- Weiss Kreuz - Deck of Card by Lady Jaida - It took me awhile to realize that this was a fic about Schwarz's pasts, as I should have read the notes a bit more closely. Eheh. ^_^;; Anyway, I was intrigued by Lady Jaida's take on Crawford and Schuldich's past here, because not many people break away from the stereotypical fanon and create something that's actually interesting. What I liked about this fic was all the little details that were tucked away in this fic, either about their pasts, their presents, or sowing little hints for what was to come all while they're playing cards--and I just love the idea of these two playing cards, too. XD (No warnings.)

- Weiss Kreuz - Deserted by Eleanor K. - Since Jenn-san has been writing WK fic lately, it's been putting me in an even more WK-ish mood and this little fic just made me even more ravenous for good fic on the series, because it had this well-done atmosphere to the piece, in the sense that... it was very evocative of an emotion (isolation/not-isolation) while still being wonderfully in character. All four scenes were described beautifully, capturing a certain sense about them, especially the emotion behind with without being emotional about it (<---that makes sense to me, that's all I care about >P) and tying everything back together at the end without being obvious. Plus, I have such mad love for Schwarz, I really do. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

- Weiss Kreuz - Five Lives Brad Crawford Never Lived by Daegaer - Oh, these were so cool--five different takes on Crawford's history/potential life, possibilities that could have come to be, but hadn't and each one... just a snippet, but still representing all these different possibilities. The first one is such an intriguing idea, because... it's so smart. Clever, really. And just what you'd expect from a precog. Others in the set were either quietly touching (which you wouldn't expect from Crawford fic, but I found them working), others were as calculating as closer to the character we see, others were just... harsh and almost painful. But they were all fascinating to read, the different paths his life could have travelled, all interesting in their own right. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Weiss Kreuz - Sozialinteraktion by tosca's kiss - I've been on something of a WK kick tonight and this was one of those fics that just... I missed this kind of fic. The kind with really good writing, sharp characterization that's not overdone or cliche, and a genuinely clever concept. I have such mad love for Schuldich when he's like this, I have such mad love for Schwarz interactions, I love that there were just enough deft Japanese culture details in the fic to really bring it to live, and the pay-off at the end? Fantastic. I'm still laughing. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Weiss Kreuz - note in blue ink by ingenius_inc - I'll warn ahead of time that this fic leaves off in a very nasty place, though, hopefully there'll be more of it soon. I liked this story, despite the use of the fanon nicknames (Schu, Farfie, etc.), it was a good, solid take on Schuldich's character, of the line between uncaring asshole and someone who genuinely does care on some level about Crawford. The pacing is lovely, sliding along at just the right brisk pace to keep the story moving but without skimming over too many details. Hell, I didn't even mind the clubbing stuff (short as it was), when usually that kind of thing bores me to tears! The way Nagi's growing up in this story, the way Schuldich puts up a good front about not caring what's happening to the team (that you're never really sure if it's false or actually true), the way Crawford's absense makes their lives different... it was all very nicely done. ...jeez, bad rec, good story, you go read now. (Some Crawford/Schuldich, some Schuldich/Nagi?)

- Weiss Kreuz - Tannenbaum by tosca - Sharp, clever Schwarz Christmas fic! It's all too easy to send Schwarz a little too far over the edge with the Christmas antics, to make them more sitcom-ish than something I could believe was a story about a group of dangerous assassins. But with this story, it retains that sharpness to the writing, the incidents with the Christmas tree, Schuldich's choice of music he inflicts on the rest of them, and Nagi's revenge on Schuldich... these are the kinds of things that made me fall for this take on Schwarz in the first place. Right down to the little details of Nagi's compromise and... ....crap, this is a vague rec. But I don't want to give anything away! Just go read it, it's funny and good Schwarz-style amusement. (You'd have to squint pretty hard to find pairings/warnings here.)

- Weiss Kreuz - Kein Romantisch by tosca's kiss - I haven't rec'd this before? I know I've read it before and liked it, so I would have assumed I'd rec'd it. But I can't find it on my list, so, eh. Here we go. Fabulous Schuldich characterization, the kind that has just enough of that cynical edge, but still makes him the attractive, oddly charismatic character that he is. The other characters are fantastic as well--Nagi is quiet, with an occasional sharp tongue, just a hint of cynicism but still so young in his own way, just the perfect tones for him. And Crawford is... well, Crawford. From the indulgance of Schuldich's eccentricities to the last two lines that were great. I just... yes, much love for the whole thing. ♥ (No real warnings/pairings.)

- House/Weiss Kreuz - Night Operation by toscas_kiss - Okay, seriously. Weiss Kreuz and House should not blend this seamlessly. If it'd been just about any other author, I may not have given it a shot, but I've always really liked the author's WK fic, especially her take on Crawford/Schuldich, so what the hell, I thought. This story was awesome pretty much from the word go, the brilliant characterization of both House and Crawford as seen through House's eyes. The way it doesn't spell out the canon for you, you have to know what's going on. Right down to the fabulous ending. Just. Wow. It's hard to express in words how much I loved this. (Nothing I'm going to count for pairings.)
