Dooku Captured, Pt 2 by DarthNickels, dooku & anakin & obi-wan & palpatine & yoda, 16.6k
Dooku is taken alive onboard the Invisible Hand, and Sidious' web is torn. The Sith Lord wonders if death might have been preferable to clumsy interrogation by Anakin Skywalker.
I absolutely fell in love with this fic because it's a great balance of, as the tag says, Dooku being a cranky Sith grandpa and of his presence changing things just enough to avoid some really tragic turns. The writing is fantastic, the characterization is great, and it gets that blend of Anakin being the Chosen One, the most special, with that he's kind of an idiot sometimes/a lot of times. There's this sense of underlying humor about the whole thing, yet it doesn't sacrifice the drama of it, I never took it less than seriously, and the possibilities that it brought up and explored were fantastic, making it such a satisfying read. It's also a great look at a character that I didn't expect to be interested in, but absolutely was and honestly have a newfound appreciation for him, which is always nice to find in fic! All of it is absolutely so interesting and the author did justice to the concept of the story.

Wake the Storm by bedlamsbard, obi-wan & anakin & cast, 75.4k
Considering that he had picked up what was probably a Sith artifact, promptly passed out in the middle of a war zone, and apparently woken up twenty years in the future with Obi-Wan having taken up residence in his head, Anakin thought he was entitled to have a few questions.
So, I pretty much sunk into this fic and didn't come out again until I'd read the whole thing, I just absolutely couldn't put it down! My only caveat is that, while the build-ups and suspense are stellar, you just kind of have to roll with that the fic is not as strong at reveals. The way the fic is structured, there's a lot of "omg when will Character A find out about Character b????" that don't necessarily happen or happen late in the fic or aren't pieced together when they should be or aren't dwelled on for long. I don't think this is a huge detriment, so long as you know what you're getting ahead of time, though, because what the fic is about (Anakin skipping around the timeline and other universes, dragging Obi-Wan along with him) is absolutely fantastic. The writing is incredibly engaging, it's the kind where I find this far more readable than a lot of professionally published books, that the plot structure and pacing of the scenes is all rock solid for me. (Tbh, probably the only reason any caveats occur to me at all is because the fic as a whole is so well written.)

The characterization is lovely and gets at the heart of what I wanted--where Anakin experiences the destruction and tragedy that happens, his horror at it solidified by the time he finds out his connection to it, as well as his interaction with Obi-Wan is strengthened up because of what Obi-Wan has been through and how he's seeing Anakin again and how much time he's had to think over the events of Anakin's future. The plot is interesting and the fic spends time with each world but doesn't linger and there has clearly been thought given to setting all of it up, but it blends into the story perfectly, like... you know those fics you can pick up and just read and read and read because they're so engaging and written with such good pacing that you don't want to put it down, that even when it shifts gears, you find yourself rolling right along with it because you want to know what happens next? That's what this fic did for me, I was so curious about where it was going next and how this was all going to affect them.

While this story itself is gen, you can tell that the story is heading towards Obi-Wan/Anakin/Padme, so it spends time building Obi-Wan/Anakin back up and shifting it to romantic instead of platonic, that it doesn't happen here at all, but you can feel how desperately Anakin loves Obi-Wan and how Obi-Wan has been given the time to really reflect on feelings and attachment and on Anakin in general, so that I believe it. Plus, I'm a sucker for all the little touches, like Anakin sleeping on Obi-Wan or the way he touches Anakin after he goes through a tough time, it got me right in the feelings place, to go along with the intriguing greater story. I am now going to proceed to dive right into the monster sequel fic and probably roll around in my feelings some more.

In Between by ashdeniesreality, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, spanking, 1.7k
Obi-Wan and Anakin rarely even see each other these days, so they have to make the most of it when they do.
Do you know how badly I wanted fic set after that moment in Episode II where Anakin is talking back and spouting off out of turn and Obi-Wan just fucking looks at him? Where Obi-Wan made sure that little shit couldn't sit down for a week? So, okay, I really have needs in this fandom and bless this fic for giving me spanking fic! It's after Anakin has become a Jedi Knight and they're together now, but it's the same impulse that lead me to it and made it satisfying for me, that Anakin enjoys being a little shit and having Obi-Wan take him back in hand and then fucking him thoroughly. Very, very satisfying porn and now I'm just that much less antsy with this fandom!

Immutable, or, Five Times Obi-Wan Kenobi Compromised His Jedi Ethics for Anakin Skywalker by bedlamsbard, obi-wan/anakin & anakin/padme, 1.6k
"I think that I would betray my vows for him."
I love this fic so much because it fits with how I see Obi-Wan, who is such a model Jedi, who truly believes in the Jedi way, but who also deeply loves Anakin, who might have thrown it all away in just the right circumstances, for Anakin. You can feel in each scene how much Obi-Wan loves him, you can feel just what Obi-Wan would do for him. It's just the right balance of solid morality of the character with the undercurrents of darkness that could be there, if everything went pear-shaped in just the right way, that I see with Obi-Wan.

Unconventional Means by OverTheSeas, obi-wan & anakin, spanking, 21.7k
Obi-Wan does not agree with Anakin's new chosen method of releasing his emotions and decides to take matters into his own hands.
I admit, I didn't know how I was going to feel about this fic when I picked it up, but I have a weakness for spanking fic, even if I usually like it in my pairing fic instead. And I admit I skimmed a bit of the first chapter, intending to get to the more interesting stuff, but once I hit the second chapter, I found myself getting genuinely engrossed in the story. What works so well about this fic is that it works better as a platonic relationship, it's not quite parental but it's not quite friendship either but neither is it at all about sex, instead this is entirely about emotions and the incredible amount of catharcism that Anakin needs from this. He's wrapped himself up so tightly that he spills his emotions all over the place, he needs to vent them out and nothing else works, and the fic clearly enjoys the actual spanking part of this concept, but it's absolutely centered on the emotional release.

The heart of the fic absolutely nails the issues between Obi-Wan and Anakin, the painful things that aren't being said between them, that this breaking point that Anakin needs to be able to let go of his emotions is something that pulls out things that really needed to be said between them, so you can feel it shifting their dynamic into something healthier, no matter how odd or unconventional this is. And it's not just Anakin's issues that are at the center of this, the fic also understands Obi-Wan's issues and does a fantastic job with them as well, that he was raised as a Jedi, that this is something he doesn't understand, but he loves Anakin and so he forges ahead anyway. The conversations about what's happening, the way Obi-Wan is unmovable about how this is going to happen, the way Anakin is horribly embarrassed (but not in a way that hits my embarrassment squick!) and just wants to ignore the problem, the way this really is about a dom/sub relationship without sex, how Obi-Wan is like the single greatest dom ever and it allows Anakin to work through everything that's tangled up in him, oh, man, it was so good for me.

The fic lovingly takes its time with the aftercare, both in the way Anakin curls up on Obi-Wan and is able to cry, the way Obi-Wan's heart hurts through all of this but he's strong enough to guide them both forward, the way he doesn't like this any more than Anakin, but knows they have to talk about everything, especially about their relationship and how they need something different, jfc, I went into this fic expecting cheesy spanking fic to scratch my id, but instead I got emotional porn and I honest to god would have read 100k of this and I'm so sad I don't have more of this one. So, so satisfying.

