- Tales of the Abyss - nove9 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another one of those sites where there's not a ton of art and it took me awhile to warm up to it, but it's not because it's richly detailed or beautifully done, because it is. There are these two illustrations of Jade and Dist (seperately) as kids that are full of these amazing colors and stylized colors... which may have been part of what won me over, I have a weakness for those two. >_> But when you see the artist's lineart, you'll see she's actually really strong in drawing, her series of Peony sketches, the little sketch of the four of them (Peony, Jade, Saphir, and Nephry as kids in Keterburg) is fantastic and there's a really hot older!Anise riding Tokunaga and then Jade in Chinese clothing and an awesome one of Dist+Anise in Halloween-esque outfits--- well. There's a lot of really cool little sketches tucked away on this site, it's definitely worth a visit. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - Corpo Yomogi [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Yet another site where I was initially going to just scan through the gallery really quick, since I wasn't sure the artist's style meshed with my own wants, but... I don't know, somewhere along the way I found myself genuinely fond of the art. Maybe it's because the artist covers almost all of the main party or because I really liked her Natalia art especially or because she worked well with the overly burnt color style or because her watercolor-style images were interesting or just... whatever. I wound up liking the whole of the site, especially when she went more towards a CG style. (She covered a lot of different styles, it seems like.) Her Asch is really, really pretty. *__* Luke and Asch under the tree is really pretty. *___* So, there's just enough art here to make me really like the site a lot. :D<3 (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - KH [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was drawn to this site because the art of Anise looked really strong, it had that CG/cel-style sort of look that I really like when done well and I... yeah, I liked this site a lot. It's not necessarily a site that's going to work for everyone, but I didn't mind the artist's style and I wound up liking that she seems to clearly like all of the girls from the game and draws them all super-cute. The artist's favorite is definitely Anise, but there's enough art of the other girls and even the other characters that I liked the site a lot. Oh! Plus, the site is totally worth going to for the genderswap art with the main party! Luke as a girl is cute, but it's the images of Tear as a guy that actually impressed me the most, the artist did a really cool job with the character design there. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The artist on this site starts out a little shakey, some of the earlier art is not to my taste, but by the time I got to her current art, she was doing some really beautiful stuff. There are a few of Leon from ToD that are just so fantastically done that it really makes me want to start recommending art for the series. ~_~ But her Tales of the Abyss stuff is really very nice, there's a lovely one of Ion and Arietta reading in a field (with a liger, I think?) and some really fantastic Halloween illustrations with the cast. There's a lot of really nice art in the log/oekaki/sketches section as well! It's one of those sites that I just happened to stumble over tonight and it made an excellent fix. I would love to see more from this artist, too. *__* (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss/Howl's Moving Castle - NEST OF NO.35 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I actually came here seeking fanart for something else (possibly Reborn! or Bleach or something) but got totally distracted by the Tales of the Aybss fanart. It's not something I would have sought out myself, but the colors are so lovely and the detail is really fantastic and the artist is just really talented. Her Jade is really, really pretty and her Anise is just lovely and there are comics making fun of Dist! How can I not love a site that teases Dist? Actually, the artist draws a really gorgeous Dist, but she totally teases him in much the same way the game teased him and I love that. ♥ The site mostly focuses on Jade and his relationships with the people around him, but you also get the occasional Luke/Tear image or a beautiful pin-up style sexy pose Natalia that I was not object to at all. Much the same can be said about the HMC art, it's all this really detailed, beautifully colored art that's often kind of stunning to look at. (A fair amount of Peony/Jade, some potential Jade/Anise, maybe a little other, but a lot of gen, too.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, man, I love sites like this. While there's not a lot of non-sketch illustrations in these galleries (if any at all?), it totally makes up for that by drawing a ton of art and all of it's light and airy and really cute to look at. It also helps that the artist is very fond of Dist and the rest of the Keterburg gang, which makes me happy because I've become rather fascinated with that bunch. The illustrations of older Dist are fun, but asdlfkjalskfalksjd the ones of all of them as kids! Little kidlet Saphir and everyone is always kinda mean to him in that way that makes me love him so, so much. ♥ The artist uses a lot of pastels or just a hint of light purple or sometimes only colors their eyes or just does b&w and I wouldn't say any specific one image blew me away (though, I was severely delighted by the handful of Asch/Natalia images on the site), but the whole of the site was fantastic. (Jade/Dist, Peony/Dist, a lot of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - CYBER-GLOVE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I have very firm pairings in Tales of the Abyss, but with fanart... I'm pretty easy, as long as something is pretty, I'm generally pretty happy to look at it. And I really liked the artist's take on the characters on this site, her Guy, Luke, and Asch are all very pretty and have that clean cg-style coloring that I like so much. The early art does start off a little shakey, but by the time