- One Piece - sea dog [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I'm really starting to fall for One Piece J-fanart sites because of sites like this one--the artist draws all the characters so incredibly well (the one of Nami and Vivi as kids together was so adorable, the one of Zoro and Sanji as kids together was so adorable, the one of Zoro surrounded by kids was--well, yes, you get where I'm going ^_~), using a soft touch with the colors that really reminds me of the original art itself in a lot of ways. It doesn't hurt that there's a nice amount of details and a fairly nice selection of mixing of characters (ie, it's not just the same two characters over and over and over--though, Zoro/Sanji is a definite theme) and the artist manages to capture the feel of One Piece. Much love. ♥ (Some Zoro/Sanji, a lot of gen.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I admit, I was hesitant to rec this site at first, because I'm usually not fond enough of oekaki art on its own to rec a site just for that (Unless it's Prince of Tennis/Tezuka x Atobe, because I have a strong love of ZukaAto oekaki. XD), but this site totally won me over because of all the fantastic detail the artist puts into her work. (Btw, if you're wondering where the OP art is stashed--click on the little trash can to take you to the Weekly Jump gallery.) But it was also about the sense of fun the images carried with them; I can't tell you how many of them jumped out at me and made me go, "Hey, that's cool!" I loved Shanks with Luffy and Ace as kids, I loved Nami ruling the Going Merry with an iron fist and shaded eyes, I loved Luffy and Usopp and Chopper passed out in various positions around the room, I loved the zany group images, and I adored how ridiculously cute Chopper was. This site might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it thoroughly for so capturing the spirt of OP. (No warnings/pairings.)
- One Piece - D.D. Works [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - .....holy mother of god, this artist is flat-out incredible. I first noticed the birthday illustration of Sanji on the top page and was immediately drooling on myself at the incredible lines and colors that made it look damn near like official art... and the rest of the site did not disappoint. The artist clearly loves Sanji and it really comes through in her art and the poses/clothes she puts him in; everything about the site screams fun (well, fun and sexyomgsohoti'mgoingtogodroolonmyselfnow) and really, really fucking cool. While Sanji is the main focus, the artist often draws other characters--she seems to have a fondness for putting him with Zoro especially, which didn't hurt my feelings at all. But there are also two illustrations of Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy in black suits against red/black backgrounds that are just... amazing with how cool it looks. I cannot stress enough the skill of this artist, this is one of those artist that is really at the top of the fanart game, one of those artists that stand out in a fandom even as big as the J-fandom for OP, that's how incredibly good her art is. Truly professional quality this fanartist gives us. ♥ Also--be sure to poke all over the site, there's art tucked away just about everywhere. (No warnings/pairings.)
- One Piece - Greap Escape [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Of course, what immediately caught my attention about this site was the Luffy/Nami content, since that's what I was seeking, but I actually found a lot more to the site than that. The art is very cute, often using pastel-ish colors, but doing so well and I found myself fond of the style. What I really loved was that everyone was just... happy and grinning all the time, that sense of high adventure and a great time that I get from the One Piece series itself. There were a couple of illustrations that just looked great--I enjoyed the group ones almost as much as I did the Luffy/Nami. So, yeah, just an all-around positive site that I enjoyed a lot. ^_^v (Some Luffy/Nami, a lot of gen.)
- One Piece - Bajo el sol [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I don't remember how I got on the idea of looking for Kuro fanart this morning, but I ran across a link somehow and started following other links and just got into a One Piece mood this morning, which makes me glad I did, because holy crap some of the art on this page is gorgeous. It's not as Kuro-centric as I was originally hoping for, but that quickly came to no matter at all, because the art so very well captures the spirit of the series and is really, really well-done. There's this one image of Zoro and Kuro fighting that just totally and utterly made me go *____* because it was SO COOL (and beautiful). There were also some fantastic Smoker illustrations (I have an odd sort of crush on Smoker, I think), there were some really neat poster-style illustrations for the whole crew, and the Zoro illustrations were fantastic. Great details, great lines, great colors, I was just a happy, happy fangirl here. ♥ (No warnings/pairings... well, maybe a little bit of Kuro/Jango.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site is one of those OP sites that shows just how amazingly popular the series is in the J-fandoms, because it attracts artists like this one--the artist's CG work is amazing, just really professional looking. Right down to her colors, shading, and lines, she draws art that's almost on the same level as the anime art itself, which isn't an easy thing to do. Her lines are smooth and crisp and clear without being bulky, her coloring is bright and solid, but without being gaudy or tacky, her poses for Sanji (as he's the focus of this site) are terrific, really keeping in the feel of the character. She also puts a lot of detail into her art, making them just fun to look at and an all-around really solid site. I'm very impressed. ^_^v (No warnings/pairings.)