First Watch by amarielah, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 1k
Missing scene from the episode "In Search of the Crystal". After Obi-Wan goes to sleep following their awkward fire-side chat, Anakin broods on all the things he wants but cannot have.
Oh, another fic that's just so heartbreaking and perfectly written, that Anakin is such a mess and he loves so intensely and wants so much, but he can't bring himself to reach out. The way he sees Obi-Wan, loves him so much and knows that Obi-Wan would never give him what he wants so badly, not out of cruelty but because it's not Obi-Wan's way, it has such a sharp-edged hurt to it that's absolutely perfect, even as I'm crying about not wanting to be punched in the feelings anymore. I loved the brief moments of sex, the way Anakin touches himself and thinks of how he wishes Obi-Wan would fuck him, how it's hot and painful at the same time, that it satisfies my porn wants while also making me way to lie down and stare at the ceiling for how difficult everything must be. Gorgeous.

Gravity by patientalien, obi-wan & anakin, 7.9k
After coming out of the Zone of SelfContainment, Anakin looks for something to duplicate the feeling.
I am ridiculously into whump fic for Anakin, whether emotional or physical (and this is a bit of both), so fic where he's addicted to a drug that distances him from his emotions, which sends him into a destructive spiral because Anakin Skywalker is a goddamned mess? Yeah, give me that. Especially because Obi-Wan obviously loves him so much and will pull him back out and it forces them into a situation where they have to speak a little more plainly with each other and nudges them towards maybe fixing the things that linger around Anakin. I'm always here for that.

starbird by imaginarykat, obi-wan/anakin, 8.8k
Anakin thinks he knows everything about Obi-Wan but doesn't. Anakin thinks a lot of things, actually, and he's wrong about most of them. Anakin's whole world view is turned upside down. Obi-Wan is having the time of his life.
When I first started reading PT fic, I was so focused on Anakin's character because he's such a tangled mess of emotions and it was so interesting to try to pull him apart and look at what made him tick, that I didn't really realize just how much Obi-Wan's character was sneaking up on me, not until I started reading fic that actually understood the character. And so when I started reading this one, I just inhaled it because, oh, for as much as this is an Anakin piece and does a lovely job with the way he's constantly tripping over himself emotionally, it's Obi-Wan who really struck me here, how incredibly focused he is and how centered he is, which is why the dynamic works so well with Anakin, who is none of those things. The language of the fic is lovely, the use of stories from Tattoine when Anakin was a kid, the pacing of the scenes over their years together, but it's really the details that get me, the way Obi-Wan is so... laser-focused, sharp, precise.

Trying to balance Obi-Wan's calm nature with that he is passionate and loves deeply can be difficult, but I think it's this fic and the way it got me thinking that put it into perspective: it's not that Obi-Wan is just one or the other of these things, but that this is someone who knows himself and who has such strength of character that, no matter what happens, he will always rise up from the ashes and continue forward, this is someone who has found balance, both in peace and in being almost a predator, but always on the side of good. And of course Anakin gravitates to that, is in awe of it, is in love with Obi-Wan. I loved so many scenes in this fic, the way Obi-Wan can care so much and yet gives no fucks, the way he's passionate and will push Anakin down to kiss him, yet he's entirely in control of what he's doing, it's just. Oh, it was so satisfying and such a beautiful fic to read and so spot on.

Anakin Skywalker and the Stray Droid by protos_metazu_ison, obi-wan/anakin + background anakin/padme + droid character, 6.8k wip
Anakin adopts a stray droid, much to Obi-Wan’s displeasure, which is fine because Rusty doesn’t like Obi-Wan all that much either.
Another fic that I just entirely ate up because it was such an absolute delight to read! I intensely loved the use of the droid character to set the pov of the fic through, I love that it feels so right to the Star Wars universe and to Anakin's character especially to take on a droid that has such personality, that I was instantly fond of and cared about and wanted to protect because it deserved better! I love Anakin's love for droids, I love that the fic knows exactly how much to use that without going overboard, because there's other things going on in Anakin's life, including a plot against the galactic Senate that the Jedi have to take care of, as well as Anakin's struggle not to be a little shit to Obi-Wan because he's conflicted about his feelings and trying to hide his relationship with Padme and so he's lashing out because he's unstable. There's such charm here and the writing is so smooth and I just found myself getting really invested in pretty much everything that's going on here and I'm eager for the next chapter!

Limitless by patientalien, obi-wan/anakin (pre-slash?), 8.1k
Anakin pushes himself too hard and Obi-Wan tries to get him to realize his limits. On a mission to bring down a dangerous enemy, Anakin's stubbornness puts him at risk, and a familiar face threatens to cause a rift between the Hero With No Fear and The Negotiator.
This is a fic that's just sort of a snippet (for all that it's a lengthy snippet!) of Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting side by side and Anakin pushing himself too far until he collapses and Obi-Wan has to pick him up and take him back to get taken care of. The writing is solid and lovely, where it's all these little moments of the quiet but deep care (love, really) between them, these little touches where they reach out to each other, where Obi-Wan touches Anakin's face or Anakin touches Obi-Wan's hand, even in the middle of the fucked up war they're fighting, because they do love each other, even if it's not the usual Jedi way. It's a lovely read.

Eye of the Storm by citizenjess (givehimonemore), patientalien, obi-wan/anakin, 3.8k
One take on how Anakin got that infamous scar.
A short piece about Anakin's scar, as Obi-Wan takes care of him while Anakin broods and is sullen about everything, anger swirling around him as always. The quiet care and love between them, the way Obi-Wan can bring Anakin back to his emotional center, even as Anakin's feelings for him are just as intense as anything, the way the fic balances between the something more that's there and that this is about comfort more than anything, it worked nicely for me.

Teachers by Selena, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 4.6k
Eight lessons Anakin Skywalker learns through Ahsoka Tano, and one Darth Vader does.
One of the best things about TCW is Ahsoka's character, both because I absolutely ador her for herself, but because she's so similar to Anakin in a lot of ways (but also different in some really important ways) and it allows for insight into his character and to get him to grow even more. I would read a thousand fics about this time in their lives and fics like this are why--it's balanced between daily slice of life stuff and the greater lessons they teach each other, the bigger epic moments of their lives. And Anakin does change because of her, in both good and bad ways, because of how things end up, so it's a lovely amount of happiness to go with the heartbreak. Plus there are a couple of quick moments of Obi-Wan watching over them, sometimes in a bittersweet way, but sometimes in a "this is payback for everything you put me through, you little shit, and I am going to enjoy this"... if more subtle, in an Obi-Wan sort of way. I will read a thousand fics for every bit of a hint of that, too.

Legends by Princess Electra, dooku & obi-wan & anakin & yoda & qui-gon, 1.6k
Beyond his mortal coil, Dooku reflects on the line of legendary Masters and Padawans, and their ultimate downfall
This was a really lovely piece on a more bird's eye view of the line of Masters and Padawans, from Yoda to Dooku to Qui-Gon to Obi-Wan to Anakin (written before The Clone Wars started, so no Ahsoka, sadly), about what great heights they achieved and yet why they were nearly destined to fail. It's a lovely piece for Dooku's character, I can see this being how he sees things after his death, the peace he would gain in the Force and how he would look at their line, especially with Obi-Wan and Anakin, how much they loved each other and the way it's presented as... I don't want to say bad, because it wasn't, but that it was also why they were different and it contributed to why they all fell. It's bittersweet, but in the way the ending of Star Wars ultimately should be--there's hope and new life, there was good amongst all the bad, and eventually there's peace. I really, really enjoyed this a lot.