I was halfway through the gallery, I knew I was going to be won over by the site. I also really like the artist's take on the characters (well, mostly Guy) in modern clothes, they're really pretty illustrations. A nice little fix for my ToA fanart cravings. :D (Luke/Guy, Asch/Guy, Jade/Guy, everyone/Guy, a smidge of Asch/Luke, and a smidge of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me awhile to dig around on this site and eventually find the Tales of the Abyss art, but I thought it was worth the time. The art is very cute and you can tell how much the artist likes the girls of the series (especially Anise and Arietta) and there's not a whole ton of art here, but I enjoyed it as one of those sites on a longer fanart hunt. While I don't necessarily ship all the same pairings, it's nice to see the occasional Jade+Anise image and I did quite like the Sync/Arietta ones. Plus! The artist drew a couple of Luke/Tear and Guy/Luke images (though, this could entirely be gen, so I'm not sure I'm counting them as pairings) that were totally fun. :D (....nothing I'm going to warn for/label.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It didn't take me long at all to warm up to this artist's style, the flat pastel pinks and greens that the artists uses, which suit characters like Ion, Anise, Sync, and Arietta so well, is a style I really like. Plus... you know, Sync/Arietta fanart. I really like that pairing a lot and a site like this feeds that by being so adorable. The art might not win anyone over, but it's very solidly good, especially as you start clicking the artist's more recent work. Plus! Plus! There's a small handful of Luke/Tear art and the artist's style also suits them pretty well and it's just so... so cute. (Sync/Arietta, a little Ion/Arietta, a little Luke/Tear, a lot of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took all of three illustrations on this site to know that I was going to love it, which is good because there are only about a dozen illustrations on the site. But they're really, really lovely ones, the artist has some solid basic lineart but what really knocks them out of the park for me is the colors. There's a ton of them, all blended together so that they practically shine in half of the illustrations and I just love that. The artist's Luke looks terrific and, oh, man, I really love the chibi-esque group shot a lot. Totally fantastic little site. ♥ (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I have long had a weakness for cute chibi-esque art, especially when it involves some of my favorite characters/pairings. Dist art is semi-rare, just enough that I'll give sites a chance that I might not have with other series, but I enjoy them honestly and genuinely. I really like this artist's bright, soft colors, they work well with the chibi-esque style she has going on here. Plus, you can tell how much she likes Dist because the others tease him a lot or glomp onto him or he's put in really cute little clothes. I am all for this with Dist fanart, especially if it involves Peony and Jade both going >:D at him. XD (Some Jade/Dist, some Peony/Dist, some gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I had actually surfed away from this page after going through about half of the gallery, though I still had a few of the illustrations open in tabs in my browser. There were a couple of illustrations that I'd like, the artist definitely showed potential, but I wasn't sure if she was there yet. But the more I looked through the rest of the pictures... I don't know what it is about this site, but there's something here that finally caught me. Maybe it was the handful of Asch/Natalia images that were really kinda nice, maybe it was that it's the first site I've seen with a Peony/Nephry illustration, maybe it's the super-cute Luke/Tear illustrations, maybe it's that the artist is actually pretty good at drawing Luke and Asch, I'm not sure. But I think, even if not everything appeals to a person, there's enough art here that's interesting to look at to make it worth the time. <3 (Some Luke/Tear, some Asch/Natalia, some other het, a lot of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - When I started looking at ToA fanart, I wasn't quite sure what to make of all the Ion (and company) fanart, not that it really surprised me. He's exactly the type of character that would appeal to the j-fen, in my experience. I didn't really feel the need to seek it out much, but after viewing enough sites like this one... I'm slowly coming around on wanting more of it. You can tell how much the artist really liked the character, you can tell how much work she puts into making Ion and Sync look really pretty, with the soft whites and greens she uses. Plus, there's at least one Sync/Arietta image and that always makes me happy. <3 (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I actually came here for the Destiny fanart (I was doing a quick trawl for Leon fanart, not really expecting to find much more than the occasional ToA illustration), but I started wobbling on this site around the time I saw the artist draw a younger Van and Guy looking adorable together. Then the artist had Guy in a gray and white uniform looking really kind of hot. And then there was a very nice one of the Malkuth officers (and Peony) from the game. And even Peony making Guy's life kind of miserable! I ♥'d this site after those illustrations, it's just a really fun, delightful, pretty site. XD (Some Guy/everyone yaoi, some gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - BEAST-SIDE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Jade/Luke isn't a pairing I gave a lot of thought (though, I can see where the potential came from in the game) and I even started out with the sketches on this page (working my way backwards instead of forwards) but I was immediately taken with how beautiful the sketches were. The lines are soft and elegant and make the characters look utterly fantastic. Everything is about these long limbs and soft clothes and intimate poses and it just works. As for the regular art, it's even more gorgeous, full of the same lovely lines and now even prettier, soft, warm colors. And, yes, the majority of the site is Jade/Luke, but every so often the artist does