- One Piece - Love & Piece [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Every once in awhile, I come across a site that just makes me *SQUEE* with wild abandon because it captures the feeling of the One Piece style/art so incredibly well AND gives me exactly what I want, that I just fangirl like mad crazy. This is one of those sites because the artist is incredibly talented but also because she draws some of my favorite pairings from the series AND does fantastic gen stuff. (There's the regular gallery, but also check out her Weekly Jump section, because she's got some fantastic sketches based off the chapters there. ♥) She's got that grin that Oda-sensei does down phenominally well, really helping along that sense of FUN that One Piece has. Her colors are also incredible, her lines fantastic, her poses perfect, her One Piece-tone amazing, and all of that. But, really, the thing that just made me twirl around the room in utter glee? That I believed these pairing illustrations. Sometimes, with some art sites, I have to squint a little to match the characters up with the ones in my head (This isn't an insult--this is something that happens with even the most STUNNING sites, many of which are among my absolute favorites.), but with this site... I dunno, I just SAW the characters (and pairings) that I adore so much. Because THIS is my Zoro/Nami, toally. And, really, I'm all about the squee-factor. If it makes ME fangirl, then I'm terrifically happy to have seen the site. ♥ (Some Zoro/Nami, some Sanji/Nami and some Luffy/Nami, and some gen.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I just... one of the things that I love so much about One Piece fanartists is that they so often capture the sense of fun and adventure and color and excitement of the series itself, yet never being redundant. And this site is no exception to that--I love the artwork here; the artist draws a fantastic Zoro and a fantastic Nami and fantastic Zoro/Nami and fantastic group illustrations and I could go on all day. Her sense for color is really strong, using the CG style in the way that I really like, her lines are terrific, very much in line with the art of the series, but not a copycat. It's just... why do I like this site so much? Because this is the Zoro/Nami dynamic that I like so much--sometimes she's teasing him, sometimes he's teasing her, sometimes they're annoyed as hell at each other, sometimes they're laughing together, it all just felt right to me. The other reason I like this site is that same thing I keep harping on--it FEELS like One Piece to me, you know? Plus? She had animated gifs! Oh, my god, the one of Luffy plopping his hat on Nami's head and kissing her cheeks was just about the most adorable thing ever! Though, Zoro looking over Nami who's fallen asleep at her desk was terribly adorable as well. And the multi-paged comic(s) was wonderful. I just... I love this site. ♥ (Zoro/Nami, with some gen.)
- One Piece - Color Life [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Admittedly, I waffled on this site, trying to figure out if I wanted to rec it or not, because not all the art is to my taste, but... the more and more I would go through the gallery, the more I could find an image here and there that I really liked. The one that finally sold me, though? Zoro giving Nami a hug in Alabasta after the fighting, it was just... it was fantastically done, from the bloody smears and worn clothing to the details on said clothing to the beautiful colors of it to the body language that just said it all. I could go on about that image for hours, I suspect. Plus, the one of Ace hitting on Nami while Zoro casually (and while facing away) points a sword at Ace's throat amuses me and the Valentine's Day ones were great and there's this one of Zoro and Nami in black against the background of the pyramids that is SO COOL/PRETTY and on and on and on. The point is that while not all of the art is my thing, there were enough here that made me squee and fangirl that I wanted to shove them at other people. ♥ (Zoro/Nami, with some gen.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, some of the earlier illustrations on this site aren't ones I completely fangirl over, but as the artist goes along, she gets better and better. By the time I was getting to the last ten or so, the artist was just amazing with her details and lines and colors and I really can't expression my squee'ing with mere words. There's this one of Luffy, Sanji, and Chopper bringing back a bunch of groceries that I could just STARE at for half an hour and still not see all the details of it, I don't think. Not to mention the colors and lines are so incredibly IN TUNE with the One Piece style that I was just in love. And then there's the series of the OP characters in OP-style fighting clothes (similar to what they wore in Alabasta) where they all just look FANTASTIC! And then there's kiddie!Luffy or kiddie!Sanji that just... man, I can't fangirl hard enough, because it really FEELS like One Piece art AND it's just so pretty! (No real pairings/warnings.)