Fever by patientalien, obi-wan & anakin, 2.3k
In the jungles of Drongar, Anakin gets sick.
This is another snippet-esque fic where Anakin gets sick and Obi-Wan sits with him while he recovers, because Anakin pushes himself too far and doesn't seem to always get that people care about him. It's subtle and could be pre-slash or could be gen, it works either way, it has some nice little moments that are just about the quiet, understated, but deep care between the two of them. Plus, you know me, I'm always weak to sickfic.

Aloud by 221B.B, obi-wan & anakin, 2k
A relatively small injury that should have simply been taken of develops into something just a tad more.
I am entirely here for fic that's about how Obi-Wan considers pretty much all wounds to be minor and Anakin is obnoxiously fussy about it because underneath he's kind of freaking out that Obi-Wan is hurt. Give me that always, especially when there's banter layered over the top of it and it's like pulling teeth to get anything beyond calm serenity out of Obi-Wan. It's a short piece, but one of those that I love that's so easy to see between the scenes of canon during the Clone War that I'm sure happened a thousand times and gets me right in the feelings place.

Thank you, master by QueenYoda, obi-wan & anakin, 2.6k
On a desolate night, Anakin reflects on all his master has done. To Obi-wan's surprise, he also thanks him for it.
This fic really needed a scrub with the grammar brush, but what's underneath that is so incredibly solid and true to character that I found myself unable to hit the back button. It's banter and a quiet moment where Obi-Wan sticks hard to his Jedi serenity and it drives Anakin up the wall, because he cares so deeply and wants more from Obi-Wan, and this is a fic where he gets that, where they connect in a way that is why I keep coming back to these two again and again. There's a comfortable dynamic between them, this is so easy to picture in The Clone Wars era and style because it fits with how they interact, the way they verbally jab at each other and easily touch each other, so I wound up really fond of this one and the way it got into my feelings place by the end.

The Making of a Master by Sokaless, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 7.3k
In the beginning, he'd had his doubts about Anakin's ability to train an apprentice. But as Obi-Wan watches Anakin and Ahsoka throughout the Clone Wars, he finds the two have a lot to teach him about attachment, respect, and how to be a friend.
I am always here for Anakin and Ahsoka interaction, I fell in love with them instantly and this is a lovely look at their dynamic, while Obi-Wan watches over them and is still there for Anakin at times, too. For all that we know Ahsoka's time with her Master ends on a bittersweet note, that doesn't mean their interaction was anything less than wonderful and I really enjoyed how well they worked together, how it wasn't always perfect but they clearly cared and were kindred spirits of a sort. The ending was especially heartbreaking in that light and made for a really solid, good read.

No, Never Recovered by LadySkywalkerKirkland, obi-wan & anakin, 4.2k
When someone fakes their own death in front of their best friend in order to get the most believable reaction, something is bound to be lost. And whatever might be regained, it will never be entirely recovered. No, never recovered.
Oh, this was a lovely but heartbreaking fic, set during the arc of The Clone Wars where Obi-Wan fakes his death and it's not until too late that any of them realize the damage this does to the relationship with Anakin, it's only in knowing where Anakin's road ultimately leads that you really see the misstep, because it's not like Obi-Wan knew it wouldn't hurt or that there would be a temporary loss of trust, but... it's the reader who really sees how painful this is, how they miss each other and misunderstand and how painful that's going to end up being. It's not the sole case, but you understand it as one more piece of the puzzle and the writing is lovely.

The Storm is Here by Spongyllama, obi-wan & anakin, 3.2k
Anakin tries to deal with his overwhelming guilt and grief in the wake of Obi-Wan's apparent death in the Deception arc of The Clone Wars.
Oh, my heart. Anakin's grief after Obi-Wan's death, how he tries to hold it together and just can't, the way it feels like his emotional rug has been ripped out from under him, it's both the most delicious thing and the most painful thing for me to read. The fic does a beautiful job of showing how hard Anakin is trying here, but that his feelings are roiling up in him, until they finally spill over and it hurts so much, not even knowing Obi-Wan will come back makes this much easier to read, in exactly the way it's supposed to. Ouchy, but so good a read.

Safe Haven by AnakinCaffrey, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 2.7k
He always had his best friend to turn to as his safe haven.
I admit that I skimmed the first half of the fic, it was a retread of the s5 finale of TCW and it was more tell-than-show, but the second half hit me where I live, where Anakin's just so devastated by Ahsoka's leaving that he turns to Obi-Wan for comfort, who may not technically be his Master anymore, but will always be there to comfort him and hold him close. Ie, GIVE ME ALL THE BED SNUGGLING, I need it, okay. And this fic gave me that and so my heart both hurts and feels better now.

Twilight of the Apprentice: Coda by crowleyshouseplant, anakin & ahsoka, 2k
Ahsoka and Anakin after the explosion of the Sith Temple.
Oh, this fic had my heart aching the entire time I read it, it's so spot on with Ahsoka's POV on meeting Vader again for the first time, the moments just after the S2 finale of Rebels and this is perfect for both of them. It's heartbreaking and says so much about both of them, the huge divide that stands between them but also the connection that's still there, how much they both mean to each other. It's such a gorgeous piece and it's just the right amount of hopeful while still being so very painful that it's perfect Star Wars material.

Favor Well Won by cadesama, obi-wan & anakin & padme & ahsoka & rex, 1.5k
What's sabacc without a little wager?
I am always here for downtime with the Star Wars characters during the Clone Wars, where they have nothing else to do but sit around and play cards and it's set from Ahsoka's pov, so it's sheer delight all the way through. It's a simple piece, they're playing a game and it's all going terribly, but it's filled with great little insights, the way Ahsoka is vaguely disgusted at the way Anakin and Padme are practically making moon eyes at each other, the way she's vaguely disgusted at how easily Obi-Wan and Anakin will slip into conspiring with each other, the way you can feel that Obi-Wan is an asshole when it suits him, and that all of them are just a joy to have in the same room because they've come to know each other so well and they're all so important to each other. It's a between the frames of canon kind of fic that's just a joy to read!

Apologies by lauramariadavis, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 1.2k
Set in season 4 of the Clone Wars, the aftermath of Obi-Wan faking his own death.
What I really loved about this fic is just how many feelings Anakin is leaking all over the place and how wound up this makes him and how angry he is at Obi-Wan for faking his death, but Obi-Wan is only willing to allow that so far, that he's sorry and he'll work to repair the trust, but that Anakin behaving like a brat isn't tolerable... and then jumping on each other and jerking each other off because the exploding of feelings snaps something in both of them. Like, yes, one of the best parts of a storyline like a faked death is the aftermath of what bubbles up to the surface because tensions are running so high and I am all for it, especially when it gives me feelings like this one.

