Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (scanslated) - An Imaginary Tale of Guy's Betrayal - [Note: You'll probably need to be at least halfway through the game to understand this/there are spoilers for quite a lot of it.] I picked this doujinshi up partly because I hadn't really seen many scanslated ones for this fandom, but also partly because the cover looked so gorgeous. And while it's a really simple little story, Guy doesn't stay with them after Sync puts the curse on his arm and instead becomes a God-General, thinking on his place in the world and his past, the tone of it fits in really well with the storyline and feel of the original game. Guy's motivations and even the way he speaks matches up really well, so the really gorgeous art makes it even better. The art is probably my favorite thing about this doujin, it's quietly stunning to me, and would be worth picking this up alone just for it. *__* (No warnings/pairings.)

Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (scanslated) - Fade - as;ldkfja;slkjalsjk omg omg omg. ELEPHAN is one of my favorite artist for Tales of the Abyss, even aside from her fondness for Asch/Natalia, her work is just simply gorgeous. Reading this doujinshi, which I never would have thought fandom would give me, but I am so so glad they did, every single page was just beautiful to look at. All of her characters are gorgeous, of course, but the focus on Natalia, the beautiful lines and shading for her hair and eyes, you can tell how much she really loves this series and these characters. The storyline is about Natalia coming to realize the full impact of Luke and Asch being different people, the connection to the person she had the promise with will never fade, but that doesn't mean her childhood memories were half lies, either. I love her interaction with nearly everyone in the main cast here, that was one of the best things about the game, that it explored everyone's feelings and their connections with each other over the events that happened to them. This is one of those doujinshi that's everything I could ask for from fandom, even if you're not that fond of the character/pairing (asd;lkfjaslk Asch/Natalia OTP so hard omg), I'd suggest giving it a look over anyway. (Implied Asch/Natalia, though, it's not entirely the point.)

Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (raw) - Dolce - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be freely joinable.] I know I say this a lot, but I always mean it: I never intend to look up that much raw doujinshi (other than for the purposes of my own personal collection of art from the fandom) much less recommend it, but... well, my favorite pairings are my favorite pairings. And there are a handful of Asch/Natali doujinshi that I love and this one was too freaking cute to pass up. The cover is adorable and omfg the first page of this doujinshi is Natalia in a wedding dress. And she's just lovely and Asch then comes in and he's just as nicely drawn and a;sldkfjalskj way to strike at my OTP, fandom. There's another story here (Natalia secretly meeting Asch in the forest--with an actual kiss scene! and then cuddling!) where the art is just as adorable and a really just... the ending makes me love this pairing all the more because that's kind of what I wanted to happen. ;__;♥ (Asch/Natalia.)

Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (raw) - The Unforgettable Fire - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be freely joinable.] ELEPHAN does some of the most gorgeous stuff in the fandom and is easily my favorite Natalia and/or AschxNatalia artist in the fandom. Her site is gorgeous and her doujinshi are just as beautiful to look at, the kind of art where I don't even mind that there's a lot of white space on every page, because the art is so pretty and delicate and detailed already. As for this one, little kidlet Natalia, watching as little kidlet Luke runs off to play with little kidlet Guy instead of staying with her, is super adorable and I just want to hug her so bad. And Asch isn't in this one directly so much as he's obviously in Natalia's heart and thoughts, which is enough for me. And I mentioned that this one was super pretty, right? XD (Asch/Natalia implied.)

Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (scanslated): Promised Land I -Return- - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are also spoilers for the end of the game.] Okay, this is what I am now considering canon for the ending of the game. Both Asch and Luke came back, Natalia totally pounced on Asch and wouldn't let go, and there was an actual plot going on. Totally what happened. And, yes, I picked this doujinshi up because I wanted some Asch/Natalia, but I didn't expect to get an actually interesting plot that captured the spirit of the game so well! I love the conversation they all had in Tattaroo Valley, about the reasons why both came back and the state of affairs in the world, I could just so easily see this genuinely happening post-game. Both the doujinshi and the translators really did a bang-up job with the beginnings of the plot (and the evil cliffhanger this doujinshi ended on) so that it's already one of my faves, even if the art might be a little off-putting to some. It's cute, though! ♥ I'm just so grateful to the fandom for letting me have this to read! (Asch/Natalia, implications of Luke/Tear.)

Tales of the Abyss comic/doujinshi (scanslated): untitled - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. Also, there are large images under the cut, so be warned of loading times.] I have such a weakness for Ion/Anise fanworks and I love how well this artist really nails their designs and the gentle, sweet interaction between them that's also full of sadness because of the positions they've both been put into. I really liked how it was just a simple moment, but, because you see it from both points of view, you really feel the impossible situations they're in. I really liked this a lot. (Ion/Anise, but it could be gen, too.)