- One Piece - Cartoon Heroes [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The art on this site took me a little while to get used to, it's very CG-ish in the sort of way... mm, it's hard to describe but I know what I mean. XD;; Anyway, the coloring is a little odd sometimes, but I really warmed up to it because, the further you get into the gallery, the more it starts to really WORK for the artist and she has some KICK ASS poses/concepts for her art. There's this one of Shanks and Luffy after Shanks has just gotten his arm bitten off that's just... you can FEEL the emotion from it, but it's also beautifully drawn, the colors lovely and the effects of the waves adding to it. Ahm, I'm doing a bad job of describing why I liked this site so much--it's not exactly the same as the typical sort of OP art, but it works for this artist--she does a fantastic Shanks, but she also does a fantastic everyone. What I really like, though, is she somehow captures the sense of... pirate to Shanks (and Luffy), the very cool, dangerous, deadly, but FUN still. Oh, and the Vivi/Kohza illustrations? OMG HOLY CRAP SO PRETTY. *___* Totally worth going to the site for all on their own. (Not really any pairings/warnings.)
- One Piece - KKD [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, the characters' hips can be a little off with this artist, but the rest of the illustrations--right down to the clothes and the poses--are so fantastically done, so keeping with the FEEL of One Piece that I just fell in love. Mostly the artist does Robin--who looks FANATASTIC, she's got some of the most fantastically drawn costumes the artist puts her in--but occasionally does the main cast and some of the other characters, too. There was a really great Smoker illustration, there was a fantastic illustration of Kuragara and Norland that just made me wibble all over the place, and all in all... it was one of those sites that drew the characters in such a way that it reminded me of the One Piece series (the artist has really good coloring, too, very well shaded and detailed)... and I keep harping on that because... I mean, it's not a perfect replication, it's a bit more CG-ish in style, but... it felt like each piece of the background detail was thought out, I guess? Plus, dude, Robin fanart that's REALLY PRETTY. How could I not love? XD (Some Robin/Crocodile, some gen.)
- One Piece/Naruto/Bleach/Death Note - 032 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay, see, I have this thing about sprites, right? If I could, I would totally be adopting, like, eight bajillion of them, but I never know which ones are all right to use and which ones are off-limits. And I see a lot of sprites and they're all really cute, but this site... oh, man, I think I nearly hurt something squee'ing over the cute. All those little One Piece or Naruto or Bleach or Death Note characters... well, it definitely helps that the site is KakaIru friendly and has some of the flat-out best sprites ever, like the ones of Kakashi with his nin dogs or Yondaime trying to summon a powerful frog (I nearly spit my soda back onto the screen at that one) or Kakashi kissing Iruka with little hearts floating around or Asuma and Shikamaru playing Go or just whatever. I could stare at these sprites all day long. (Even if I do bemoan the lack of an Orihime sprite.) I love this site more than bold and italics tags can convey. (Maybe a little Zoro/Sanji or KakaIru, but it's also gen-friendly, if you avoid the one page of KakaIru sprites. >_>)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, this isn't my usual type of One Piece fanart site, but it has a sort of feel to the art that... really captures the whole One Piece feel. Just... in the sense of batshit pirate-y fun in places, I think. Plus, hell, who couldn't love a site that has Luffy and Ace as kids doodling on a passed out Shanks' face? Or Luffy trying to make himself taller by standing on his toes as Ace measures him against a pole while Shanks laughs hysterically behind them, because Luffy's trying JUST SO HARD. Or any number of other scenes from Luffy and Ace's childhood--the site is very much focused on Luffy and Ace and probably a little something more (though, you never really SEE anything, it's just the sense of intimacy that I occasionally get off the art), which isn't something I always seek out, but when it's done right, I really like it. There's some absolutely adorable brother-type antics that really just feel like... in a lot of ways, like they could have come right out of the manga version of their childhood itself, I guess. I really liked it. ♥ (I dunno, I'm not really ready to label this with any pairings.)