Anakin Skywalker and the Stray Droid by protos_metazu_ison, obi-wan/anakin + anakin/padme + ocs, 5.6k for this part / 12.7k wip overall
Anakin adopts a stray droid, much to Obi-Wan’s displeasure, which is fine because Rusty doesn’t like Obi-Wan all that much either.
Chapter 2: This is an update rec so it links to the second chapter, because I want to and because I have feelings that I must get out. This fic is one of those that really knows how to lay on the angst in a way that feels razor sharp to me, my fannish heart actually hurt during all the moments it should have, because I care about these characters and because the author does a lovely job of showing how they're falling apart, how they're terrible at communicating with each other, and getting me to believe it. It's difficult to walk a deft line with Obi-Wan and Anakin trying to distance themselves from each other, to get me to believe that they would, that they would do it in the way they do so here, but both characters are intelligent and especially Obi-Wan knows what he's doing, even if I disagree with him, it feels right to the character and that kept me just hungrily eating up every word of this fic, that they're such a mess, that Anakin especially is just an utter mess, that Obi-Wan is so strongly intelligent and principled and it gets them into trouble, that it was a beautiful read.

Jedi Octopus by Vee017, obi-wan/anakin, ~1k
Obi-Wan attempts to escape from bed. The problem being a little heavy.
I am 100% here for Anakin being an octopus cuddler even in his sleep, that he'll fling arms and legs around the person he loves and refuse to let go, he'll totally koala anyone that comes in range, even while dead asleep, so this was super delightful as Obi-Wan wakes up with an immovable brat attached to him and doesn't want to wake him up, so he has to very carefully slide away from him. It's adorable and fun and one of those feel-good pieces I always need more of in this fandom!

i need to get my story straight by lealila, obi-wan & ahsoka & anakin, 4.5k
Seekers, not saints, and Ahsoka doesn't understand this until she builds her shoto blade in the ruins of Mortis.
This is from a series where Ahsoka is Obi-Wan's Padawan instead, but you can read it as a stand-alone, it's really more a story about Ahsoka's character, as told through snippets and tiny bits of insight into these moments in her life. It's lovely writing and it finds a good balance between echoing/touching on canon and how things are a little different in this universe, I really liked the bits we get to see of Obi-Wan being her Master here instead, as well as the background Obi-Wan & Anakin relationship still remains super strong, as seen through Ahsoka's eyes. But absolutely the heart of this fic is on Ahsoka's character and what's in her heart and what she faces and how she tries to interpret the world around her and it made me fall in love with her character all over again.

Hypothetically Speaking by skygawker, obi-wan & anakin + mentions of ahsoka, 1.9k
Anakin poses a not-entirely-hypothetical question to his former master after Ahsoka chooses to leave the Order. Obi-Wan cannot quite understand why he asked it.
Well, my heart hurt by the time I finished reading this fic, because it really is a bittersweet and spot-on look at a question that makes perfect sense the way the fic built it up here. And I appreciate how delicate a line that was to walk, to not be too obvious, that Obi-Wan would be suspicious about what Anakin means while not actually getting it, yet it's perfectly clear to the reader what Anakin is talking about. The line walked for that conversation was perfect, it was so easy to see and so easy to pick up on all the undercurrents and how unbalanced Anakin was and how much my heart hurt for the way things are going wrong, despite that these people care so much about each other and it could have worked out, even when I get why it didn't. This was a fantastic read tonight.

Trying to Connect by skygawker, obi-wan & anakin + mentions of obi-wan/satine, 2.7k
Anakin tries to talk to Obi-Wan in the aftermath of Satine Kryze's death. It goes about as well as you might expect.
Oh, I loved this fic as well, it was such a bittersweet and well-written fic about Anakin stubbornly trying to get Obi-Wan to talk to him about Satine, trying to get Obi-Wan to admit to his feelings, the undercurrent I felt of how desperately Anakin needed Obi-Wan to admit to them because of his own feelings for Padme and for his own feelings about Obi-Wan, as well as the way the conversation didn't go as Anakin expected it to. It was a painful moment and it ends well, but you can see the cracks in the foundation of Anakin's character, so even when it ends on a reasonably good note, there's such heartbreak in it because we know where this is all going. A really good read that I enjoyed a lot, for all that my fannish heart hurt afterwards!

Battle Scars by Rocket_Sith, obi-wan/anakin & ahsoka, 3.8k
Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka deal with the fall-out of the Zygerria slavery incident. Anakin deals with his past, Obi-Wan deals with Anakin, and Ahsoka deals with nightmares. And with Anakin.
Oh, this was a gorgeous fic, where it's just the right balance of something heartwarming with the utter heartbreak these characters have been through in their lives. It's split between the Obi-Wan/Anakin relationship and the Anakin & Ahsoka relationship, both where comfort is given when needed, you don't really have to know the specifics (though, it adds context if you do, but it's not 100% necessary) and does a lovely job of showing just how difficult and painful these characters' lives are. My fannish heart ached for the way Anakin was so damaged by what he's been through, but happy that Obi-Wan could hold him close and it helped. I loved every moment of their being curled up in bed together, I love that Anakin of course says something terrible that made me laugh, and I loved that Anakin's relationship with Ahsoka is just as important and heartbreaking, that he understands what she's going through absolutely and how they find their way back from the nightmares was perfect. This was such a good fic!

Anakin is having a hard time ordering his new padawan into dangerous situations. Ahsoka is having a hard time listening to her new master's commands. Obi-Wan is just along for the ride.
While this is the third fic in a series, you don't necessarily have to read it in order, all you need to know is in the author's notes, and the point of it is really on the early days of Ahsoka's Padawanship, that she and Anakin take awhile to really get in sync, but thank god Obi-Wan is there to help guide them both. It's lovely for the way the Obi-Wan/Anakin relationship has an undercurrent of something more to it, the way they seamlessly work together, whether in sparring or in actual battle, the way there's a fun tension between them when they banter, but also lovely fo the way Ahsoka is absolutely perfect, the way there's such care there for her from Anakin, even though he has trouble expressing it. It was a great "scenes from the early days of the Clone Wars" with these three and I loved it for both my shipping needs and my Ahsoka Tano needs.

This is Their Love by Resacon1990, obi-wan/anakin & cast, 8.3k
Or, six people who notice Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker have a less than platonic relationship.
This was a fun, engaging look at the Obi-Wan/Anakin relationship as seen through six outsiders' povs and was a fun way to look at those little moments where you can just feel it from both of them, that they stand a little too close or they're a little too intense about the other or they don't seem like they recognize anyone else being in the room with them, that they're wrapped up in each other even before they're actually together. The fic does have a bit more Angry About The Code!Mace than I would have liked, but it's softened by the end of his scene and the overall tone of this fic is a good one, it's not quite light-hearted, but good, in a way that I want for the characters. It's such a charming read as pretty much everyone in the galaxy can just feel how they look at each other, how they orbit each other like no one else does, and that is just entirely what I'm here for, the way they love each other so much, the way they look at each other with stars in their eyes. Just. Yes. My heart needed a lovely fic like this, especially with how well done each of the POVs was, each set at a different point in time and how well each of them were used, there's a really good, smooth flow to the whole thing!

Caught in the Tide by brinnanza, obi-wan & anakin, ~1k
He takes one look at the boy, his pale skin, the dark bags under his red-rimmed eyes, and breathes a soft sigh. “Oh, Anakin,” he says gently and steps aside to let his former padawan into the room.
This is short but pretty much exactly what I wanted--Anakin going to Obi-Wan for comfort when he's an absolute mess, just curling up on his former Master because he doesn't know what to do and can't really say it, but Obi-Wan doesn't ask too many questions, just puts his arms around Anakin and tells him he's got him. It's a lovely piece because it doesn't try too hard, it just lets the moment have its space and offers comfort without trying to fix everything, it's warm-hearted while still being painful--everything I want out of these two characters.

