- Saiyuki - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - The art on this site got off to a slow start, I felt, but after clicking through for awhile, the subtle skill of the artist started to dawn on me.... The artist stays true to the Saiyuki designs, but changes them just enough to make them more palatable to me (personally) and make them lovely and niiiiiii~ce. The colors are more muted than what I'm used to from the original series, but it really works for these images, like here, <>here, and here. I just... no more words to describe how much I adore these illustrations. +_+ (A little SanzoxGoku and GojyoxHakkai.)

- Prince of Tennis/Saiyuki/Yami no Matsuei/Peace Maker - W-Grip [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - *bounce*bounce* This site has some wonderful TezukaFuji and OishiEiji, just... the kind that make me go *hanyaaaa~n*. And then there's the CHIBI-TEZUKAFUJI THAT I'M GOING TO SHRIEK OVER BECAUSE IT'S JUST SO GODDAMNED CUTE!!!!! ....sorry. ^_^;; These illustrations are full of nicely subtle colors, soft looks or touches, somehow managing to be wonderfully gay, yet not Supa!Gay, the kind I just adore, the occcasionaly goddamned cute chibis, and, wow do I adore those Hyotei group illustrations. Just... my love for these illustrations cannot be conveyed with mere words, just like my love for TezukaFuji cannot be conveyed with mere words. I cannot shove people at this site fast enough. ^_^

The Saiyuki illustrations are much the same, a lot of them, full of nice colors, good drawing skill, cool poses, and the group illustrations are fantastic--especially the later ones. Just... damn. *_*v

The Yami no Matsuei art I swear I've seen before, but I don't have the URL in my files anywhere, so... erm... this site may get rec'd twice. The Yamimatsu illustrations remind me of some style that I've seen before, but that I can't quite put my finger on, possibly some yaoi manga or something. Anyway, they're pretty good, the artist has a lot of talent for cool-looking poses/designs for them, making them look more like paitings or posters for the series rather than just fanart. Oh! Going through the gallery, I recognize that one of Tsuzuki with the dog as being from a doujinshi, so that's also contributing to why I recognize this style. Anyway, good, solid, fun art here, too. ^_^v

The Peace Maker (It always surprises me when I come across PM fanart, because I assume I'm the only one who's ever heard of it. ^_^;;; ) fanart is quite nice as well, which is wonderful for such a rare series. ....anyway, I'll shut up about this site now. (TezukaFuji, OishiEiji, Sanzo+Gojyo, Sanzo+Hakkai, Gojyo+Hakkai, Tatsumi+Tsuzuki, Muraki+Tsuzuki, other mild shounen ai vibes.)

- Saiyuki/Trigun - Yomiuri Kawaraban [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - The Saiyuki illustrations on this site seem very familiar to me, so I'm wondering if I've rec'd this site before (or at least visited it), but I can't find it on my list of recs, so... well, here goes anyway. ^_~ The Saiyuki illustrations on this site are amazing, the artist has really captured the feel of Minekura's style, putting what I love about the mangaka's work into the fanartist's illustrations down to an amazing level. Everything is amazing about them, from the amount of details to the lines to the shading to the use of colors to the fanservice poses, really one of the better artists for the series I've seen out there. Plus, the Kenren and Tenpou favoritism REALLY didn't hurt my feelings. ^_______^ The very last illustration in the Trigun section was wonderful and there's some nice Trigun art in the presents section. (Kenren/Tenpou and WolfwoodxVash.)

- Saiyuki - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, fanart does something to me, I'm not sure why. But the fanart on this site is just... absolutely, stunningly lovely--a few of them are somehow off or just don't have the same amount of details or whatever, but then along will come one (out of about every five, I'd say) that I could practically swear was on the same level as the official art itself, only even more intimate/meaningful/fangirlable/fanservicey/whatever. Her colors are just fantastic and the artist really has a knack for Minekura-style poses and situations and feels with her art, so the whole tone of the art really fit with the characters. Plus... she does an absolutely incredible Gojyo. And I love fanart. XD;; (Some Gojyo/Hakkai.)