- Full Metal Alchemist/One Piece - [ English Fanart Site ] - Okay, see, I'm a sucker for any artist that's friendly towards Luffy/Nami art. Especially when they have some nice lines and really nice coloring that looks very professional and cel-like coloring. Then you toss in little Vivi with little Carue and then you toss in a really nice Roy style with little chibi-Eds all over the place and then you toss in a bunch of One Piece character illustrations (including an utterly ADORABLE chibi-Sanji in his cute little cooking outfit) and then you toss in a Luffy/Nami fan-comic and then you toss in kitty!Royxkitty!Ed and then you toss in Ed, Al, and Winry as kids and it's all wrapped up in this really solid art with really great colors and I just had FUN with this artist. Oh! And she also does these really cool FMA bookmark illustrations that I loved and lots and lots of little gag art that always makes me grin or giggle or... well, yes, lots of stuff to enjoy here. <3 (Some Luffy/Nami, some Roy/Ed, a lot of gen, too.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I hesitated a lot over this site initially, until I got to the treasure section and just absolutely cooed over every illustration, because they were SO EFFING CUTE. I mean, Zeff dragging kiddy!Sanji off to bed? IT DOES NOT GET CUTER THAN THAT. But it's also Shanks squirting Ben with a watergun while they're in the bathtub or Zeff and kiddy!Sanji fishing together or Ace and Luffy in the rain together and sleeping or a lot of other ones. So, I definitely recommend the site for that section and, hell, I liked the main gallery, too--that one of shirtless Sanji in bed drinking out of a tea cup? PRETTY. <3 (A little bit Zoro/Sanji if you squint, but mostly gen.)
- One Piece - O. N. I. [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I have such a great fondness for any site that does a lot of good oekaki with a wide variety of characters--like, when I can see Zoro and Sanji and Luffy and the rest frequently, but characters like Smoker or Captain Kuro or I can see an adorable fanart of Zoro and Chopper grinning like hell or one of Sanji drawing curly eyebrows and chin hair on Zoro while he sleeps or even Zoro and Nami snarking at each other? I love that kind of site. Plus, the artist does a good job with her illustrations, they're very obviously oekaki style, but I've kinda grown fond of that these days, and her colors are the light and pretty kind without being pastel. But. Well. Yes. There's a lot of Zoro-and-Sanji illustrations and a faint of slash hint to the website, so. Well. I would be won over, wouldn't I? Anyway. There's also a lot of regular (non-oekaki) art that has some pretty good lines, a ton of art, and I found myself liking more than I clicked right on past, which is really all I can ask for from a site. ^_~ (Not Zoro/Sanji, but I'm probably going to stick it in that catagory anyway.)
- Bleach/One Piece/D.Gray-man - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh! Oh! This site! I was going to have been so pissed if I couldn't find it again (when Word crashed and took all my recs with it) because it had a couple of the coolest One Piece illustrations I'd seen in awhile--there's this absolutely awesome one of Smoker in action that I love to tiny, tiny pieces. There's also a fantastic one of Ace that's one of the best I've ever seen for him. The artist also does an absolutely fabulous job with the Bleach characters, she really has this sort of rough-edged style that meshes so well with Kubotite's style, it feels like Bleach, especially when she draws Renji (she likes his hair down a lot or having him practically shirtless... I agree whole-heartedly ♥). And I have mad, mad love for her Ukitake or that one oekaki of Byakuya and there were a couple of Shunsui/Ukitake illustrations that totally made me happy. Plus, I had to include it in the D.Gray-man section 'cause, despite there not being a lot of art for the series, there was that one of Komui that was fantastic. <3 (Lots of Other/Renji shounen ai, maybe a little Shunsui/Ukitake.)
- One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was initially attracted here because of the banner that had an interesting-looking illustration of Iceberg and Frankie on it, which actually turned out to be pretty cool. But then I stayed for the really neat Skypiea minor characters-based fanart, because how often do you see really cool Norland fanart? And, dude. There's genuinely good Frankie fanart! Of all the Water 7 characters, really--there's this absolutely fantastic one of Paulie and there are about three or four really amazing Ace illustrations and... yeah, there's not a lot of the Straw Hat crew themselves, but sometimes it's nice to have a site about the background characters. Especially when the artist draws them really well and she uses these bright colors that somehow really work for the images and the poses are all so COOL. Oh, and make sure to check out the comics, where you can see that the artist isn't just using pretty colors, she can actually draw. <3 (A little shounen ai, mostly Norland/Karugara and Iceberg/Frankie.)