Collapse by Susan Zell, obi-wan & anakin & padme (some canon pairing), 27.8k
A diplomatic mission goes awry, leaving Obi-wan, Anakin, and Padmé struggling to survive an assassination attempt.
This is one of those fics that I went into for a good old fashioned gen action/adventure + whump + Jedi badassery fic and got exactly what I was hoping for! The thing that really won my heart of hearts is that the fic was very into both Obi-Wan and Anakin being incredible with their skills and power as Jedi, that there's a bit of a rough start to the fic, but by the time they're outrunning the assassination attempt, it's just 24/7 hardcore Jedi powers. It's possibly more than they can do in canon, they literally hold half a mountain up at one point, but the fic doesn't overpower one over the other, you can tell the author is greatly fond of Obi-Wan's character, but never at the expense of Anakin or Padme, they're both absolutely wonderful and brilliant in their own ways as well! The other thing that makes it so satisfying is that that badassery comes at a cost, they seriously damage themselves and half of the fic is them being out of comission/too burnt out to do much more than collapse--but, again, the fic does so with care and thought to the characters, so that it's never about weakening them, it's never making them less than they are, it always leaves me feeling, "....whoa." even when they're hurt, because I just saw what they were capable of.

The fic is great about keeping all three characters involved and given focus, even if they don't always have something to do, them being there is important and they all obviously care greatly about each other, so as much as I enjoyed it for the plot, as much as I enjoyed it for the action and powers, I also enjoyed it for the characters themselves. It's one of those really solid pieces that just satisfied the itch I had for genfic, for Obi-Wan getting to do incredible Jedi feats, for Anakin being a fantastic Jedi warrior, for Padme being such a kind and insightful person. It's not terribly long, it's great for whump/iron willed characters, and great just for my gen-loving soul.

somewhere, this is truth by xpityx, obi-wan/anakin, 3.5k
I would never do that, he thinks, not for the first time, I would never hurt Anakin.
Obi-Wan is having dreams of killing Anakin, echoes of the battle on Mustafar in an AU where it hasn't happened yet, and it's deeply disquieting to him. This is a slow, softer sort of fic, where it's about the tension between them and Obi-Wan trying to figure out what these dreams mean and Anakin being restless because he picks up on that something is bothering Obi-Wan. It's a story about giving them a warning and thus pushing them into connecting a little more strongly, Obi-Wan holding onto Anakin a little more tightly, which shifts their fates just enough that those terrible events don't happen. It's about the quiet intimacy between Obi-Wan and Anakin, which is exactly what I needed to read in this fandom, after all the heartache I've been put through.

Boat Ride by Spongyllama, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 3.3k
Being from the desert, Anakin never knew how easily seasick he gets until a mission on an ocean planet.
I am entirely here for this kind of fic! It's borderline shippy, it could be romance without the kissing/pre-slash if you want to see it that way, or it could be entirely platonic/familial, the way Obi-Wan and Anakin are around each other. But it's also the banter, the way there's amusement in the discomfort of the other, when Anakin gets seasick and reverts to speaking/hearing half of everything in Huttese and Obi-Wan is a little amused, but also puts an arm around Anakin and leans the poor brat against him, helps him through the worst of the nausea. It's banter combined with a deep connection/bond/emotional investment in each other, written with such absolute charm and sparkle that I ate it up like delicious candy.

After a particularly gruesome mission, Ahsoka has a nightmare. Anakin and Obi-Wan are there to help.
This was pretty much pure fluff to go with the angst, which is exactly what I needed after reading so much heavy-hearted angst lately. Sometimes I just want some moments where things are okay, where they have simple comfort in each other, where Anakin can give comfort to Ahsoka as well, where there's some soft kissing with Obi-Wan and Anakin, where there's cuddling with Ahsoka when she has a nightmare, and for a little while things are okay.

Okay but imagine the Jedi finding like, holonet fansites about them.
I read this entire fic with the biggest :D expression on my face, outright giggling at least twice, and now my face actually hurts because this is so goddamned precious and hilarious and great. The Star Wars universe with a holonet like our internet, with fansites and memes and message boards and of course Anakin and the clones will get in on that, Anakin especially so just to be an irritating little shit to Obi-Wan. And then they make it their mission to try to get Obi-Wan to actually smile on camera and it's the most hilarious, perfect thing with all their attempts and their plotting and just. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR, is basically my feeling after reading this, it's so great.

Obi-Wan and Anakin talk. Or not.
Well, this was a painful conversation between Obi-Wan and Anakin, where Anakin roundaboutly asks how Dooku's actions are considered and you realize what's driving them and what he's not saying and why Obi-Wan's words weigh him down so badly, even when Obi-Wan is saying nothing wrong. It's one of those all too improbable moments where you understand Anakin's terrible choices once he's started sliding down this terrible path and that makes it hurt all the more.

Rako Hardeen shot and killed Obi-Wan Kenobi. In his quest for justice, Anakin discovers that his teacher has been hiding some things from him.
I have such a thing for wingfic, so this was already going on my list of Things I Need In My Life, but I love that the wings were both id pleasing in and of themselves and used to resolve the issue of Rako Hardeen between them in a much more thorough way, it forces them into an actual conversation about the secrets and distance between them, so it's easier to see them on a much better track after this. Don't get me wrong, I read for the scene where Anakin falls off a cliff and Obi-Wan has to dive after him and use his wings and of course that makes Anakin realize it and it's such a great build-up and reveal (the imagery used, both for the wings and when Anakin reaches out to him, because he knows this person, oh, my heart, the image of those wings wrapped around Anakin, just stop punching me in the feelings already), but also the conversation where Anakin demands answers because Obi-Wan owes them just. Way to be id-pleasing and legitimately good fic!

There appears to be some sort of problem with Anakin's translation implant.
This was a short and cute little piece about Anakin not understanding what people are saying to him, not realizing that he's misunderstanding them, and being very much Anakin Skywalker about it. It's not terribly long but it was a fun read, especially if you enjoy Anakin's life being difficult, as I very much do. Plus, it was nice to have a light-hearted fic amongst all the heartache I've been reading lately!

Anecdotally by Elfpen, obi-wan & qui-gon & cast, 14.6k
The biggest stories are always made up of smaller ones. Here are some of the forgotten moments in the life of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Will feature a wide variety of genres, characters, eras, and AUs. Oneshots from whenever inspiration strikes.
This is a series of shorter fics collected together and they're all wonderful little stories centered around Obi-Wan and various situations he gets into. Most of them are centered around his relationship with Qui-Gon, whether as a Padawan Learner or when looking back as a Jedi Master or Qui-Gon in the Force looking over his former student, but there's also my favorite in chapter 4 where Obi-Wan duels Mace Windu and you get to see just what an incredible swordsman he really is, that between his own natural talent and his experience in the Clone War have made him into an unbeatable opponent. The scenes are all wonderful to read on their own, whether Obi-Wan is being brilliant or being entirely human, but as a collection they do a lovely job of showing the various facets of the character and why I love him so much. Though, honestly, as much as I love Obi-Wan being a little shit sometimes when he was younger, my favorite was definitely getting to see, holy shit, that guy is a Master of lightsaber battles, it pleases my affection for the character (and that he actually is brilliant) like you wouldn't believe.