- Saiyuki - interlude [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - O...OMG I am IN LOVE WITH this site. *__* Just... the art isn't overdone, it's simple in some ways, relying on a softness to the illustrations and using gentle, light colors to create these illustrations that are almost airy, but still just... beautiful and powerful. (The one of Hakkai lying down with Sanzo's hand in his? I wibble with the impact of it. ;__; ) Also, her characters are gorgeous--her Sanzo (or Konzen) makes me swoon, her Hakkai makes me flutter, her Gojyo makes me go all starry eyed, and her Goku is ADORABLE. It's just... when Hakkai is asleep and she uses these amazing shades of purple for him? GORGEOUS. When Sanzo leans over Hakkai to kiss him or when they're both in suits or when Konzen and Tenpou are back to back or when Tenpou and Kenren are back to back in uniforms or when she draws Homura or when Gojyo and Hakkai are leaning over to kiss each other or when Hakkai and Goku are walking in the show or when Konzen and Goku are in Halloween costumes? ALL GORGEOUS. THe kind that make me twirl around the room in glee and declare this my favorite Saiyuki fanart site ever. *spins happily* (Some Sanzo/Hakkai, some Gojyo/Hakkai, maybe a liiiiiiittle Goku/Hakkai.)

- Saiyuki - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is one of those sites where I could just not stop squee'ing over how incredible the art is--the artiest does these beautiful Gojyo/Hakkai and Kenren/Tenpou illustrations that just make me go *___* over them. And then! And then! I mean, not only does she do the most gorgeous Tenpou practically just about ever, but her Sanzo? Her Konzen? GORGEOUS. I about swooned right off my chair and onto the floor a couple of times. *__* I mean, yes, some of them could stand to be tightened up, but when the artist is on her game, she's doing these incredible Gojyo/Hakkai illustrations that are just amazing. There are even a couple of really fantastic Kanzeon Bosatsu illustrations that I really liked. And she really captures the Saiyuki feel, I guess; there are a lot of details and some really nice shading and the whole lounging around and looking hot thing is totally happening here. XD Fantastic site, love it muchly. ♥ (Some GojyoxHakkai/KenrenxTenpou, a lot of gen, too.)

- Saiyuki - Sukarubanku [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Another site that Noel pointed me towards and it took me awhile to warm up to the artist's style, it's a lot like Minekura's only a little shakier, but there was this one image of Christmas!Sanzo toting reindeer!Goku in a sack and the expressions on their faces were just so great I had to be won over by it. XD The rest of the art could use some tightening up, but given how little Saiyuki fanart is out there, this is actually one of the better sites and the artist does a fairly good selection of different concepts and the occasional image that's just really well-done. And I don't mind the similarities to Minekura's style when the artist is going to give me Konzen fanart tossed in once every so often. ^_~ Or Tidus!Homura x Yuna!Goku. Because how can you NOT love that? <3 The more recent stuff tightens up the style and there's one of Sanzo and Goku not-quite-hugging that's just good, which makes me really look forward to what she'll do next. A solid site, worth a look, I think. (Some Sanzo/Goku implied, some Hakkai/Gojyo implied, a lot of gen.)

- Saiyuki - EGS [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - So everyone knows how I feel about 58 and how I wish like hell I could like it, because then I would probably be through the roof for sites like this. Instead, I tend to appreciate them more on a single character level and mutter, "I really wish I could like this pairing." to myself because I get why people like it. And the art on this site has moments of it just being utterly beautiful and amazingly done--there's one of Gojyo kissing Hakkai's scar that used the colors so damned beautifully, the brilliant reds against the blacks of Hakkai's hair and just a hint of green for his eyes. It was just... wow, that one hit me hard. Then there was the one of them lying down together and it's red and red and red everywhere except for the black of Hakkai's hair and the tiny bit of green for his eyes and it's just beautiful. The art is lovely and probably one of the better sites out there, I think. (Gojyo/Hakkai.)

- Saiyuki - Funny Vegetables [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I sat on the fence about this site for quite some time, but two things eventually got me to give in. One, there is the most adorable kiddie!Gojyo fanart that just totally, utterly made me squee. Two, there were Kanan illustrations! Including a total wibble-worthy one of her and Gonou that just made me sigh happily because I love that pairing. Mostly, the site was just really cute, some decent art on it with occasional squee-worthy stuff--like the artist's black and white images that I admit I squeed over. I suspect it'll do more for 58 fans than it did for me, but it's a good, solid site and Saiyuki j-fanart needs more of those. (Gojyo/Hakkai, a hint of Gonou/Kanan.)