- One Piece - psychedelica [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This isn't normally quite my style, it's very obviously computer-generated, but I gave the site a chance and I'm really glad I did, because the artist manages to achieve a style that works for her and she did a ton of the various characters. It was really neat to see a page devoted to almost every single one of the Galley-La workers, to see them in so many different poses--Califa looked especially hot, but they were all really well-done. The colors were used well, these nice, warm colors that I'm always so fond of and a lot of detail and well-balanced, just... all-around nicely done. Plus! OMG! ROZEN MAIDEN FANART. COOL! (No real warnings/pairings, I wouldn't say.)
- Final Fantasy 7/One Piece - Honura [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - *vibrates with happiness* I had so much fun with this site, really. There were a lot of cute illustrations, but I have to admit that it wasn't until I got to the soft, b&w one of Sephiroth and Cloud in the snow where Cloud's got a lock of Sephiroth's hair in his hand as he trails behind, it's so wibble-inducing cute! And then, not long after that, the site hit me with this gorgeous illustration of Aerith and Tifa in formal dresses (with little chibi Cloud and Sephiroth in their hands!) that made me sparkle like crazy. The artist does a really good variety of stuff, sometimes you'll find Sephiroth/Zack/Cloud, sometimes you'll find the FF7 women (Aerith, Tifa, and Yuffie in leather? Nice. :9) or sometimes there'll be these amazingly cute kiddie!Cloud with Sephiroth illustrations that just warm my heart. And, god, posessive!Sephiroth holding Cloud close while a chocobo stomps on a prone Zack? Priceless. And there's even Kingdom Hearts art! ....plus, any time Sephiroth bodily picks up Cloud to rush off with him (ostensibly to get him out of danger), I squeed. So much fun to be found here. ♥ And I wasn't originally going to include this in the One Piece section, since it's really more of an FF7 site, but the group illustration that was just somehow so One Piece, I caved. There's only a handful of illustrations, but the site just nails what makes me love the One Piece art, the soft edges that can occasionally be found in the art that makes it so pretty in its own way. And, god, the one of them as kids interspersed with them as adults? Brilliant. Totally worth the site alone. (Hints of a lot of the popular pairings, Sephiroth/Cloud, maybe a little Vincent/Cloud or Zack/Cloud; no One Piece pairings.)
- Gundam Wing/One Piece - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I didn't intend to look at the OP fanart on this site, I meant to skip right on over to the GundamW stuff, but... there was so much OP fanart and I was just going to go through a few of them and then there were a couple of uber-cute Zoro/Nami images (especially in the hit galleries omgggg ♥) and that pairing is a weakness of mine... and then somewhere along the way, it became a quietly solid, enjoyable site. The artis really does do a very cute Nami and some cute group pictures and adorable Zoro and Chopper images that are worth going through the site for. It's definitely a site with a cumulative effect and positive feelings because of a semi-rare pairing that I like, but there are some really nice images to be found here. It's similar with the GundamW art, where there's a lot of images of all the pilots and they're cute, but I also really enjoyed the Trowa/Duo a lot. :D (Some Zoro/Nami, some Zoro/Sanji, but a lot gen for OP. Trowa/Duo and some gen for GW.)
- One Piece/Katekyou Hitman REBORN! - CHITTYCHITTY [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is one of those times that I wish I could like the Zoro/Luffy pairing more, because the artist here draws them so incredibly like canon, it's sort of amazing. The wonderful thing (both for me and for all One Piece fans) is that she doesn't just draw that pairing, she draws all the characters, you can find art of pretty much every main character and they all look fantastic. Plus, the illustrations are fun and happy, so much like the style of Oda's color illustrations, too. In comparison, there's not nearly as much Reborn! fanart (compared to the solid section of One Piece), but what's here is adorable Gokudera/Tsuna art. The lines are so clean and so much like their canon selves, I love it! A fantastic site. ♥ (Zoro/Luffy, and a lot of gen for OP. Gokudera/Tsuna for Reborn!.)