The Ice-Breaking Game by sharkcar, padme & ahsoka & rex & cast, 7.1k
After contracting the Blue Shadow virus, Ahsoka Tano is quarantined in Theed, along with Senator Amidala and Captain Rex. They are three very different people, but they all share a restlessness that leaves them unable to endure their confinement. To pass the time, Padme suggests they play a question game, each telling stories about personal experiences. As all three share a humorous discussion, they learn about compassion and the importance of knowing perspectives different from their own.
I initially paused over this fic because the pairing tags are misleading and it's entirely gen with the exception of some background Anakin/Padme. It's a really cute gen fic with the three of them (Padme, Ahsoka, and Rex) trapped in quarantine together after the Blue Shadow Virus episode and they're bored out of their minds, so they start playing question games. It's a fun way to have the characters interacting with each other, to reveal bits and pieces of each of them, to examine how these three would work together, and also just to come up with a ton of little details about their various pasts. I love fics that do tiny bits of world-building through talking about situations they've been through and this fic had dozens of them, in addition to just a really solid, light-hearted, good conversation between the three of them, showing how much they've all come to mean to each other, how much meaning there is in all of their characters. I really enjoyed this one!

PROMPT: Anonymous asked: Obi-Wan and Ashoka mulling over their life choices in masters and padawans whilst waiting outside the Jedi council chambers for Anakin to finish being reprimanded for his latest stunt.
Oh, this was a gorgeous conversation between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, as Anakin is in a Council meeting (being very Anakin about it) and it's just the perfect tone for everything, both the serious moments, the bittersweet moments, and the happier moments, the more light-hearted moments. Obi-Wan is absolutely perfect here, that the fic finds the line between Ultimate Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and the man who finds a fair amount of this funny, who very much has a heart and cares very deeply about Anakin and Ahsoka as well, who recognizes the way they would have clashed if Ahsoka had been his Padawan instead of Anakin's. The brief mentions of Qui-Gon, the brief wonderings of What If, the focus on what is, all of it is absolutely gorgeous and perfect.

PROMPT: anakin has forgotten to bring snacks. again.
This was absolutely adorable! Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship is delightful, especially when they're crabbing at each other, and even moreso when they're both hungry and grumpy about it and whining at Obi-Wan about it. The whole thing is a joy, the ending especially so, and I have the biggest smile on my face now.

The One Where Barriss Is A Model Padawan And It's Kind Of Freaking Everyone Out by mylordshesacactus, luminara & implied ahsoka/barriss, 7.3k
“I wrote her a schedule for our time here the morning after we landed. Classes. Study time. Blocks for meditation. Training and exercise sessions. Even a lights-out restriction. Everything. She's following it, Quin." Luminara's voice was tinged with desperation. “To the letter.” “...Oh,” said Obi-Wan after a long moment. “Well. That's... not normal.”
I really enjoyed this fic a lot, the writing was lovely and while it has lots of silly/almost cracky moments, it's also a really nice look at Luminara's concern for Barriss being a little too upright, following the rules a little too much, and how Barriss' friendship with Ahsoka softens the edges of both girls. It's very understated in the character interactions (when they're not training, that is) and it's very laid back and friendly and easy, there's a soft, gentle connection that's very real between these two girls, and a very genuine concern from Luminara that was just really good to read. I love the idea of Ashoka/Barriss and this fic fit very nicely with how I see them at this point in time.

I am forever and always here for Anakin being such an utter brat when he's stiff and sore, forever and always here when Obi-Wan is amused by watching Anakin whine like a child. It's cute and adorable and fluffy fic that does my soul good to read, all charm and joy in every word.

Room For Two by Queen of the Castle, obi-wan/anakin + anakin/padme, 1.5k
For all that Anakin loves them equally, he doesn't need exactly the same things from Obi-Wan as from Padmé.
Oh, I loved this a lot. It's a bit of an understated piece and it balances that what Anakin gets from these two people aren't wholly different, but neither are they the same thing. I love how it's physical in both respects, that both run so deep with Anakin, but that they don't take the same form... even with the undercurrent that they could have been more similar. It fits so well with how I see the characters and the relationships, that Anakin wants physical relationships with both of them, that it could be (and maybe is at least to a degree) sexual with Obi-Wan the way it is with Padme, but it also works as a blurred combination of romantic and sexual and familial. The way he loves them both, the way one can never eclipse the other for Anakin, oh, that works so well for me.

BODY SWAP FIC YESSSS. Especially because it's... it's Anakin/Padme, but Anakin is in Padme's body and Padme is in Obi-Wan's body and they don't know how long this is going to last and so, you know, things are complicated. I loved every detail of this fic, I loved Padme watching Anakin in her body, the way she appreciates how she looks but also that there's a certain different kind of gracefulness to the body that's not hers, the way they're drawn to each other and of course they wind up having sex on the kitchen counter because, well. Anakin's in his wife's body and he loves that form, as well as this is the woman he loves and yet he's still seeing Obi-Wan and it's not quite fully there, but it's definitely something with Anakin's feelings towards his Master. Add in really lovely sex with some absolutely delightful details and absolutely great characterization and my only complaint is that this wasn't at least ten times longer.

In order to complete a mission, Anakin and Ahsoka are forced to have sex with each other, and then they have to deal with the awkwardness afterward.
I was wary going into an Anakin/Ahsoka fic, even with the notes that neither of them actually genuinely wants this, but I wound up really enjoying this one a lot, especially the aftermath, because, oh, Anakin is such a bundle of issues and Ahsoka cares so much about him and Padme is all things good and true and they are all goddamned lucky that Obi-Wan is a reasonable goddamned adult. It's in the way that the people around them help Anakin and Ahsoka through this that's the real highlight of the fic, the way they both feel so guilty and messed up over it, but Obi-Wan and Padme are so there, that it's not the disaster it could have been. Lovely.

Anakin Skywalker has some questions for Obi-Wan about the Duchess Satine, but Obi-Wan wants to discuss Anakin's actions.
One of the things I am entirely here for is that Anakin loves both Obi-Wan and Padme in similar but different ways, that they're not the same person but both of them are romantic loves for him. I love that there's an undercurrent of just how needy Anakin is, how desperate he is for confirmation of affection, and how his love for one doesn't negate his love for the other. The way there's still more to talk about after this, of course, but that the three of them can fit together is really solidly done here and made my heart feel better. Just imagining that little shit between the two of them, wrapped up and filled up with the two of their attentions, always makes me feel better.

Early Hours by ShakyHades, obi-wan/anakin, 1.4k
The story of Anakin's habit of waking up in the first hours of the day and his relationship with Obi-Wan.
Oh, I really liked this piece. It doesn't have dialogue really, it's entirely about the habits these two form and how they fit together without saying anything, using some really lovely little details. Anakin is a super early riser and I love that Obi-Wan matches this despite that he's very much not, it's just something he quietly does and you understand that it's because he's responsible for and cares about Anakin as his Master, which continues on (if not as frequently) after Anakin's been Knighted and it's how Anakin draws comfort from Obi-Wan being near, that it's something for them and it grounds him. Until eventually it's about them together and Anakin always wakes up first and watches Obi-Wan sleep and I really needed this today, my heart feels better now.

