- Tales of the Abyss/Howl's Moving Castle - Bird Cage [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, man, adorable little comics where all of the characters look so cute and then adorable Luke/Tear fanart to go along with them. The art is very much on the cute side during the whole site, but they can also be kind of pretty at the same time. The strength of the artist's basic lines (which you can especially see in those b&w comics) is solid and the colors are very cute. It's much the same for the HMC fanart, though, perhaps not quite as polished yet. It's the kind of site that'll make you go, "Awwwwww. ♥" a lot if you're partial to the characters/pairings drawn, but may not win you over if you're not already a fan. It's still really cute stuff, though. ♥ (Some Luke/Tear, some gen for ToA. Howl/Sophie for HMC.)
- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was going to finally just close my browser and stop looking at fanart for the night because my brain was actually starting to hurt from seeing so many sites (given that I wound up recommending about 20 sites and I rec maybe one out of every four I look at....), but I was enticed into just one more Tales of the Aybss site because the art looked like it could really be cool. And even if my brain rebelled against me a little, it was worth it, this site has some super-adorable art and one of my new favorite illustrations--Peony and Jade riding on some sort of contraption while Saphir hangs off the edge by the back of his pants, bent over so that his shirt is practically over his head. It is never not funny when artists tease Dist, especially when they do it with such fun, well-done art. The group illustrations are fantastic, the author clearly has a sense of fun and humor and you can just feel that coming off all her art. A-also, the site was totally worth it for the illustration of Guy putting a blanket over a sleeping kidlet Asch and kidlet Natalia as they lean against a tree. Adorable omg. (No real warnings/pairings, at least not enough to count.)
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/Tales of the Abyss - Replay [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I feel like I haven't seen this style in ages, this particular kind of CG style and I didn't realize that I kind of missed it. It works especially well with a series like Higurashi and a character like Shion, she looks so pretty in all of the illustrations. The colors are the lovely darker pastels (shut up, that totally makes sense) or those brighter, cheerier pastels that the series uses so much of. The illustrations are just cute and if there were more Satoshi/Shion like this artist, I might actually fall for the pairing. (Not that I have any shipping preferences in Higurashi.) The one of all the girls glomping onto each other is probably one of my new favorites in fandom. ♥ As for the Tales of the Abyss section, I was originally going to skip recommending it only because I wasn't sure there was actually going to be enough to recommend. But then I kept going through the site and... there's still not a ton of art, but it's that CG style I like so much and the colors are so pretty and I love the artist's Dist a whole lot. ♥ (A little bit Satoshi/Shion, but mostly gen. Some Peony/Jade/Dist in varying combinations and some gen.)
- Tales of the Abyss/Tales of Destiny/Harukanaru Toki no Naka de/Katekyou Hitman REBORN! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I think this might be the first Tales of Destiny site I'm properly recommending, which I normally avoid because I only know of the game through second-hand knowledge and having read a few volumes of the manga, which give me enough info to recognize characters, but not a deep appreciation of the game. However, there is Leon + Rutee fanart on this site! And it's very cute! The Abyss and Destiny art are mixed into the same catagory together, which is part of the reason why I'm recommending for both series, but it's also really cute stuff. It's often chibi or pairings I don't see nearly enough of (like Guy/Luke) and not really a ton here, but... enough to make it a worthwhile distraction for a bit. As for the Harutoki art, it's more of the same cute, almost water-color-style painting, using bright colors and cute designs to make me really quite like the artist's work. And, finally, the reason I stumbled over the site in the first place--the REBORN! fanart, which is sometimes a little shakey, but overall is quite solid. The artist does a really good Tsuna especially, but a damn good Gokudera as well. Her Gokudera/Tsuna is super-cute, which isn't a pairing I was expecting to find here, but am delighted at nonetheless. In the more recent art, the artist has gotten really good at drawing these characters, her lines smoothed out and tightened up and there's one of kidlet Gokudera and kidlet Tsuna playing on a swing that's just fantastic. I love. ♥ (Gen for Abyss and Destiny and Harutoki, some Gokudera/Tsuna for REBORN!.)
- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanse Fanart Sites ] - It's been awhile since I stumbled over a ToA site that I liked that I hadn't already been to (I stopped looking quite so much partly because of new fannish obsessions, but partly because all the sites were starting to run together in my head), but I happened to wander over to this one and am greatly pleased to have done so. The first couple of links I clicked onto were of Dist and Jade/Dist art, so that put me in a good mood right there. But I think what I ultimately wound up liking best about the site was the stylization of it, the interesting take on the characters (especially the God-Generals) that the artist had. ....well, okay, and the Keterburg fondness the artist seemed to have. ♥ Anything with the group of them standing around or Saphir when he was younger and hadn't quite outgrown that terrible haircut, all of them were fantastic. *loves* (Maybe a little Jade/Dist, but it's mostly a gen site.)
- Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's not very much art on this site, just a handful of illustrations, really, but a couple of things won me over. First, there's Nebilim fanart and it's kinda very cute, which is a really rare thing to come across. Second, there are sprites and they are super-adorable! Not everyone is going to like this site the way I did, but the bright, airy, almost pastel colors (that fit Nebilim and the Keterburg characters so well) were something I really liked. Plus. You know. Sprites. I am weak to these things. (No real warnings/pairings.)
- Tales of the Abyss - Vision Butterfly [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There is something really kind of pretty and yet leaning towards the cutesy side of things at the same time with this site. I really like the colors the artist uses, the softened touch she puts on them makes them really stand out--like, there's this one of young Luke and Guy sleeping against each other against a tree that is quite possibly the most adorable thing I've seen all day. Or the one of Anise glomping onto Ion! Or the one of a younger Natalia, Guy, and Luke being all adorable dressed up for Christmas and spread out underneath the tree! Or the super adorable one of the Keterburg kids when they were younger! And so on. ♥ There are some really beautiful images on this site, I'm glad to have stumbled over it. (Nothing I'm going to warn for.)
- Katekyou Hitman REBORN!/Tales of the Abyss - SACRED [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I took kind of a weird path getting here--I started out looking for Final Fantasy III fanart, somehow this led to FFXII fanart, which then led to... REBORN! art. Not that I'm complaining, because I stumbled onto a fantastic Tsuna/Gokudera art site here. I wish there'd been more typical illustrations (because they're beautifully done) but it's hard to complain when there are SO MANY comics and there is some damn fine art to be found in them. The artist draws all the characters very cute, I really like her Tsuna a lot, he's so pretty, but her Gokudera? SO PRETTY, holy crap. ♥ I swear it must be the shading or something that really knocks me over, there's just something about it that really does it for me (I dunno how well it'll appeal to others, but for me, I love this kind of style) when it's in this many comics. The sheer amount of art totally puts me in the right frame of mind for it. As for the ToA art, there's not nearly as much there, just a handful of illustrations and sketches/oekaki, but... there's some beautiful Sync/Arietta mixed in and I am severely weak to that pairing after sites like this. It'd be so cute and so bittersweet and I love it. ;__; Especially when it's as pretty as this. *__* (Gokudera/Tsuna for REBORN!, Sync/Arietta and some gen for ToA.)
- Final Fantasy III/Tales of the Abyss - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The art here is very... almost simple, but very cute in style, and that's okay for me because the game itself is very simple and cute. Plus, I'm easier on FFIII sites and especially Luneth/Refia sites because they're kind of rare. The artist does some genuinely cute work, but I think it helps that I'm already a fan--I do really like her colors a lot, they're light and cute and cheerful and she has fun playing with the costumes, which I always love. And, as the artist goes along, her art gets cuter and cuter--Devout!Arc is so adorable. ♥ As for the ToA art, it's more cuteness that somehow really fits the Luke/Tear pairing especially. There's actually a decent amount of detail to the illustrations and there's a large chunk of them here and it made for a solid, fun site, I really had fun here! (Some Luneth/Refia, some gen for FFIII. Some Luke/Tear, some gen for ToA.)
