami - TETE A TETE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another site that I warmed up to pretty quickly and then fell a little when I started stumbling over the pretty Waka fanart. There's some really great stuff for him here and even a really awesome Oki fanart that I totally loved. The art is frequently almost simple, but the light, airy feeling of it and the occasional image where the artist's style becomes really sharp and clear... it's one of those sites that definitely helped give me my fix for the day, where there were a handful of illustrations that I was just completely starry-eyed over. A nice, fun site to browse. And the human forms of the 13 brush gods were really sort of cool! (It's mostly gen, I think. Possibly a little pairing implications.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The art on this site is almost sort of simple, very clean and direct, but... something about the combination of the way the artist does it plus the lighter colors plus the absolutely adorable nature of a lot of them, I was won over pretty quickly. I mean, Waka with little spritelet Sakuya? Eeeeeeeee so cute! Not to mention the comics are so completely and utterly wibble-worthy (and spoilery, btw!) even though some of the art isn't in tune with my take on the characters. Which is mostly that I prefer female Amaterasu and kind of OTP her with Waka. Not that this wasn't them, just... Amaterasu/Waka is different from Waka/Amaterasu. But, whatever. The art is totally pretty and that's what counts. :D (Amaterasu/Waka, some other yaoi pairings.)

- Okami - G A O [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The thing I really like about this site is the almost-rough quality to the art, yet not sloppy about it, it's more... a style choice and the way the artist uses the colors with it looks so pretty. There's one of Himiko that's just totally lovely and I love the artist's take on Issun and Oki and--!! Well, pretty much everything on the site. ♥ There's also a decent amount of art to the site and it totally helped give me my fix and I want more from the artist and just... it was quietly satisfying. Very, very nice site. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was sort of wavering on this site, not because I didn't like it (I do!), but because I wasn't sure there was enough art to really recommend it... and then I got to the page with the little images of the 13 brush gods and immediately fell in love that much harder. And then there was a lovely page full of Waka fanart. I love that just about every character gets some really cute art, I love the way the art is displayed with several on each page, which makes everything somehow even cuter when you're looking at all of it together. I love the bright, warm colors used and the site was just... nice. :D (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Okami/Howl's Moving Castle - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This artist has an almost rough sort of quality to her work, but actually makes it look really cool, sort of a bit like the sketches from the artbook, just a little. The take on the wolves, especially Amaterasu, looks really great... well, all the animals look great, really. They look like animals much of the time and I so totally love the way her Shiranui looks. The image from the end of the fight with Lechku and Nechku is just... *__* Then the artist goes and makes me really love her for the Waka fanart and I'm kind of completely gone. As for the HMC fanart, they're these lovely pieces almost like paintings, some of them terribly intense. They're movie-based and the one of Howl in the bird form is just... asdf;lkjadsflj, ouch, way to strike at my fangirl heart again. Very wonderful site. ♥ (Maybe a little Waka/Amaterasu but it could be gen, too. Howl/Sophie.)

- Prince of Tennis/Okami - raibura [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I came here for the Okami fanart, actually. And thought, oh, what the hell, I'll at least peak at the Tenipuri fanart. And my Atobe fondness reared right up and bit me all over again, despite that the Atobe/Oshitari pairing isn't my thing. But. I mean. In this author's hands? It's gorgeous, her Atobe is just stunning. Just looking at the art for him reminds me of why I really do love the character so damn much. Sadly, there's not much Okami fanart here, but I hope the artist will do more over time, and what is here is lovely and incredibly detailed and/or adorably cute. (Oshitari/Atobe, no pairings/warnings for the Okami pages.)

- Okami/Odin Sphere - Sunny Spot [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I came here to look for Odin Sphere fanart and wound up distracted by the Okami fanart as well. It's just so... cute and chibi and pretty! The colors are these light pastels and the images are all these little scribbles of various characters and I wound up totally charmed by the site. The artist is actually quite talented, when she works on a more fully detailed piece, they come out really pretty, but I actually enjoy her little diary art pieces as well because they're just so chibi and CUTE and have really pretty colors. ....I'm explaining this badly, I think. But I really do adore the site! There's not a lot of Odin Sphere art on the page, especially not compared to the Okami section, but what's here is really cute and full of potential, I'd love to see more from the artist. (Maybe a smidge of Waka/Amaterasu or Oki/Kai if you want to see them that way, a little Ingway/Mercedes, but it's mostly a gen site.)