Grocery Store by Spongyllama, obi-wan & anakin & cast, 7.9k
Obi-Wan contemplates if he's the only sane one in the galaxy as he and Anakin visit a supermarket to pick up groceries for the Jedi Council. Filled to the brim of banter, shenanigans, and unexpected encounters.
I am so, so charmed by the entirety of this fic, it's one of those that pulls off the cracky premise so very well because the banter is just so delightful! It fully embraces that it's silly, it's unapologetic about being a vehicle for more banter, and it absolutely delights in the little touches of Anakin being such a whiny child and Obi-Wan being so very put upon until he snaps. I had to pause at several moments just to giggle because the author was so good at writing the characters in a fun way, the kind that's obviously meant as humor but has just enough of the actual characters (just dialed up further) that it scratches the itch of what I want out of humor fic. Anakin wanting various snacks, Obi-Wan trying to remain calm through all the shit he has to go through, the people they run into in the store, all of it was just pure delight and had me smiling through the entire fic! So much joyful banter! Plus, any fic that starts with Anakin wiggling his fingers to pretend to try to mind trick Obi-Wan into not being in trouble because he thinks he's cute is just going to absolutely have me.

Bedside Manner by Spongyllama, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 3.2k
Anakin falls victim to the common cold, and Obi-Wan is very lacking in his bedside manner.
I think this is my favorite fic of the author's yet because, oh, is it ever perfect. It's an absolutely pitch perfect balance of humorous moments and the intensity of feelings I had about the characters! I love love love when one character is a whiny baby when they're sick, but I love it even more when the whiny brat is selfish and demanding about their favorite person taking care of them. And then I love it still yet more when that favorite person is a mix of NO SYMPATHY and genuine love. All wrapped up in hilarity and great comedic timing from the writing! Every moment of this fic was joy, from Anakin trying to avoid Obi-Wan because he knew he'd get in trouble for not resting to Anakin being whiny about no, Obi-Wan's special soup is only for him to not taking his medicine to wanting Obi-Wan to stay with him the whole time to Obi-Wan's complete and total terrible bedside manner to the ending when you see just how deeply they love each other. Oh, I was over the moon for this fic.

Masters and Padawans: Three Generations by GirlwithCurls98, qui-gon & obi-wan + obi-wan & anakin + anakin & ahsoka, 24.6k
    Three generations of incredible bonds.
Oh, I never wanted this fic to end because it was such a perfect thing for what I was looking for and was so many great moments and was paced so well! Each chapter has three scenes, set around a common theme, with each generation of Master and Padawan pairings, showing all the comparisons and contrasts between all of them, showing all the care between these characters. It had such charm and sparkle and was so very, very easy to see these moments, some big and huge, some small and like little slices of daily life, some happy and some sad, all of them filling in even more of the detail of these characters' lives in the way I crave. It was so solid and satisfying a read, I just couldn't put the fic down, I had to keep turning the page, all the more so because I wanted to see the reflections between one generation and the next, because the fic was so good at keeping just the right length for the scenes!

They're short scenes, but I never felt like they were too clipped or brief, the fic was great about choosing moments that only needed to be little snippets, about making them complete on their own but feeling much bigger because they were part of a set of three scenes, in a fic that had 30 chapters of this. That's 90 different moments in the various points of the timeline and yet none of it felt repetive of pointless, all of it was about the connections between Master and Padawan, so it was just one of the most emotionally satisfying things I've read lately!

Burnt Edges by cadesama, obi-wan/anakin + anakin/padme + obi-wan/anakin/padme & ahsoka, NSFW, sex pollen, 33.3k
Captured by the Separatists (again) and dosed with a drug (that's new), Anakin and Obi-Wan find themselves struggling with the overwhelming lust the drug provokes (that's really new).
So, I ate this fic up like the delicious candy it was, because it was entirely a straight shot to my id for what I wanted out of sex pollen fic that's about the complicated love life of Anakin Skywalker. I picked it up because it promised an id-pleasing set up of Obi-Wan and Anakin being doused with a drug to tip them over into a sexual relationship, but then it gave me the complicated, tangled, thorny relationships Anakin has with the two people he loves most in the world, where it's just as much about Anakin's love for Padme as it is his love for Obi-Wan and their love for him. That Anakin struggles between acting on impulse to be with them both versus that he doesn't know how to balance all of this, he's a complete mess of a person. That Obi-Wan struggles with how much he loves Anakin so completely with that Anakin will never be the rational one of their relationship, will never think ahead, will never see the consequences ahead of time, so he has to look out for the both of them. That Padme struggles with how much she loves Anakin, how complete he makes her, but that he'll always love Obi-Wan just as much as he loves her, that she is both incredibly turned on by the images of Obi-Wan fucking Anakin and jealous of sharing Anakin with anyone, that the Jedi way is something she doesn't always agree with.

This is a fic about so many of the things between these three characters, how all three of them play off each other, how all three of them bring different kinds of baggage to the relationship, which is all brought to the surface by a drug that amps up what was already there to a level where they can't ignore it any longer. And I love that it's a fic about Obi-Wan realizing what he wants, it's a fic about Anakin's inability to let go and how deeply he loves, it's a fic about how Obi-Wan and Padme aren't really drawn to each other but to Anakin yet it's not as if they will forever clash against each other. Obi-Wan and Padme is one of my favorite things about this, because if it were just the two of them, they wouldn't be where they are, they do clash and disagree strongly and there's resentment simmering there, but also care and an ability to work together and an understanding that you can feel starting to grow.

But this is a relationship that is about two pairings put together, it's about Obi-Wan/Anakin + Anakin/Padme and, honestly, I think it's stronger and more recognizable for that, because it's how I see it going, especially in these circumstances and at this point in time. They'll smooth down the edges as time goes on, but it's about Anakin being the center and that's why it had my heart, why I was so enthralled and engrossed with the fic. That and the sex was exactly what I wanted--the first time Obi-Wan and Anakin fuck, it's fast and intense, Obi-Wan has been hit with the drug and the moment Anakin agrees, Obi-Wan is opening him up and turning him over to fuck into him, the blend of intensity with how, oh, this kind of works for them is great. The second time, it's more light-hearted and almost playful as Anakin blows Obi-Wan in the shower, that the tension is only just starting to come up, as Obi-Wan is keeping it casual, while Anakin has long been desperately in love. And then, of course, everything goes to hell because Anakin can't not be made of feelings! But, finally, they do all come together and Anakin is fucking Padme, who knows what her husband needs, that he needs both of them, and so Obi-Wan fucks into Anakin as he fucks into Padme and the three of them desperately come together to help the giant mess that is Anakin. That is what my heart wants more than anything, that is what balances Anakin Skywalker the best, that is what fills his heart and soothes both him and me, that is what I will always seek out in this fandom, time and time again, because it's so good.

Teacups and Droid Repair by Rocket_Sith, obi-wan/anakin, some bondage, 5.5k
Written for a kink meme prompt: Anakin/Obi-Wan. Arguing and bantering as foreplay. That's it. That's the prompt. Anakin is being an obnoxious little kriff trying to get Obi-Wan's attention. He definitely gets it, but not exactly how he had in mind. (This is another tale from the fluffy bondage crypt. Tons of bantering and playing around, a little bit of an Anakin character study, but mostly it's just silly fluff. Nothing too explicit here, but it's scandalous enough to get a nice wholesome R rating.)
I swear this fic could have been written just for me! It was the perfect blend of humor, banter, issues, and referenced sex that made it an utterly joyful read, where I laughed out loud at three separate points, because Anakin is such a troll, but he will never be the kind of masterful troll that Obi-Wan is, but it's also put hand in hand with Anakin's issues, where he gets so restless and antsy that he can't sit still, where he starts trying to goad Obi-Wan into something because he won't just ask for what he wants. The fic does a fantastic job of showing that, of how Obi-Wan understands what's going on with Anakin, that he's making a greater point with his former Padawan (aka, when you want to be tied down and thoroughly fucked because you're getting too wound up, just say so, you don't have to goad me into it), and it wasn't too heavy-handed, it was written so that it's a scene with how these characters would interact with each other, all while being woven together with those character insights. But also it's just supremely satisfying for the hilarious banter, especially as Anakin gets more and more frustrated because he wants Obi-Wan in him now, but Obi-Wan is trolling him harder (with a point behind it) and yet it's never anything less than utterly sparkling for how much these two characters love each other and make each other laugh. I loved this so, so much.