Asch+Luke or a group image or one of Peony in formal clothing and they're so great. I loved the site a lot. (Jade/Luke, some Asch+Luke gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - For once, I'm actually not all that fond of the oekaki on this site, I don't think. You can see the artist certainly has talent and a lot of potential, but it's in her gallery proper stuff that you can really see how pretty her drawings are. (Well, there's a difference between the oekaki and the sketches. The sketches are lovely and I enjoyed going through all of them.) They've got very nice, fine lines and soft, warm colors and a very light, airy feel that has a polished sort of feel, rather than feeling unfinished. I especially love the way the artist draws Luke's hair, it looks so vivid and yet soft, the colors practically glow. Her Asch is pretty damn gorgeous as well... hell, all of the galleries were a delight to go through. *__* (A lot of gen, maybe a smidge of Asch/Luke.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me a little while to get into this site properly, some of the earlier images weren't to my tastes, but there were enough cute images that I kept at it for a little while. Somewhere along the line, I started genuinely enjoying the illustrations, the artist's take on Synch and Ion are really adorable, very cute and she uses the pastel colors associated with them very well. Not that she only does those characters--there's also a lovely one of Arietta, a beautiful one of Asch, etc.--but for the most part, it's about Sync, Ion, and the rest. A nice little site that I liked. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - 1or8 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me a little while to find the art on this site, but it was so very worth the effort, the light pastels, the watercolor-like style, the beautiful lines, all of it makes for some gorgeous fanart. When the artist does everything absolutely right, she creates these light, airy images that are just full of these almost-glowing colors and it's sites like this that keep me going back to the Tales of the Abyss fandom over and over. Or even revisiting sites and staring at all the art, since I feel like I may have been to this one before. (Too much fanart will rot your brain after awhile. orz) But, even if I have been here before, it's worth a revisit, even the sketches are very cute and, when the artist adds in a little color, they're really lovely to look at. ♥ (A little Jade/Luke, but it's mostly a gen site.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The thing that this site has going for it and what ultimately won me over, I suspect, is that the colors are just so bright and vivid, the reds of Asch's and Luke's hair just shines right off the screen. I'm weak to that sort of thing. And not everything on the site is perfect, but there are a handful of illustrations that are just lovely--Tear in a field, Asch kissing Luke's face, Luke with a bird perched on his shoulder--and make the site totally worth visiting if you're into fanart. Or, you know. Maybe I just have a weakness for the two of them in uniform. >_><3 (Some gen, some Asch/Luke.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Perhaps I am easily weakened towards a site when it has a handful of Asch/Natalia illustrations on it, but I actually do really like this artist's work. There's a whole lot of little sketches and oekaki illustrations tucked away in these galleries and they're really fun to go through all at once. It also helps that the artist seems friendly towards the Keterburg characters, which always makes me sit up and take notice. <3 When the artist uses colors, they're those vivid, bright, sharp colors that work well with the manga/doujinshi-esque linearts and sketches, though her b&w stuff is just as nice. I had fun here. <3 (Some Jade/Luke, some Asch/Natalia, a lot of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site isn't going to be for everyone, but there are a couple of things that the artist did that I liked. First, I kinda enjoy the messy style with the light colors and almost scribbly lines, it works well for this site. Second, there's art of almost every important character in the game, even if it's just a simple oekaki sketch. Sure, the main focus might be on Ion/Sync/etc. and it totally helps that the artist seems at least somewhat fond of the idea of Sync/Arietta, but I love it when there's a ton of art of a bunch of different characters. It's not a perfect site, but it had enough to charm me into liking it, especially since the artist shows more and more promise, the more the site goes along. I'm definitely curious to where this artist will go in the future. (Some Sync/Arietta, a lot of gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I generally really do try to avoid sites with only a handful of ToA art pages on them, but sometimes a site has art that is just so pretty that I cannot resist. Right from the beginning, from the cel-style coloring of the Luke fanart, then the Legretta fanart, then a gorgeous Tear fanart, and then a beautiful Luke/Tear illustration, and I knew I was going to be totally gone on this artist. The colors are just so lush and vibrant, every character the artist draws looks amazing. And there's also some smoking hot fanart on the artist's oekaki boards, which... again, not a ton, but enough to be satisfactory and even really kind of amazing at times. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I couldn't help being charmed by this site, right from the beginning it's these cute little chibi-esque illustrations with the soft, pretty, light, airy colors that I really like so much. And everything is just so damned adorable that I either grin at the art or just want to scoop them all up and take them home with me. And, yes, many of them are just cute, but some of them are actually really pretty and very well-done. It helps that the artist seems to be at least friendly towards pairings like Ion/Anise or Sync/Arietta (the j-fans are really starting to spoil me on these pairings, I suspect) but it's also that the artist gets really good the further into the gallery I got. Again, not perfect, but worth a look. (A tiny smidge of Ion/Anise and Sync/Arietta, but it's mostly a gen site.)

