- Yu-Gi-Oh! - Knowing is Only Half the Battle by Scribbler - I haven't yet read much YGO fic because I've only read the first four volumes or so. But the author's notes of this one mentioned that it could be placed in several different moments in the series, it was a character piece more than about a specific (spoilery) moment, so I figured it was safe. Given that I've always had a vague interesting in Kaiba and then found out there was wibble-worthy brother stuff? Yeah, this is the kind of fic I wanted to read. Mokuba being a relatively good kid, loving his brother a lot, and Kaiba is... not entirely cold, but he's not a warm person anymore, either. If he ever was. The line between making Kaiba care too much and not caring enough, hinting at more underneath the surface that's being tamped down, the author achieves all of that so well here. It's just the kind of thing I was hoping to read in this fandom. (No warnings/pairings.)