The true story of how Anakin got his scar.
There's something just so good-natured about this fic, something so charming and amusing, where Anakin slips in the shower and cuts his face open and is entirely Anakin about it, where there's some embarrassment and crankiness about it, but mostly he kinda finds the whole situation funny and my heart loved that. I loved that it's a good moment, when Anakin is a charming failboat, when he turns his face up to Obi-Wan for a bacta patch, when he tries to wheedle sex out of this whole situation, when you can feel just how charmed Obi-Wan is by this frustrating brat, how much he's amused by the whole thing as well. I LOVE THAT.

Obi-Wan and Anakin help each other get through their losses.
This is two scenes after each of them faces a terrible loss (Obi-Wan losing Satine, Anakin losing Ahsoka) and the tone of it is just absolutely perfect, the bittersweetness of loss and comfort between them, how well they know each other and work together, how they fit together even when the jagged edges of their loss are so painful. I love how almost understated these scenes are, how quiet both of them are, and it lets me feel their grief all the more for it, that it's about the connection between these two characters as much as it is about the people they've lost. It's an ouchy read, but so very lovely for it.

Grievous captures Chancellor Palpatine. Obi-Wan has a plan to rescue him. It's safe to say no one is impressed. Alternatively titled: They say Anakin Skywalker is the reckless one (but that's just what they want you to believe).
I love fic that gets that Obi-Wan is a character who drives the people around him absolutely mad because, look, that guy is reckless and his approach to traps is, "Well, we're going to spring it then. :D" and where do you think Anakin learned it. I love the banter here, I love that Anakin's most pressing reaction is JUST MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS IT'S NOT MY IDEA because he does not want to get blamed for Obi-Wan's plans for getting the Chancellor back. But neither does the fic forget that Obi-Wan is careful and measured and insightful and a skilled strategist, how he knows Anakin so well, that this is exactly like their dynamic from The Clone Wars. It's a blend of humor and something more serious, how the two go hand in hand with these characters, how they're so tired after the war, but there's always still a bit of banter to be had and such care between them. This was an absolutely lovely fic and I'm so glad to have read it.

The Duchess and the General by Gabri Jade, obi-wan/satine & anakin, 1k
Obi-Wan's life never fails to surprise.
Honestly, while I'm reasonably sure the author intended this as gen, it almost works as Obi-Wan/Anakin pre-slash, because it's a story about Anakin being a little shit about Obi-Wan's relationship with Satine, teasing him and bantering with him, that Obi-Wan has a type, but that type that he has? Basically: Hot blondes who have a fierce temper. Combine genuinely delightful banter with the ability for me to read a bit more into it? Yes, gimme. This was a delight to have found and read today.

Just a little love by kathierif_fic, obi-wan/anakin, non-con physical affection (no sex), 1k
Obi-Wan would never know that Anakin did this to him, but Anakin couldn’t help it; he needed this too much.
Oh, this was a heartbreaking little moment where... I agree with the author, Anakin would never non-con someone sexually, but for physical affection? For some cuddle time? Because he can't tell Obi-Wan what he wants (and the tragedy being that I can't help but believe that Obi-Wan would of course give him what he wants, just that it would signal deeper problems that Anakin wants to shy away from) and so instead Anakin uses the Force to gently weave around Obi-Wan while he's meditating. And it would be so easy to be angry with Anakin for that kind of abuse, but it's also heartbreaking because he's just so desperate for physical touch, he just wants to curl up in Obi-Wan's lap and have arms around him for awhile, to feel that physical connection with him, and it's one of those situations that just gave me a lot of feelings.

General Kenobi is the subject of some unwanted female attention.
I have a great fondness for fics that touch on how Anakin is a mess when it comes to emotional stability, that he's jealous and bratty even when he doesn't have a reason to be, while Obi-Wan has to find the line between their relationship and looking out for the greater good. The fic is about this particuarly moment in time, it keeps the focus on this specific situation, but it's used as a way to highlight some of the troubling aspects of Anakin's personality, even while also showing how easy it is to love him. It also does a great job of showing the jealousy and "us against the world" aspects of their relationship, but without making them out of character, that I absolutely recognize the two of them here, so it's both good for my id and a really lovely read.

A small shared moment in the gardens of the Temple.
This was a soft, quiet moment between the two of them, one of those that was nicer than the other things that I was reading at the time, and so made my heart feel better. It was entirely about giving them a moment just to lean on each other, for physical touch to provide comfort without having to be anything more than just a small something in the middle of dangerous lives. That made me feel better after reading!

The act you've known by risinggreatness, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 1.1k
Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan walk into a diner. Is this the start of a joke?
This was short but a solid piece that's about the three of them sitting in a diner and having a bit of downtime and just being three people who care about each other and want a light-hearted few moments (even if they never really have anything truly light-hearted during the Clone Wars), just... sitting in a booth and bickering with each other. I love how much I love these characters and the way they treat each other, this was a delight that helped further scratch my itch for the three of them together.

Talking in the Dark by esper_aroon, obi-wan & anakin (pre-slash?) + mentioned anakin/padme, 2k
In which Obi-Wan says something he really didn't intend to, and everything changes. Maybe.
One of the things that always gets me about the Star Wars universe, especially the PT and with these two characters, is that just the slightest nudge in another direction, a few different worlds, could set off a snowball effect and change so many things--it's frustrating for what could have been and enthralling because there are so many possibilities! And this is one, where Obi-Wan and Anakin are being held prisoner and there's not much to do, even with Anakin trying to wiggle out of their cuffs, and so eventually Obi-Wan ends up asking about Anakin's relationship with Padme in a more direct way than he usually does, distracted by their situation. And it goes about as well as you'd expect, you can feel how Anakin is starting to absolutely freak out and all the repressed emotions (fear and anger especially) start leaking out of him, before they get things back under control. While the snowballing has only barely begun here, it has begun and watching that moment where things subtly begin to change was an absolute delight! (As was that you can read Obi-Wan/Anakin into this, but it could just as easily be entirely gen. Bless!)

The Way of Tea by Queen, obi-wan & ahsoka, 2.5k
We do Tea whenever we feel the desire to share the joy or sorrows of our daily life. One shares worries, the other, wisdom.
This was a really lovely, understated look at Obi-Wan and Ahsoka on a quiet night where they're both up late and Ahsoka is finding sleep elusive and finding it difficult to settle herself. It's just the right amount of direct and the right amount of understated, this is an Obi-Wan who is sometimes Jedi Master and sometimes just simply a friend (and sometimes just the right amount of teasing), who felt exactly right for this conversation with Ahsoka. The fic doesn't try to solve everything, it just lets the moment be, and winds up being one of my recent favorites for it, it's absolutely lovely.