- Tales of the Abyss - konekopunch [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was intrigued and a little charmed by this site right from the beginning. There wasn't a ton of art, though, so I was holding back a little bit, but eager to see where it would go. About the third illustration in, there's an image of Asch holding Natalia protectively close and his hair is in complete dissarray as it whips around in the wind. It's exactly the kind of fanart that I go for--Asch is beautifully drawn and the pose between the two of them makes my fangirl heart just utter glee over them--and thus it didn't matter whether or not I liked any single other image on the site. Except, of course, I very much did. Because there was one of Jade and Saphir with Nebilim, there was teasing of Dist, there was hot Asch + Luke art, there were even some really lovely sketches. Fantastic. ♥ (Some Asch/Natalia, some gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I originally came here for the potential Asch/Natalia fanart, but wound up staying because I liked the site as a whole. For the most part, yes, I'm partial to the Asch/Natalia art and that's why I was won over so easily here, but occasionally the artist would come up with a really cute Tear illustration or a cute Luke fanart or something similar. But, yeah, the Asch/Natalia stuff is my favorite--the image of them as kids or Natalia holding up a badly drawn image of Asch (asldkjalskj so cute!) or Asch kissing her forehead or the two of them putting their arms around each other and leaning in, all of them are so cute. The site isn't perfect, but it gave me several illustrations that I really adored and made me fawn over my OTP once again. ♥ (Asch/Natalia, maybe a smidge of Luke/Tear, some gen.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - At first it didn't seem like there were a whole lot of links to follow on this site, but what art that was here was gorgeous. Just stunningly gorgeous Asch illustrations, all that long hair whipping around him and gorgeous dramatic lines and everything wonderfully in proportion and a hot hot hot mid-battle pose and just beautifully drawn. There were a couple of really nice Natalia illustrations as well, some very nice use of color from the artist. I was ready to recommend the site based on those alone. Then I kept following the links, pulling up a few more and a few more images, discovering the comics that were cute as all get out and deliciously OTP-friendly. Seriously, the one where Asch is yanking Natalia along by the hand? Then later picks her up to carry her? Just. asd;flkjalskf squee. And there are still yet more really lovely images to be found tucked away on various pages and the whole site just... put me into total squee mode. (Asch/Natalia, some gen as well.)

- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The early art on this site is kinda shakey, it's not until about 30 or 40 links into the site that the artist has really tightened up her artwork, but the ToA art didn't start appearing until about link 45 or so, so by the time that happened, the artist was drawing fantastic stuff. There's a lot of oekaki-style images here, but you can see how tremendously talented the artist is, the lines are the jagged type from mouse art, but they're still steady and clean, used on some really fun/interesting concepts for images. The little mini-comics or the lovely art of Asch + Luke standing back to back or Dist working on Tokunaga or the group in some of their various costumes or the gorgeous illustration of the God-Generals as a group. The site requires a bit of patience (or enjoyment of other Tales series, as I liked seeing the Destiny art as well) to find all the ToA art, since it's tucked away into various corners, but it's got some really kickass art to make it worthwhile. (Implications of some canon pairings, but nothing I'm going to warn for.)

- Tales of the Abyss/Odin Sphere - side-A [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was rather immediately charmed by the artist putting the ToA characters into various costumes, a handful of illustrations for most of the main characters, but it was really the image of Guy watching over little Luke and little Natalia playing together while little Asch stands apart from them, obviously watching in pain. It was a lovely take on that scene from the manga and finally won me over. The site also has some very solid, pretty art of most of the characters, the artist is especially good at drawing Luke (the sketches of him and/or Asch are especially lovely) and there's a very sweet Luke/Tear-friendly comic and the artist's Natalia is lovely in her comics as well. By the time I was getting to the last of the sketch/junk pages, the artist had gotten some really beautiful art in, I'm very glad to have stumbled over this site. As for the Odin Sphere section of the site, there's not much here (just one really pretty Mercedes image and then two pages of diary-style art, which is actually quite a lot since the artist puts a bunch on each page), but it's enough to count and the art is very nice. ♥__♥ A-also. Totally worth it for the image of Velvet with Pooka!Cornelius tucked under her arm and stepping on Ingway's bloody head. I LOL'd. (Several potential het pairings, but this site could be entirely gen as well. Whatever was canon on Odin sphere probably shows up here.)