- Harukanaru Toki no Nakade/Okami - dominopepper [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is a really lovely site, the colors are really lush and pretty to look at, making the art that much more interesting to look at. The artist draws an especially cute Nozomi and a very, very nice Tomomori, their hair and clothes look lovely. There's a lot of silliness on the site, a lot of gag stuff and goofy expressions/poses, which I tended to skim over personally (simply it's not to my taste is all) but everything is very nicely drawn, it's a nice site to run through when I'm looking for a Harutoki fix. And I was originally going to skip over the Okami part of the site (since it didn't seem like there was a ton of art at first glance), but I was browsing through the galleries anyway and... first there was a really nice Waka/Amaterasu image and then there was a nice human!Amaterasu design and I am totally a sucker for that. There's also some really cute, brightly colored art from the Oina tribe and is a really enjoyable site. (Some Tomomori/Nozomi, some everyone/Nozomi het, no Okami pairings/warnings.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I've been saying this a lot lately, maybe my tastes are changing or maybe it's one of those weird coincidences or whatever, but I was about to pass by this site when I thought, well, I'll still give the Okami section a look. And maybe it's just because the Okami visual style is so different from a lot of other games or maybe I'm just looser with it because of the mythology themes, but whatever the reason, this artist's style really worked for me here. The lines aren't quite jagged, but there's a certain almost rough quality to them, something like an ink painting (sort of) that just impressed me somehow. The oekaki illustrations don't do it for me as much, but that cool one of Himiko? Or Amaterasu putting her paw on Waka's face? Or the battle against Oki? Amaterasu with Issun bouncing on her nose? All of that is totally interesting and fun. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss/Okami - Rock Rock Rock [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site is definitely not going to be for everyone and I'm not even sure I can articulate why I like it so much, but... it's mostly scribbly art and very stylized, which is cute as it is. But what caught me about this site is that... the more I clicked through the gallery, the more and more I found myself smiling in amusement or thinking a particular illustration was cool. There's Nephry fanart! There's an image of the Keterburg kids burying Saphir in a snowman shaped just like him! There's some really cool Natalia art! Anise is super-cute! There's some really kinda cool Legretta fanart! Asch often looks hot! There's a handful of Asch/Natalia images! The site as a whole managed to win me over with enough illustrations that were just adorable enough to add up to a fun total. As for the Okami art, it's more of the same--I'm not sure how to describe why it's so cute, other than to flail over Waka being a dork or Sakuya being pretty or how some of the Princess Fuse fanart is actually kinda pretty or how Kai is super-cute. It's just a site that's adorable and makes me happy. XD (A little bit of a lot of different things. Probably the most prominent were Luke/Tear, Asch/Natalia, Peony/Nephry, Sync/Arietta. Nothing I'm going to count for Okami.)

- Final Fantasy XII/Okami - flies away [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is one of those sites where there's only a small handful of art for each series at the time of the rec (maybe three for Okami? maybe four for FFXII?) but the art is so well done that I really can't help myself. I knew I was going to be weak from the moment I saw the art of Lechku and Nechku (or whatever their original Japanese names were) and Ninetails in battle against Amaterasu, because that illustration was completely epic. Then there was a really beautiful illustration of Ultima from FFXII, a couple more really fantastically done poster-style images (and the one of Balthier/Fran is fantastic) and it was just. So impressive. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Okami/Odin Sphere - uso800 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's not really a lot of art here, I only stumbled over the site because I followed the link from an oekaki board, but. The page of Okami art at least has a handful of images and they're just. The colors are so vivid and beautiful, so much detail has gone into some of them, the style and sense and atmosphere that the artist uses for them fits the game so perfectly. It's the kind of fanart that makes me want to fire up the game for the fourth time and play it again. *__* As for the Odin Sphere part of the site, it's not as strong as the Okami art, but I was enamored with the artist's style at that point, so I liked the sketch-esque quality to it and I liked the warm colors. I'd definitely like to see more art from this artist, whatever series she chooses to work on! <3 (No real warnings/pairings for Okami, maybe a little canon for Odin Sphere.)

- Okami - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's not a lot of art here, but I followed the link from an oekaki site and I'm really glad I did because there's so much detail in the handful of images that are here. The one of Ushiwaka and Amaterasu in the grass is really kind of wonderfully done and the Sakuyua illustrations are so wonderful for all the attention that's given her, the detail put into them to make her look more like a traditional person. Not that I don't love the Okami art to tiny little pieces, but it's also cool to see this artist's take on the human characters in a more detailed way. Plus, how often do you see Sakuya fanart? XD And there are some gorgeous ones of Waka playing the flute with Amaterasu in his lap or during the sakura-watching at Kamiki or-- Well. A lot of really neat art. ♥ (No real warnings/pairings, but if you like Waka/Amaterasu, I guess you could see it that way.)
